Yes the food was just your average fried bar food... but I thought everything was super fresh and all came out very quick. The pizza, wings, and cheese curds were outstanding! We first started doing this in magical midway, but when that felt too rickety and unsafe, we started looking for other parks, and that's when we found fun spot! However, the manager swooped in and made everything a wonderful, enjoyable experience for the kids. It turned out that our table near the viewing area was the best seating. He decorated it with racing helmets, medals for the kids to wear, and reward trophies. They placed candies and goodies on each child's plate as a surprise and doubled their arcade credits. I could swear they even gave us a little extra food. The kids all had a blast! I have never seen them have this much fun, and we have done many parties in town. The parents of our guests were very impressed. We even noted that the food was much better than that of the other places we have been to (including other go karting businesses in the area). And they need plenty of outlets to power up these speedy electric go karts. This spot had immediate availability in the 5 O'Clock hour on a Saturday afternoon. We just missed the window for the one race so we had to wait 15 mins for the next one, which gives you a chance to watch some of the other races. I recommend purchasing the head sock as it lets the helmet glide on with ease. Prices are still kinda high for one race and I didn't see anything that looked like you saved money with more races. There are two tracks, basically and adult track and a child track. The carts can be pretty speedy, but they're controlled by big brother who seems to let the field drive at the pace of the field. On some laps, I felt I was going faster than on other laps. It's neat for the start/finish to slow down the cars, but I'd rather have full power the entire rest of the race. I could see myself coming here again as long as the crowds don't make it unreasonable. I guess if you did have a race time an hour or two away, there are many other things to do.

Besides the Auto Museum, Dezerland also features an arcade, escape room, bowling alley, bumper cars, lazer tag maze, ax throwing, and pool tables. Being of a certain age, we chose to visit just the Auto Museum. There are a variety of attraction packages available if you want to use one or several of the attractions. Everyone entering must fill out a waiver, even if you're visiting just the Auto Museum. The waivers are available online as well as advance ticket purchases. There is also a food court and several shops within the Dezerland complex. I'm not into cars myself but the Auto Museum was impressive. My husband especially loved seeing the vintage cars from the 1940s through the 1970s, although some of the cars shown preceded the 1940s. The displays include vehicles used in movies and popular culture. My favorites were the Mystery Machine and Herbie the Love Bug as I saw the movie Love Bug as a child. Besides cars, the museum also features vintage motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, fire trucks, police vehicles, post office delivery vehicles, subway cars, and buses. The backdrops, movies posters, pictures, and cardboard cut outs of the movie 'stars' and historical figures greatly enhance the experience. I can't imagine the time and energy it must have taken to amass this collection of vintage vehicles. We spent about two hours browsing the huge collection of cars but easily could have spent another hour or two here admiring the old time motor vehicles.

The young man was polite and help explain to my son how to work the go karts. "The happiest 5K on the planet" rings true for sure. 10,000 people in white, running, walking, skipping or dancing through a 5K and getting color splashed on them. Yep, that's a party. Check the FAQ page, it's hilarious. No time is kept, you just do this for fun so, serious runners, don't be serious about this one. There were families and people of all ages. You start off all clean and pristine in your all white attire and then each station throughout the course you get color bombed! You get SO excited when you see a station coming up with it's huge color arch, loud music and a cloud of color! So you throw a little party and get all color-fied at each station, all different colors, pink, yellow, blue, purple, orange, green. And then when you reach the finish line, there is a color party! You get a color packet in your registration and can use it at the party to celebrate crossing the line. Then they have a DJ and stage where they do more color bombs and give away goodies. Music happens and it's literally a colorful love moment. Everyone is dancing and throwing color, it's awesome! Grab a ton of friends and enjoy! This was one of the most fun events I have been to, I highly suggest you check it out.
