These are the exact items I sold to the business

I shop Buffalo Exchange;Platos Closet...frequently. When I saw the recent opening of Uptown Cheapskate in the Crestview area I got super excited! My recent visit wasn't so exciting though. I completely understand the business model. However on my recent visit as a seller it was sad & disheartening. My sell items consisted of 1 pair Minnetonka Pile Lined Hardsole Moccasins, 1 pair Minnetonka Cally Pile Lined Hardsole Moccasins both brand new in box, and a Pair of NIKE Recraft Borough Lows-Pink **Ive attatched photos of exactly what I sold so you can get an idea** I wore them once. I paid $209.10 for all 3 before tax. I left with $25. Lol. I was expecting $40. Being that they normally pay 30-40% of the value. When one exits Uptown Cheapskate your immediately emailed/texted a "how'd we do" feedback text. I replied with my honest feedback. I was met with a reply pretty much letting me know the $25 buy back was being generous. He asked "I'd be happy to take a look at your transaction". When I said id appreciate if you did take a look...i was met with a long text response basically what the previous reply said. I did not wanna fool with it after that & told him "its ok dont worry about it & have a nice day". Uptown Cheapskate pretty much lost a customer that day. Im sure Linda & Craig Berlin wont be too happy with how it was taken care of. Tomorrow's a new day and I can retreat to Platos Closet. Edit: After reading some of the reviews its basically an echo. All the responses from Jackson K. Start out with "We attempted to contact you". Who wants to be contacted back after you have left a passive aggressive TEXT MESSAGE! Thats exactly why I decided not to fool with it. DO BETTER!

We decided to get here on opening day and there was quite a line to get in. This place has about 20 parking spaces, which should be enough for an average day. I believe this is the 4th location in Austin and surrounding areas. Inside is about 10,000 ft.² of well designed retail space. One thing you notice upfront is that all the shoes sit above the clothing racks. The place is mostly heavy on women's clothing, but they have a very decent selection of men's clothes as well. They have a vintage clothing area which features concert T-shirts and some Lulu Lemon racks as well. At the back, they have 11 dressing rooms to try things on. My wife brought some things to sell before the grand opening and the staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with. The only problem is that every transaction comes with a Google review which is why they want your phone number and email address when you buy or sell something. Everything on the racks is gently used, new or practically new. Prices seemed reasonable. Another bonus is if you sign in they'll give you 15% off on the month you were born. Definitely worth a look around as the informative photos show.

I felt so sassy and flirty!! I had been driving around for a while searching for some really beautiful vintage dresses and shoes. But I found so much more here, including the dresses I was looking for and some really pretty shoes that look like they're from the '80s. I walked the whole store, and it can be dangerous for my wallet, but in my world, fashion is a must! So let's live on the edge. I really enjoyed the service; the guy let me browse and looked in the mirror a hundred times. He didnt think I was a weirdo. But the items here are so beautiful, the store is so gorgeous, and there's just so much to see; I couldn't rush it. So tomorrow I will go back and retrieve my items and some more. So I'm so slow. Now I'm thinking of every item I admired. Now some of the dresses I saw and other stuff. Wait a second, I must tell you they have a hell of a men's section. I saw some things for my brother, especially a coat; he lives in Toledo, Ohio. On my way out, I saw a pair of boots for me. I saw a few handbags; I'm sure one was from the Roaring '20s. One could most definitely have been from the seventies. All these beautiful pieces were at such a great price. So if you're like me, who loves fashion from all eras, this is the gem!

However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal

In addition, there are a few pairs of shoes being sold in the store as well. The store has a light and airy persona. The clothing was chic yet practical. The clothing ranged from pieces that might be of interest to Generation X or Y's to Baby Boomers. Mazúr Boutique also had a few shoes for sale as well. It was delightful to see the Longhorns (University of Texas at Austin mascot...in the house) prominently displayed on some of the children's clothing. Given that Mazúr Boutique co-exists with Mazúr Coffee, you can have a cup of coffee and shop or shop and have a cup of coffee...your choice. The boutique representative was very friendly and offered me suggestions when I told her what I was looking for. Items are reasonable price and they are also having a sale. I like the whole retail and coffee therapy vibe!

I did enjoy perusing the store. In this boutique you can find a variety goods tops (long-sleeved, short-sleeved and cropped tops), jackets, dresses, skirts and accessories. The dress I originally planned to wear did not work out, so I ordered another one. It's technically floor length, but I'm 5'10" so it stops at the ankle instead of covering my feet. So now the shoes have to be stunning enough that no one will even notice the hemline. I ordered a pair on Amazon that were supposed to arrive Friday. Then I got the dreaded update that they were delayed to Saturday... at 10 PM. Well, that's not going to work. So I made the mad dash to Nordstrom Rack Saturday morning. I walked in with low expectations, fully prepared to hit multiple stores before finding anything close to what I needed. Instead, I found the most gorgeous Badgley Mischka crystal pumps. They're slightly bigger than my normal size, but that actually works in my favor. They're comfortable, my toes can move, and I can already tell I won't be plotting my escape from them halfway through the evening. While I was there I grabbed a strapless bra and even found a formal bag that works better than the clutch I originally planned to carry. Sibyl at checkout was the perfect finishing touch to my morning. Friendly, outgoing, and genuinely helpful. The whole experience felt like the Nordstrom culture of service I studied back in graduate school.
