What I really like about uptown grocery is when you walk in it's like walking into an awesome food court. Delicious fire roasted whole chicken.

Confirmed store hours and it being open.

Refused entrance - I arrived at 8:55 PM, walking up to the door at 8:56 PM the attendant named Ricky N. stopped me, arms crossed the doors, he said they were closed. I said, there's one thing right inside the front door I need to grab very quickly and I'll be out I don't need to shop at all I promise. He got angry and said "no it's after 9 PM" I said "it's before 9pm, and there are still customers" He said "not by my watch". I showed him my phone, clearly showing 8:56 PM and said one last thing; "this is the time on everyone's phones, coming from the national clock, believe". In response I was highly offended by him stating bluntly and in clear anger shouting "too bad and sorry about your luck i don't care, we're still closed!". That was entirely unnecessary, Mr. Ricky N. After this, I came back to my car, started writing this and remembered to screenshot the time (nearly after I could've already been done and back outside) I will not be visiting uptown grocery ever again.

Love their cheese board! August 2019

I'm always impressed with the selection of Uptown Grocery. They are a true full service grocery store, though I never remember they make custom cakes, fill helium balloons and offer half a dozen other services. They have grab & go stations serving pizza, sushi, ice cream, for example. They offer an extensive selection of jellies, cheeses, peanut butters, salad dressings, BBQ sauces & the like which cannot be rivaled by most other local stores. That said, I feel like all the extra services and options, while amazing , aren't needed for my weekly grocery store runs and just add to the cost of the basics. Great selection, lots of novelty items, and higher prices pretty much sums up Uptown. It's a great spot to run in if you need a handful of items, or are looking for pre-made grab & go food, or need speciality grocery services. For my weekly grocery needs you'll find me hunting lower prices elsewhere. May 2021

This is an awesome grocery store, especially for some harder to find items. The bakery offers so many delicious looking desserts, it is difficult to choose just one sometimes! The same could be said about their VAST cheese selection, except I never leave with just one type of cheese. Basically, Uptown is a cheese lover's paradise. That is my favorite thing about the store because I love to make cheese trays and try new cheeses, as well as my favorites. Ok, enough about the cheese! Uptown also offers a hot food section where you can get takeout food. If I lived or worked closer to the store, this would be a great lunch option. They also have very fresh produce, and a pretty extensive meat and deli area. All of this is in addition to all of the usual grocery store offerings. If you ever need any hard to find food items, Uptown Grocery is a great place to look. They have so many things that I have never seen in a regular grocery store.

I moved to Oklahoma City in May of 2020 and I've been looking for a really great grocery store. The grocery stores in this city are really different than other places I've lived and I needed a store where I could find shallots, a variety of mushrooms and other random more "fancy" ingredients. Uptown has it all! Although they do carry all the fancier ingredients the pantry section is full of your standards. I can literally get everything on my list when I shop at Uptown. The bakery section is extensive with robust ordering options and beautiful and delicious confections. The prepared foods section reminded me of whole foods with all the options of salads, entrees and sides. I wanted to try everything! The store is really large and has such a great selection of everything you want in a grocery store! It's well maintained and has really reasonable price points. I only wish it was 5 minutes from my house instead of 30! :)

Uptown Grocery has some of the best customer service from the bakery to the cashiers! Also, they make such beautiful cakes for such a great price!

So in love with this store!!! So many awesome things about it make me wish I lived closer and could do all my food shopping here! Amazing selection in produce, meat, deli and bakery OH MY the bakery looks fantastic! The only thing I thought could be better is a wider selection of Local brews. Prices were great and many items were on sale, marked down way less than the competition. I was talking about the store to my coworkers and one of them said that Uptown will even cook the meat you buy from them!?!? Unbelievable! I'll be stopping in weekly on my way to work.

    The look drew me in

I was drawn by the aesthetics of the exterior, but found my eyes hurt when I walked inside. The front gives the whole Oklahoma, vintagely new vibe, which is quickly destroyed by the bright, poorly paired colors coating the walls. I'm sorry, there's nothing royally pleasing about royal purple and blue together. The combo really cheapened the look and my expectations. However, color scheme aside, the contents of the store are clean, organized, and appealing. I wasn't there for lunch, but I might come back for the whole-foods-esque hot bar. I also appreciate that it is locally own and run. You don't find that often anymore in a grocery store. I wish it was in a different location because I think that square mile (or two) is oversaturated by Sprouts, Homeland, Natural Grocery and one by Chick-fil-a that I can never remember the name of.

Pruett's Food May 22, 2026…read more (2/5) I want to start by being completely fair to this store, because it absolutely earned it on first impression: Pruett's Food has one of the most striking and genuinely unique interiors I have ever seen in a grocery store. Walking in, you're greeted by a dramatic cluster of glowing red orb lights suspended over the snack aisle, a massive artificial ivy tree built right into the center of the floor as a centerpiece, the word "HEARTY" spelled out in hedge-style topiary lettering, glowing neon department signs over sections like the juice area, and lush greenery, ferns, and floral displays scattered throughout. There were even framed western-style portraits lining one of the walls, giving the place a real sense of character and identity. The seafood case was beautifully arranged and generously stocked with crab, salmon, shrimp, and more, all garnished with greenery and presented like something out of a high-end specialty market. The fresh marinated meat case was just as impressive, with variety marinade chicken drumsticks at $1.59 a pound and a whole spread of seasoned wings, kabobs, and skewers that genuinely looked fantastic. The produce section was bright and full, with watermelon slices, blueberries, and seasonal fruit on attractive curved wooden display racks, and sale prices throughout the store were strong. On atmosphere, merchandising, and presentation alone, this place is a 5-star experience, and you can tell real money and real thought went into the design. That is exactly why what happened next was so disappointing. I picked up a jar of Miracle Whip during my visit, and when I got home and looked at the packaging, it was stamped "Best When Used By 14MAY2026." My visit was on May 22, which means the product I was sold was a full eight days past the date printed right on it. Selling something already past its labeled freshness date isn't a tiny oversight to me, and it stings even more in a store that has so clearly invested in looking fresh, abundant, and premium at every turn. What really drives it home is the company's own slogan, printed right on their shopping bag: "Home of the ProFRESHionals." When a grocery store builds its entire brand and its gorgeous interior around the idea of freshness, and then sends a first-time customer home with an out-of-date product, the polish starts to feel like a façade. All the orb lights, topiary lettering, neon signs, and beautiful display cases in the world don't matter if the basics of stock rotation and date-checking aren't being handled on the shelf where it actually counts. A single jar slipping through wouldn't end the world on its own, but as a first impression it immediately made me wonder what else on those shelves isn't being checked, and that doubt quietly followed me through everything else I'd already put in my cart. It's a genuine shame, because the bones of this place are excellent. The atmosphere is fun and distinctive, the meat and seafood departments looked top-tier, the produce was inviting, and the pricing was competitive. If the freshness and stock practices matched the presentation, this would easily be one of my favorite stores in the area, and I'd happily make it a regular stop. As it stands, the gap between how good it looks and the expired product I actually carried out the door is just too wide to ignore. My honest advice to anyone shopping here is to enjoy the atmosphere, but check the date on every single item before it goes in your cart and again at checkout. Freshness should be the store's responsibility, especially for a place that puts the word right in its own name. I walked in genuinely impressed and hoping I'd stumbled onto a new favorite, and I walked out, unfortunately, with no plans to return.

I've visited twice now, and both times it was difficult to find items. When I asked an employee where the protein bars were, I was directed to the cleaning products aisle. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many employees available on the floor to help customers, so you often have to walk all the way to the front just to ask a question. I understand employees can't know everything, but basic knowledge of the store layout should be part of customer service. This feels more like a management issue than an employee issue, because proper training starts at the top. Also, I was very surprised to learn they do not accept credit cards. In today's world, that's extremely inconvenient and something customers should be clearly aware of before shopping. Overall, if you're a new customer, be prepared to spend extra time finding what you need.
