Always ask the chef what to order if you can. He recommended I order the gyro and it didn't disappoint. The staff was really friendly and provided good service from start to finish. I am giving a good review because it was a good experience but I do want to make it clear that THIS IS AIRPORT FOOD. Because it was made with care for the customer and my overall experience is good thats why I am leaving this review as a compliment to the staff. One thing I would suggest is toasting the bread on the pita because the sandwich was a bit softer than I would like but, it was still good. I landed in JFK for a layover on a recent trip to the East Coast. Since it was right smack in the middle of lunch time, I chose to get lunch at the nearest restaurant at my terminal and that was none other than Urban Crave. Urban Crave menu offerings consisted of various burgers and sandwiches. As typical of airport food, the prices are menu. Burgers are $20 and the sandwiches are $16. I chose to get a Bahn Mi sandwich for $16. All of their sandwiches come with house made chips or for an extra fee (no surprise there with the extra fee) you can get fries. The bahn mi was ok but definitely not something to write home about. The bread was rather hard and there was not too much chicken in there. Flavorwise it was alright but a little on the spicy side. The house made chips were a little on the bland side. Overall the food here is not quite something I would crave for but do-able for a small layover. read more

There is not much good food choices in this area of the airport, but this place was steady so decided to give it a try. The reviews were hit and miss. We grabbed a table right outside which is OK if you like people watching. When the doors open to board or deboard planes it can be cold and breezy. I grabbed a bud light and it was flatter than the runway, not worth it. I ordered the Urban Burger with Fries. The Burger was average, thick and juicy. Had good flavor, comes with white cheddar, lettuce, and tomato. The sauce wasn't my favorite. The fries were just average fries. The service was slow, so expect a wait. read more

This place is located in JFK terminal 4 which serves alcohol and sandwiches. I got the banh mi sandwich and wasn't expecting the flavor to be changed so much. The server was extremely nice and friendly and would check up on me every so often. Too bad the food was not to my liking. read more

So we get to the airport a little early Gate B 47 after a 45 minute walk to the terminal we were looking for somewhere to plant and have a drink and a bite to eat the only place in site was called urban crave. 4 hrs later eating almost everything on the menu and every cocktail you can think of . I am so happy we waited and did not stop at the other hundred places we passed to get here . Great place !!! Our first Waitress Jean was incredible as well as Jamie . I also noticed the people behind the counter were having great conversations among themselves, while at least 5 people sat at the bar area....and they were not talked to at all. It is not like they were ignored, but seriously.....the staff really had an opportunity to engage in conversation with customers.... It seemed like a big ole secret between the staff, and we as customers were not part of it. Just had drinks here... It took a bit too long for me to get any kind of attention. The employee who was closest to me noticed me sitting down, but he continued to wipe off the computer screen and work area rather than greet me. The couple next to me was obviously in a hurry to pay their bill and they had to practically harass the guy to get him to come over. I had just landed so I wasn't in a rush. Any other circumstance, I would've left. When I finally did order my beer, it took about 5 minutes for it to arrive. At this point, another employee comes over and he has great energy and sense of urgency. But isn't multitasking a basic part of a server's job? Girl, I can't. Where do I even begin? They have no desire to help customers. Rudest service I've ever experienced. If I could offer any constructive criticism, it would be to fire the entire staff, or close the restaurant for good. After reading other reviews, I was reminded that I had been here before. As for the food and drink: I asked for a Diet Coke, he brought me a piss warm Diet Pepsi. I ordered breakfast poutine, which should have been scrambled eggs over ribbon potatoes with cheese curds and gravy. What I got was scrambled eggs with some sort of shredded cheese over potato chips.
