They have a wide variety of insteresting beer and liquors and the service was great. A liquor store is a liquor store, right? Wrong. Here's why I bravely cross the state line to come…read morehere. 1. Unmatched selection. Anything available in southern Indiana is available here. A good selection of wines and booze, but for my money, it's bitchin for brew. Countless imports, plenty of micros from around the country, and when New Albanian has a special release, it's guaranteed to be on these shelves. 2. You can mix and make your own six pack. This can be hugely beneficial when you're staring at a fridge with ten kinds of pumpkin ale that look identical. 3. Indiana ain't Kentucky, and consequently, their distributors carry brands that don't find their way across the Ohio, including some Indiana brewers (e.g., Sun King) and some national (New Belgium). 4. They periodically schedule free tastings, usually with representatives from the brewery/winery/distributor present. Wine tastings about once a month. Seasonal beer tastings several times a year. When I walked in they were pretty busy, but I was able to find a seat at the bar without issue. The restaurant had great ambient lighting and there was one side of the room were the The bartenders immediately came by with water and menus for me. I ordered the sticky rice cocktail because it looked interesting and it was delicious! I had to work hard to not down it all in one sitting. For my main dish I got the fried chicken gumbo which was my whole reason for coming here. It was delicious and the people next to me saw me dancing joyfully as I ate and ordered their own For desert I had the sweet potatoes, which I had never tried in this form, and of course I loved them as well. If you're in town make sure you check them out!

Next the oyster happy hour with peach vinaigrette was mind altering. The oysters were fresh and the sauce was inspiring. I ordered the hanger steak and wasn't very happy. Im a steak and frites girly but it wasn't the star of the show.. it's the catfish with slaw and milk bread. My favorite items there. The drinks are also amazing. Its a smaller place not housing more than 40 or so but make a reservation. Its worth the experience.

Great ambiance and decor, feels rustic and chic at the same time! Comfortable chairs which is rare to find anymore. We were seated at a low table in the room at the front which was nice as it was quieter than the big open restaurant in the main part. My mom and I had a great lunch! The attentive waitress shared that the chef was new and it was a new menu. There were so many fabulous choices on the menu it was hard to choose. Goat cheese burger, fish and chips, Brie and jam grilled cheese, Nashville hot chicken, just so many things sounded good. I opted for the Nashville hot chicken, it was moist chicken breaded and nice and crisp, with a creamy slaw and a chili oil drizzled on it for more spice, then it also had habagardil pickles on it, the best pickles I have ever had! Only a couple places use these local pops habagardil pickles and they are spicy and delicious. The sandwich was delicious on a brioche bun. Messy, and magical this sandwich was. The fries were so good it was hard to stop eating them! My mom had the blueberry jam and bacon Brie grilled cheese with a drizzle of balsamic glaze, and she eats very little but she devoured this sandwich and also loved the fries! The tomato basil soup also looked good! I will have to become a repeat customer because I need to try that goat cheese burger and the salmon bowl, well, and every single entree on the menu!! Bringing friends back soon!! The chef here is creating some amazing food!! The only issue we had was finding parking. She uses a walker and the only place we could find to park was handicapped over at a neighboring restaurant and it was a bit of a walk for someone with mobility issues. Front doors are heavy, and you have to open both doors for it to be wide enough for the walker to go through, so getting in wasn't easy. Food amazing, accessibility challenging.
