Ah the old swap meet located at the drive in theatre in Concord…read more I grew up around here and have countless memories of both. We went on a Sunday- $1.50 per person. Back in the day it was different, at least in my mind, it was more wholesome. People selling their goods or crafts. Almost immediately I was very aware that much of the stuff I was seeing for purchase was also the reason all of our stores now have everything locked up. Cleaners, laundry soap, odd assortments of random new stuff. There were still some decent vendors. I bought a few crystals. Keep in mind you can barter here. I also very much enjoyed talking to a regular vendor there that makes and sells these adorable Mexican cowboy boots and dresses. I am going to come back to get my granddaughter a cute little outfit. There were also some isles that were just piles of crap ran by some questionable seeming folks. I actually purchased one of my rocks from one of these sellers, I got it for a dollar because it was covered in something gross. It is awesome after I cleaned it up. Glad my husband went over and looked through that pile! I would absolutely come back just to wander most likely in summer. Oh and food trucks lining the outside are the way to go if your hungry although the theatre food was open too.

Several vendors sell similar things. There is produce, children's toys, clothing, tools, furniture, plants, some electronics. It felt a bit like a free for all. There didn't seem to be much organization in where the vendors go except all the produce vendors were in one place. So you'll spend some time wandering around. For food there were some Mexican food trucks, Lee's Chinese and American food (x2), an ice cream cart, and Agua Fresca. We got one medium agua fresca and a bottle of water ($9 total). It was fun to check out but I probably won't come here regularly unless I know I'm in search of something very specific like produce or tools.

Did my siblings and I get a cow and panda cobija from a hustler? You bet we did. Did I buy a mug I shouldn't have gotten cause I have a mug problem? Sure thing. Did the produce vendor manage to sell me cilantro? No but I got some chungus guavas for the week, so I'm happy. I find some of the low reviews here funny mainly because it's a flea market, cause what do you expect? Parking is 5 bucks but there is also street parking behind where you exit if you don't want to pay (as a lot of people do). I will say if you're here earlier in the day, it's def is crowded but around 1pm and beyond it tapers off. Beware - the chicken sticks are HUGE from the vendor by the entrance. One plate of chow mien and 4 sticks for 2 of my siblings and I and it a lot even for us! Thankfully my nephew came around and demoed the rest of our food so nothing was wasted. And yes they were yummy.

It is an easy show to set up, work, and pack up. I do it when I do not have another event scheduled. Unfortunately that may only be once a year. I came here to see what her next show date is as I would like to sell this weekend or one of the next 2 weekends. Unfortunately, her next show is Fathers Day & I have set that aside as a family day. This is also a rebuttal to another Yelper's review: 1) It is NOT a food festival. It is in a City park. There must be at least 10 (probably 15-20) restaurants within 1 block in all directions. Among them is the high quality Skipolini's Pizza & the very popular Spaghetti Factory. It is an antique faire with some new products. I doubt that the City even allows her to have food vendors. The bureaucracy with the Health Dept also can be an unnecessary headache. We always eat at Skipolini's after we close our booth. It is part of why I like coming here...the good local food. 2) The City controls the rent in the sense that they do not give her the space for free. I've never known a govt agency to underprice rent & they usually inflate the rent. He claims that she charges $90 rent. I visited her website & see the posted rent is $75. 3) The Yelper complained that a Seller didn't accept his offer. Wow. It is not a flea market. Perhaps the Seller knows the market value better than this Yelper? His complaint didn't seem to be focused on one Seller but several. That tells me that he has unrealistic ideas. 4) The Yelper also complained that there were not enough vendors. I agree the park could hold more vendors. I encourage other vendors to show. Perhaps since this Yelper sees the competition as having high prices...it may be an opportunity for him to sell & offer lower prices?
