I shop at Crest on Rockwell at least once a week but I also have to go across the street to Wal-Mart for items Crest doesn't carry. I like the produce here but seldom buy meats. I like their selection of dairy products but have to go across the street for Danone Probiotic Yogurt Drinks, which my cardiologist highly recommended. The worst part of shopping at Crest is the handicap parking. Very few spaces and they are always taken! read more

What a frustrating experience!! Typically I like to shop at Crest and I usually have a checker scan my groceries - I like having someone scan & bag my groceries. Today however, was a different story, I'm 10 item person today so I hit the self checkout. What a mistake! First few items scanned just fine got to the produce and I scan the bar code and what do I hear item not recognized please set aside. Ditto for the next few items. Now keep in mind this is a 25 items or less - that small shelf to put groceries on is so bogus! I get a Crest employee and he started in scanning the items that were rejected. I swear it took longer for me to scan my own items! In my opinion use the checker!! They scan & someone bags your groceries. All that is left is to scan your card & complete the payment! read more

Average grocery store. First, be aware, if you have a sensitive nose, much of the store smells like the inside of a butcher or meat packer, bloody meats. Pretty gross. Prices aren't as great as I'd hoped, pretty much a wash with Walmart. Produce here is priced on the high side. I still wish they'd open a Winco in this part of town. It would be a perfect fit. One trick I've found here...they push higher priced items. Sometimes the less expensive brands I find hidden in weird places. For example, last visit I found the best value tortilla chips hiding on an endcap by the processed deli meats. NOT in the chips section where they belong. Weird huh? I find cheap items placed at odd locations here all the time. So it can't be a coincidence. Just be diligent and search the entire store for the best buys. A few more negatives...I also find the store feels very barebones and plain, kinda dated and boring. I do like that they bag my groceries here, though only paper is annoying (I recycle my plastic bags). The one time I needed service here the worker was clueless. Deli section lacks. They could put out more fresh items and discount items nearing use-by date. Cheese selection is below average. They've copied higher end grocers and added a sushi chef, but I have yet to try it here. I believe on Tuesdays sushi is 50% off. Overall, value could be better, but it's an okay place to grocery shop. EDIT: I've now tried the sushi. Avoid it! See my tip. read more

I've shopped at Crest in Edmond, Yukon and this one in North West OKC. As a whole, Crest is a decent grocery chain. One of the best in OKC, and compared to other chains in the country, still very good. This store on N Rockwell Ave just doesn't compare to the others in the area. I showed up on Monday at around noon, and they still hadn't restocked it from the weekend. You definitely don't want to show up on a Monday morning if you need to buy vegetables. I saw several people looking frustrated over the low stock and poor quality. Everything else was fine until I got to the dairy dept. The milk I wanted was out of stock, but I could see there was milk behind the shelves that hadn't been put out yet. I guess I could have asked if they had my milk in back, but the employee to the right of me who was working in that department was having a very animated conversation with some poor customer. Apparently he feels very strongly that the country is not being run correctly and somebody needs to do something about it. After the third declaration that somebody needs to do something about it (presumably him), I drifted off from that department and went to check out. Crest employees for the most part are fantastic. Check out was a breeze and I was out the door in no time. In the future I'll probably drive just a little further though and get my groceries at the Yukon Crest or at Sprouts. I like a calm experience when I shop and both those stores offer that. read more

Ok Walmart shoppers, here is something refreshing for you. Went to Crest last night about 930pm and it was an awesome experience. While shopping, we were actually asked several times from the stockers if we needed help finding anything- imagine that- people actually volunteering to help you while you shop. We proceed to checkout and the cashier along with the lovely lady sacking out groceries provided super entertainment. I had a couple of heavy items that I offered to scan for her and she refused- said she wouldn't do it. Somewhat hurt given I have my Walmart scanning training, we all had a good laugh. This was the most pleasant shopping experience ever- lol. I certainly will shop there more often now! read more

If you're going to use self-service checkout lines then you need to have machines that work. The machine that we were on shut itself off every three items and while looking at the other lines where they had a human being checking out 10 people went through the checkout line in the time it took us to work through the incompetencies of the automatic scanner. Crest has some great deals and their prices are super competitive. There are things they sell at a lower price than Walmart and if you consider the fact it is quite impressive. If you're a regular them you discuss "the cart". "The cart" is a bargain and the items change regularly, and you can find these items just inside the entrance in a cart or two or three with a super blow out price on random items. They have a lot of meat and seafood to choose from and their produce is good. They have. Dry goods are with nuts and grains be stuff like that. read more

We do our weekly grocery shopping there each week and always have the best interactions with their cashiers but today really solidified my love for Crest. I put in a product request for a creamer I have REALLY wanted to try. No joke- in less than 5 minutes I received a call from the store manager to let me know they had the product. We used to shop at Crest Foods when we lived in Oklahoma a few years ago. Now that we're back, we usually go to Winco vs. Crest. Today was our 2nd time shopping at Crest. The first time, we were charged 2/$6 for 5 Hour Energy when they were on sale for 2/$5. My husband told the cashier to not worry about it. I prefer self-checkout vs. having to watch the cashier and then check my receipt before I leave the store. And, this is why.... Today, I did neither, and I was overcharged around $7 (Dupe charge for baking pan & did not receive sale price for Tully's K-cups). Management wanted to argue about a 99 cent return WITH receipt on an item I had less than 24 hours. It was a frozen dinner that had a bizarre texture and was likely due to improper storage on their part. Everytime I pull into this crest lot I'm thinking why am I not at Trader Joe's? Then I walk in and I'm full of ahhh.. I have a love of grocery stores since being a stay at home mom maybe because we go through food like crazy and I cook every single day? I'm not sure. Anyways a friendly guy who gives you your cart will greet you on the weekends. Right when you walk in, to the left is the deli counter with plenty of selection with the best prices and several meats are always on special. Way better than target, or anywhere else! This store takes coupons so along with their store sales you can get great prices. Clean store wide isles and friendly checkers. You never ever see people waiting in life forever because they always staff more than enough checkers which is so important and they have baggers who ask you if you need help to the car. Had an Instacart order from here where I bought some yogurt. I ordered 9 containers of yogurt and all but 2 expired a month ago and the one I tried that wasn't expired, tasted a bit off. Like I know it was the shopper that grabbed the yogurt but why were there so many expired items available? That's pretty frustrating and gross. read more

I like this crest, but it isn't as great as the fresh market location on 104th and S May that I used to live by.. Crest has most of the essentials, but a lot of produce runs out when I shop. They also have Halo Top ice cream which is a major plus! I eat a ton of Amy's frozen meals and Halo Top ice cream, and Crest has them both. I wish they carried more specialty items like their other location, but I'm glad that I have a Crest nearby me. The prices are competitive and everything is pretty well-organized. Two weeks ago I made the mistake of not driving the extra mile down the street and stopped at a homeland to get a few things on the fly and was appalled at the prices. I started shopping regularly at this Crest Foods since I swore off WalMart a couple of months ago. The difference in quality, cleanliness and service is like night and day. And in many cases, the prices are either better, or the price differential is negligible compared to Wally World. I love their Deli, and get all my sandwich stuff there. They have also introduced organic produce and bulk foods such as brown rice, granola and other hippy-type stuff into their product mix, which saves me a longer drive to my other favorite store, Sprouts. But their meat market is the star of the show in my opinion. I worked in a meat market for 2 years in high school, so I know a little bit of what to look for. They have both choice and prime beef - prime isn't very common in most grocery stores and you damn sure won't find it at Mao Mart. Actually, all of their meats are generally of much better quality than...yep you guessed it. Dead horse beating in progress... So what's not to like? It's very clean, prices are competitive, quality is WAY better and best of all you don't have to queue up behind half a dozen people with full baskets waiting to get checked out. I've never had to wait very long at all. If you live nearby, give it a try - I bet you'll never go back to that other place. read more

Not that it is the best store on the planet, but it would sure be better than all the "neighborhood (not really at all) walmarkets" we have over here. I mostly just go to Braum's if there's a remote possibility we can get what we need there without having to go to the crummy B4L over here. And don't even get me started on the busted-ass Homeland over here. It needs to either be completely overhauled or put out of its misery. Okay, but enough about all that. If I'm over at my parents' house, I hit the Crest for produce, meats, bread, and any processed stuff I need (not that any of us need to be eating most of the middle of any grocery, but a girl's gotta have her Honey Bunches of Oats, you know what I'm sayin'?). This place has most of what we need, but of course organics are still more of a novelty at this store and you pay novelty prices. They do seem to keep prices pretty low overall, and I like that they buy as much as they can from meat and dairy producers in-state. The cashiers are friendlier here than at some other grocers, so I hope that means they are paid and treated well. Never again. Crest should advertise for a free case of COVID with any purchase. During an early morning, theoretically safer, run to stock up for the month, I found a majority of employees not wearing masks, including people working in the meat market. The store was literally crawling with maskless stockers, two of whom appeared to find my attempted avoidance of them incredibly funny. There is no way management is not sanctioning this behavior. One has to wonder how many other health and safety requirements they feel it is okay to flaunt. I have been a Crest customer for over 40 years, but never again. This is my go-to grocery store. I can always find my general groceries, but nothing really specialty. They don't have many choices, but that's fine by me! You can't beat their prices and deals anywhere, except maybe the store brand at Aldi. I love the smaller baskets! I rarely fill up the big carts and I subconsciously buy more when I have that extra room. Crest is okay for picking up everyday stuff....but you must look at the expiration dates as I have found many things which are expired on the shelf. One issue I do have is with the folks behind the deli counter. I encounter a young man there this weekend that was a jerk. When I asked to see the piece he was going to slice from he looked at me like I was crazy..he said he had been to culinary school for 2 years and no one has ever asked that question?????? Overall the staff is diverse and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Love seeing what's in the markdown carts when I stop by. Sometimes it's a special I didn't know they had. Sometimes it's kill pricing items to move the off shelves. Either way is great for me! The deli and bakery have so many fresh breads and munchy items. Their fried chicken is one of my faves. And there is usually a good assortment of hot breakfasts in the morning. Right now so many seasonal items, pies, specialty jams, cheeses galore! It's hard to not buy something from there. I can usually find a new-to-me product every time I go shopping for groceries. I also really like their produce department. Crest stinks. Literally. You walk in and it smells of low tide and blood. Every single time I go in. It's nauseating. I grew up on Crest, their other locations are great but I have no idea what the issue is. It's almost like the AC intake is right over the butcher. Today was not an isolated occurrence. There are some pro's and con's with this store. So I figured I'd list a few here. Pro's: Their deli section is pretty well stocked Their prices are lower than Homeland The store is clean and comfortable The inventory is decent Con's: The neighboring stores and parking lot are less than desirable. The traffic on Rockwell near this intersection is extremely busy and sometimes dangerous. The layout of the store isn't the easiest to navigate. BIGGEST CON (and I hope they revise this) --- THEY HAVE NO GLUTEN FREE SECTION. If you want to buy anything gluten free - YOU HAVE TO WALK THE WHOLE STORE TO FIND ANYTHING. And then you have to hope it's in stock or that they even carry it. It's for this reason alone - I am willing to pay more money at Homeland so that I can make a quick trip in and out to get what I need. I don't have an hour to spend trying to find something that could be anywhere among who knows how many aisles and shelves, when Homeland has a GLUTEN FREE section. I really wish Crest would provide this huge benefit to their customers, as I'd shop there more than once a year and probably save a ton of money. read more

Mel was rude and short tempered. When I tried to line all the same soft drinks together on the conveyer belt for her she said i should have just left them in the cart, then she knocked them over as I tried to put them back in the cart she bursted out "too late". As I presented my tax exempt card she made a comment "you should have prestthis in the beginning". Title: The Games People Play The store labels its pricing as "Rock Bottom." But in my view it is tricky pricing, three for five dollars, five for six dollars and so on. Compare this to Wal-Mart, which prices much of its merchandise by the ounce. Yes, you can compare many items by the ounce, not everything, but a great deal, which helps. Okay, take bacon, which is confusing because some packages are a pound and some are 12 ounces yet look almost the same, but you can make your comparison by having the price per ounce.
