Great flavors, but a bit small. The hot dog was delicious, but the portion was small. Loved the grilled bun. Would come back for more!

Uptown Picnic Dog, Carolina Style dog, Chicago dog

We randomly were craving hot dogs today while we were out and about, found this place on google and are SO happy we did. The owner, Mr. Simmons, is an incredibly kind man who walked us through the menu and let us try the chili they put on the hot dogs (which his wife makes from scratch). I ordered a beef Carolina style dog and the Uptown picnic dog with the signature turkey chili, and man, I could have eaten 20, they were the perfect hot dogs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed a game of pool and the music and ambiance was cool![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will ABSOLUTELY be coming back, not just because of the delicious hotdogs but also because I will always patron a location with quality ownership.

Uptown Dogs is that spot point, blank. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is crazy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can get a frank with all the fixings, play a little pool, have a cocktail or two and from what I saw you can do a little two step, on the platform[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner, D, brought that uptown swag to the south.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a beef frank with , red onions, sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard, coleslaw and the house potato salad. It was fresh and delicious!!! I was served by Danii. She's was courteous, pleasant and professional. The bomb. Just took my mother-in-law. She had the New York Style Dog because she said New York Style is all she knows, lol. I asked her if she enjoyed it and she said," Oh Yeah"! We'll be back.

One Carolina style and one New York style.

I ordered my food and glass of wine and patiently waited. The food came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good this time. In the past, the chicken parm has been the star of the show. This time, it was disappointing. The breading was half off the chicken. The chicken itself was just okay. The fettucine alfredo seem to be missing some seasonings. The lasagna was good and unfortunately for me, also the smallest portion on the plate. This really should be a 3 star but the friendly service bumped it up to a 3.5-4. Becky (on our receipt at Rebecca) provided us with genuine Southern hospitality during our entire dining experience. She was efficient and friendly with many great suggestions regarding food items. I enjoyed the grilled shrimp along with a loaded baked potato and delicious Caesar Salad. The dressing on the salad had fantastic flavor, and it was not drenched in the dressing as some places tend to do. My husband enjoyed the blackened redfish dish which featured shrimp, lump crab meat, tomatoes, green onions, lemon butter, and red pepper flakes. He exclaimed over the fabulous flavors. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious and airy yeast rolls (at least I believe they are yeast rolls) that were accompanied by a decadent and addicting honey, cinnamon butter. Becky brought 4 of them for the 2 of us, and I wish she had not because I could not resist having part of a 2nd roll. They also offer a special every day, which a lot of my coworkers really enjoy. I heard a bunch of them rave about the veggie melt, which I still haven't had a chance to try! Anyway, there are your typical deli sandwiches, plus several mediterranean (vegetarian) options, which is great for me! There are a couple sides, like fruit salad, tabouli, and stuffed grape leaves. I know the economy's bad but I just ordered over $60 worth of food and drinks! I'm good over here! She stood there batting her extended eyelashes and told me there was nothing she could do and kept referring to the online price being correct even though their website shows different. The quickest way to lose my business is to fail to acknowledge a customer's concerns. Dismissive attitudes, and doubling down even with facts presented. I run a company and wouldn't come close to hiring the cashier who I presented this issue. No offer to me to speak to a Manager! Nothing! Just batting her eyelashes and smacking on chewing gum! To add injury to insult, I checked my food and I was missing the extra piece of fish that I paid for. Again, this "cashier' tried lying again by telling me that fish is sold by the pound and only AFTER I presented her with my receipt that she already had access to did she relent and that was ONLY because another lady who was much more customer friendly came from the kitchen to apologize to and confirm that she had neglected to add my other piece of catfish! Again, Ms "Cashier" casually walks off with no apology acknowledgement or anything. Note-this was the SECOND they did this as they 'forgot' to add my extra piece of fish on my order. Mind you the extra fish is $10.75 for CATFISH!!! Seems like a pattern for this business! Bag up the order. Tie it up tightly and hope the customer doesn't check until they're home and by then it's too late to try to return and if you call to report food missing, I'm certain "Ms. Cashier", will just deny and lie, indicating that all the food was in the bag when she's not even the one cooking or bagging it up! Just the money taker! BUYER BEWARE! Needless to say, I got my food and left immediately and sitting in my car fuming writing this feedback! NEVER AGAIN FATBOYS!!!!! I tried! Whoever sliced it from the "loaf" should have noticed it was not cooked before throwing it on the grill! We notified the manager when he came to apologize for the NY strip, so he took the meatloaf back to the kitchen. When the NY Strip came back out, my husband cut into it and it was shiny and purple inside, from top to bottom...absolutely rare. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. A guy finally came out and seated our group of six. We even asked if he could manage serving us without getting overwhelmed, and he assured us it wouldn't be an issue. The restaurant is small--maybe room for 15-20 people--and most of their business seems to be takeout. People were constantly coming and going. We placed our order, and it took about 15-20 minutes. The biggest problem: they can only cook three meals at a time because their grill is small. That meant three of us got our food while the other three had to sit and wait. Not ideal. However, the food was excellent--rich flavor, great quality, and clearly the reason their takeout business is booming. Just a heads‑up: "fried rice" here means plain rice. No vegetables, no egg. Those cost extra. They included taxes when calculating for tips.
