If you are looking for a quick bite off the flat top, stop at Jerry's Grill. A few seats inside but I would say more of a grab and go. They have breakfast and lunch all day which I do find nice. Bacon, egg, and cheese on toast with LTM made a great breakfast this morning!

They are advertising themselves as Big Hot Dog Energy, charging $10 for a shitty hot dog - as you can see by the pictures below they are frauds. DO NOT EVER buy anything from this place you will have no clue what you are getting - TOTAL GARBAGE

    a hamburger and onion rings

Find a better old fashioned cheeseburger and onion rings combo in Raleigh...I'll wait. Seriously, the same guy is almost always manning the grill and always does an amazing job. Other items are good as well, but it's hard to overlook the double cheeseburger

Sign on side of the building touting Jerry's 99 cent hot dog.

This tiny place is located about a 1/2 block off Wake Forest Road, just around the corner from a Snoopy's Hot Dog location - obviously good, quick eats abound in this small area of Raleigh. This is basically a fast food setup with limited seating available inside, and a couple of tables out front. They have been serving breakfast items, sandwiches, and country cooking here since 1968 - means they're doing somrthing right. The Chili Dog here is very, very good - decent weiner, soft bun, and house made chili with excellent flavor - and all for only 99 cents. The Cheeseburger is even better than the Chili Dog. It is decently sized, juicy, and with a nice outside crust from the flat top grill, and they are not stingy with the cheese. They serve a number of the usual sandwiches, and an unusual one or two, like a Cuban Sandwich, but it doesn't contain roast pork, or pork of any kind for that matter. Service is quick and friendly - and there is a lot of verbal interchange and joking between the staff, and with the large number of first name regulars here - this would be called banter in an upscale restaurant, I guess. Good food, good prices, good folks here.

Philly cheese steak. All the way = peppers, onions, cheese. I added lettuce. Amazing.

My no-frills favorite! Perfect for a quick bite. Best burger around.. (try the hangover hash browns, too!)

Hangover hash browns with jalapenos. So good.

I love this place. It's the perfect quick food that reminds me of diner food. Friendly staff and delicious food. I got the hangover hash browns and could not stop talking about them all day. Perfect after a night of drinking.

Good reason to come back. Started with prickly pear margarita with mescal. Yum! Had a white wine after. It was ok. My friend and I shared 4 bruschetta's- smoked salmon and pesto, artichoke, caprese, and apple, Brie and fig. Favs were smoked salmon and apple and Brie. The fries were amazing. Salmon board was good too. The bread on the board was much better than the bruschetta. Ambiance is great. Service as well. Will be back!

Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.

Birdie's is located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh, right on Fayetteville Street. There is street parking, but also a parking deck right across the street. The decor is absolutely lovely, and it's spacious with a beautiful bar. There's also a cafe in the front if you just want to drop in for some treats to go or coffee. Although they have a nice cocktail menu, they also have a full bar if you'd like something that is not on their menu. On the brunch menu, they have an item called Mimosa Party, which has 4 different flavors: range, dragonfruit, pear, mango. I've had other cocktails, and they are all delicious and made to order! Now for the food. The food that I've had has been flavorful and very good. Also, they have a lot of options that aren't very heavy if you're looking for some lighter options. When I went for brunch, I had the Hippie Hash Bowl, and it was delicious. I didn't want anything too heavy, but still breakfast-related, and it was perfect for that. For dinner the last time I went, I had the Creamy Chicken Penne Pasta with Cajun seasoning and blackened chicken. I was trying to decide which dish to order, and my server suggested adding Cajun seasoning and blackened chicken to the dish, and boy was it delicious. I did not intend to eat the entire meal, but it was too good to stop. I've also always had great service with friendly staff who are eager to help. I'll definitely be back!

We showed up early with our 1.5 year old daughter and they were able to seat us immediately. The area felt spacious, although that could be due to the fact that it wasn't super packed inside. I ordered the short rib benedict, my husband got the chicken & waffle sandwich, and we ordered my daughter a side of the mac & cheese. What a delicious meal! The short rib was tender and flavorful, and sat on top of a biscuit (what's not to love here?!) - horseradish hollandaise was the perfect touch as the horseradish pairs nicely with the beef. The chicken & waffle sandwich was the best guilty pleasure! Waffle crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, chicken breaded and fried with a nice crunch, and a nice hot honey syrup to go alongside -- wish this had a little more heat. To our surprise, the mac & cheese side was a highlight too! It's hard to get a good mac n cheese, but this had such a rich, white cheese, slight funk flavor - delicious. Brunch at Parkside is delicious. Looking forward to trying dinner here soon.

We came in today with reasonable expectations after finding the restaurant online and seeing mostly positive reviews. We ordered several items to share as a family: broccoli cheddar soup, a French dip sandwich with green beans, and poutine fries. Unfortunately, the broccoli cheddar soup was very bland and lacked seasoning. We had a few bites and ended up leaving the rest. The French dip was the standout of the meal. While the meat itself was a bit dry, dipping it in the au jus made it the most enjoyable and edible item we ordered. The poutine fries were disappointing. They were very basic and didn't resemble what I would expect from poutine--more like prepackaged frozen fries that had been deep-fried. We didn't finish them and left most behind, though we still paid for them. Our child wouldn't eat any of the food, so we ordered the fried ravioli appetizer, hoping it would be similar to versions we've had elsewhere. Sadly, that was another letdown. Although we were told there was no breading, the texture suggested otherwise. This was the one item we did send back. I wouldn't recommend this location for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities, as much of the food appears to be made from frozen or prepackaged items. That said, our server was absolutely wonderful--the highlight of the visit. She was kind, attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Her sweet demeanor and constant smile were honestly the reason we didn't complain more at the time. While I wouldn't return for the food, I might consider stopping by again strictly for drinks during a sporting event. Otherwise, this just wasn't the dining experience we were hoping for.

Unfortunately, the entire experience was overshadowed by the flies. There had to be at least 20 houseflies constantly buzzing around and pestering us throughout the meal. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the food. Whiskey Kitchen is normally a solid experience, but the excessive number of flies completely killed the mood today. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

Whoever sliced it from the "loaf" should have noticed it was not cooked before throwing it on the grill! We notified the manager when he came to apologize for the NY strip, so he took the meatloaf back to the kitchen. When the NY Strip came back out, my husband cut into it and it was shiny and purple inside, from top to bottom...absolutely rare. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert and it was very good, but that's the only thing I'd return for.
