Decided on pizza for dinner so I checked on yelp and found this spot. Looks good and wanted to give it a try since I'm working out of town and didn't want to drive so delivery it was. My favorite is the artichoke lovers!!! I don't live in thier delivery area which is probably good for my waste line, but they are on my home from work. I order be fore I leave and the 15 minutes it takes me to get from my office there it's hot n ready. Always greeted with a smile and friendly attitudes. You won't be disappointed. I've been only once, by chance with a bunch of friends because they had a gift certificate. We ordered a Mediterranean, an all Meats, a cheese, sundried tomato special, and an antipasto salad. All very tasty, no greasy crust, not too thick. We like to support local businesses, not big chains, so we tried a variety of places in Oxnard when we moved here last summer and have settled on Uptown as our go-to. (Avoid Pizza Chief and Pizza Man Dan!! No good. Toppers is okay, I don't get the huge following for it...) The Bacon Deluxe pizza is our favorite--with the special sesame crust. Have also tried their regular and thin-crust create your own pizzas-- the regular crust is better than the thin. Have always found them to be generous with the toppings. Delivery is almost always less than the time they quote and the drivers are friendly. We usually get a garden salad to go with our pizza-- it's nothing fancy, but we've always found it to be fresh. They've messed up our order once. The driver was already gone when I realized the mistake, so I called Uptown. They offered to send out a replacement pizza ASAP or provide us a credit for our next order. I opted for the credit and when I called in to use it about a month later, they honored it. It's clearly a well-run, family business and I'm happy to support them. Check out all the coupons and deals on their website--while they are quite old, they will still honor them and many are a really good deal if you need more than one pizza or want a salad or other side to go with your pizza. read more

We don't live in the area but have been going to Oxnard for my dog's medical treatment..found this online and WOW! this is a find! I live in Calabasas and we have NO great pizza any where near..so when I got a craving..I'll drive 30 min to Uptown Pizza.. EXCELLENT dough...quick..ordered it was ready 10 min later..this is NOT your franchise joint..it's the real deal! I'm going to go heat up my last slice right now! I came here cause it's close to work and read some of the reviews. I think I should have driven a little further to toppers and would have been satisfied with my meal. I ordered the lunch special, personal pizza and salad. The salad was so mediocre, I could cry. It had iceberg lettucce, a few slices of olives and what seemed to be about 3/4 f an artichoke.The pizza was good but I definitely have had better. I wouldn't mind paying what I paid but for that salad I felt robbed! Service was blah. The owner kept staring at me like I was someone from another planet. Wouldn't say a thing or smile, just stare. Very weird guy. Probably won't be going back, unless pizza hut, dominos, toppers and little caesars goes out of business and this is the only pizza place left on earth. read more

I love Uptown Pizza! One of my favorites is the Greek Salad with Chicken added. The romain lettuce is always fresh, crips, & beautifully green. I order this lunch special because it includes fresh baked bread sticks with a side of red sauce. The serving size is generous, so you are most definitely getting your tummy full & your money's worth. Another favorite of mine is the Spinach Lovers personal size pizza, also served during lunch hours. It's loaded with brightly colored veggies, like spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic & artichoke hearts. Sometimes I'll also request to add chicken or sausage. The sausage has just the right amount of spice to give it a bit of a kick, which I really like. The owners are such delightful people, & you can tell their love is put into their food. Try it! I was in Oxnard on business...well, basically I was there unplanned overnight, stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, and took a walk down to the 7-11 for snacks, while waking around the block, I noticed Uptown Pizza and picked up a menu. I ordered after getting back to the hotel. A VERY short time later (they are right down the street, so...yeah) MARTIN, the best pizza delivery driver ever, shows up at my hotel room door with a pizza that tastes like it was made by God himself.
