Food- I haven't at the Jersey Mike's in ages and I was very looking forward to my chicken cheese sandwich; I couldn't have been more disappointed. When I got home and tasted it it tasted nothing like I remembered. They must've changed something. Service- the young man at the counter was anything but friendly. I thought he was downright rude. Ambience - it's fine nothing to write home about but it's a fast food sandwich joint. Calling it a Club Sub is generous -- it barely qualified as a BLT with commitment issues. There was so little turkey and ham I'm not convinced they were ever in the building. Lettuce was apparently on vacation, and the 3 tomato slices were working overtime on this "giant" sandwich. For $20, I expected a meal. Instead, I got an expensive loaf of bread with trust issues. And after about 6 mins standing there one employee says "how can I help you" We asked what types of bread they had and were told white was unavailable. We asked how fresh the breads were and one employee answered with her head down "made daily" we wanted to know if it was soft or hard. By this time 8 other customers walked in. Had the misfortune of ordering a "mini" sandwich at this location. Once I overcame the rudeness of the minimum wage goons taking my order, I was faced with the minuscule portion afforded me with this just over a 4" sub sandwich. The portions were bad enough but when I made the mistake of ordering, at a $2 additional charge, for the avocado I was amazed at how thin the avocado spread was, you could actually see bread through the thinly spread smear. Given the other low ratings and my experience, I won't darkening their door again and will spread the word of cheap and chintzy this owner really is and is certainly not interested in customer satisfaction or providing value for your money. I usually don't like sub places but I like Jersey Mike's. I usually get the Turkey Provolone Mike's Way. That is what I got after a walk at Seabridge. I was so hungry , I failed to take a picture. Clean spot and great service. Young man that helped me had great customer service! Only sub place we get sandwiches from. I think this is the only Jersey Mike's left in Oxnard. So sad :/ we used to have at least two/ three more. I love the location where this one is because walks here are so relaxing. Last note- I really like supporting this business because of the history behind it. I read a 17 year old kid (the founder) asked his coach for a 100k loan to start his own sub business and he believed in him so much he said yes. He's wasn't even 18 years old for him to find that support in an adult that wasn't a relative, says he showed great character. Look at Jersey Mike's now, a billion dollar business from a locally owned shop in Jersey. Been here once before. It was my sons first time. And both our first time having a hot sub. We assumed it was made the same as the cold where you can customize what toppings. We ordered and let them know it's our first time. We stood and waited to pick our toppings. A bag came out and our food was already prepared. As always Jersey Mikes provides a yummy and fresh sandwich experience! They never disappoint! This particular location is in the very busy Seabridge mall Next to Vons and the parking is always crazy crowded but still a small hassle and worth it! The reason for the 3 stars is because their sandwich assembly line is seriously lacking! They have one person assembling the sandwiches and a long line of people backed up and I was next and the one person making sandwiches grabbed a handful of "waiting to be assembled" sandwiches that must've been called in or online orders? Personally I think they should have a 2nd person helping on the assembly line so they can keep the line moving especially during lunch time? There actually was a couple other people, 1 working the register and the other next to him-wrapping and bagging the orders and he could've stepped in to help as the line was pretty backed up w/people waiting for their subs to be assembled. I contacted customer service for a refund so they forwarded my email to the management. Haven't heard back.
