The lowdown: Small little dive bar that serves the best burger I've had in a LONG. Service was not the best, but it wasn't horrible either. Offers pool tables, a jukebox, slot machines, food, indoor and outdoor seating. Decided on a whim to stop and check out some food at this local establishment. The parking lot was surprisingly full for 8 pm on a Tuesday night. Inside was decorated with your typical bar-type neon signs and offered several pub type tables, booths and bar seating. We were hungry so we decided to order chicken wings since I have read they were good in some of the reviews on YELP, well, wouldn't you k ow they were out of chicken! Not only were they out of chicken but also Mozzeralla sticks! Which is exactly the two things I wanted to order. I ended up getting a bacon cheese burger which I couldn't even finish. The food was surprisingly delicious! Our server was just barely adequate. In the end, we had to bring our bill up to the bar to check out because she was talking to someone at the bar and didn't see that we were sitting there ready(this is the main reason for 4 stars versus 5). read more

Wanted to bring my teenager and her friends for a birthday party; called and asked that someone open for us at 3pm on Sunday so the kids could shoot some pool. I was going to order snacks and soft drinks for the party. Had several calls with the lady to confirm all details; got an ironclad promise someone would be there and open for us. I am so glad that I found this bar! I'm from a very rural town in the Midwest, and I have never felt so at home. The food was impeccable, and the drinks were super cheap! The waitress Christie was the worst. This has been the second time my wife and I went to eat on the Biggie's Steak House side of the Korner Pocket. She can't cook to save her life, and gets the orders wrong blaming her co-workers for being dipshits. The first time there we ordered two Cheeseburger combos. Under cooked and the fries were soggy. Tonight, we went there to eat and see the band Electric Carnaval and lucky us she took our order again. A 16oz ribeye with baked potato for me, and a steak sandwich with fries for my wife. We sat there for 1 whole hour waiting for our food to brought to us. She brings the salad with the wrong dressing, ok no biggie. When the main courses did finally get there an hour later, it tasted bland and no baked potato and no fries. Christie stomps in and out of the kitchen yelling at the other cook then takes off, nowhere to be found leaving the other poor cook to fend for herself. After we finished, we sat there waiting to pay, 15 minutes go by and no Christie. Finally, I went to the bar to pay. We went around to the outdoor stage to watch the band and low and behold Christie was at the Sugar Shack in back and just left us sitting there at our table. This poor service is a failure in our book, and we will never spend another dime at that dive. This place has always been that sub-par bar you go to once in a while to drink and listen to bands play, but this standard of service is low even for the Korner Pocket. Never again! read more

I always get a weird unwelcome feeling when we order out here. My husband loves the burgers but imho they are not worth the money. It looks and acts like a dicey biker bar. Buyer Beware! I came here for the first time after work on a Monday. The bartender was very nice, no issues there. My problem came with my check. I had four double cocktails and a snack size wing appetizer. EIGHTY FREAKING DOLLARS. I get it, some places charge for two drinks when you order a double- they're insane, but they do it. But to do it with no warning is irresponsible. I can go to any prime, high dollar steakhouse in this town and get a larger pour for less than what they're charging. $15.50 for 3oz of Jack Daniel's? I think they have one of the best burgers in town, but the fries leave something to be desired. They hand cut the fries and they tend to be soggy. People love the wings. The sauced wings seem to be better. I've ordered plain ones and a time or two they have had a burnt taste. That may be attributed to a specific cook. They even make a solid BLT. I know that may sound simplistic, but the way simple meals are prepared say a lot. I've my share of bad BLTs The staff is solid. Shilo is top notch. This place doesn't try to add any frill nor does it need to. It's a fully functional biker/blue collar dive, and it completely serves its purpose: cheap beer, good food, pool, and classic rock music. I have been here probably a dozen times now as it is reasonably close to the house and fills in after a night downtown when the wife and I aren't totally ready to call it a night. They have live music on Saturday nights for which they recently built a little stage), and the crowd, while a little tough looking, is quite friendly. I should add that they make very stiff drinks, but not to be friendly or earn high-marks from customers. No, they do it to see if you can handle it. I would give them more stars, but I feel like they wouldn't want them. read more

Local watering hole close to home. Reasonable prices on beer and friendly service. Exactly average. The wings were also exactly average.

I have tried the food a few times here, and my selections have included their cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, onion rings, salad, grilled ham and cheese, chicken tenders and wings. The food at this place is GOD AWFUL. The only "passable" items are those which are frozen to begin with: Tenders, O-rings, fries. But even those items are greasy and inconsistently cooked. The salad was disgusting - slimy lettuce and the dressing was unremarkable. The last time in, I noticed the Cleanliness GRADE CARD with a big 82 on it. Can't believe I didn't notice that before, but it all made sense. Will never go there again. Yuck. read more

I've lived near this place for years and have always wanted to try it but have always been leery of it because of the general "ambiance". So I decided what the heck, what's the worse that could happen? While the crowd is a bit rough around the edges in the pool area, the restaurant area is separated by a door. I got the 12oz. ribeye, baked potato and salad bar. The salad bar have few selections - just the very basics, but everything seemed very fresh. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the baked potato was passable. While eating one of the bar/pool hall patrons walked through and we struck up a conversation about the football game on the TV. Yesterday when we visited and only stayed long enough for a beer and there was a young teenager gal sitting AT THE BAR eating. She looked really annoyed at her loser father bringing her there. My visit was for lunch one weekday. Great burger! Huge and delicious! Only big mouths need apply! If you get it with bacon, you're going to get about 8 strips! Really nice. Fabulous chili cheese fries. They said the chili was homemade fresh daily, and the fries were cut that day. The waitress said they were known for their burger and their wings. Loved their burger, so I'll have to go back and have the wings some time. Inside looks a lot nicer than the outside, which is kinda "divey" looking. The left side of the building is a more "family style" dining room, but only has a few tables. Really kinda small. It houses the better-than-you-would-think salad bar, and the buffet bar. A glass door separates this room with the main sports bar room. The main sports bar area has a few pool tables, several pub tables with stools, a bar, and several flat screen tvs on the walls. I think a nice atmosphere for lunch. Their web site has a schedule of the daily buffet contents. Instead of several items on the buffet, this is really one entree with fixins... Great little local place! Hand cut to order steak was fantastic! The loaded baked potatoes had 4 or 5 whole slices of bacon on it and the all you can eat salad bar was very good with large bowls! Stop on Wednesday nights and meet Shiloh, a very friendly wonderful bartender! Couldn't be more pleasantly surprised! Watch the blonde at the poker machines. Very friendly and talkative! Buffet is scary looking, but quite tasty. Expensive for the size and variety, but you can definitely get your moneys worth. The buffet changes from day to day, and certain days are excellent. Burgers are great. Fries are great. Hot dogs are normally good, but twice I've gone in and ordered a standard hot dog and it's been EXTREMELY well done and dry. When I've complained I have never gotten a new one or an offer of a new one. It's a HOT DOG, people! How do you mess up a hot dog! Given the restaurants in the area, if you're eating here, Korner Pocket's about your best choice. If you drive 10 minutes from here, there's a lot better selection, but not a lot better buffets on the good days. read more
