Heath and his contractors did a phenomenal job converting our den into a media room, complete with speakers in the ceiling. We currently have them finishing our kitchen/dining/living room renovations. I'll be back with an update. UPDATE! it's been over 4 years and many dogs and cats and people and the finished floors have held up FANTASTICALLY! No bubbling or peeling up of the finish, they've sustained through cat and dog pee and poo, little kids spilling all sorts of things, I even spilled nail polish on the floor and used a little bit of acetone (I know I know) to clean it up and the finish wasn't affected at all! (I don't recommend this but it worked in my case) I'd still recommend them 100%! Very satisfied several years later. read more

A very shocking update to my prior post.... I discovered just hours ago that Urban Customs has decided to STEAL my original deposit of several thousand dollars. Yes... STEAL. Keep in mind, no actual flooring was installed as detailed in my main review, due to Heath changing his mind about refinishing my hardwood floors spontaneously. Apparently he does not want other customers to read my in-depth review of what happened, and Heath is holding my deposit money for RANSOM (which he previously promised to return). He has stated that he will only return it if I take down the truthful, albeit quite negative, reviews I have posted AND sign some mystery document, which is very very suspicious and shady. While I am not in a position to lose thousands of dollars, it is more important to make this valuable information available to others in the greater Phoenix area so they can avoid having to deal with this absolutely criminal behavior that Heath and Rachel at Urban Customs engage in. I want everyone to be aware that this is the type of "business" they run, and any cent you may decide to pay them, you may never see again, nor will you necessarily get the services you think you are paying for. I will be taking them to small claims court following this unbelievable experience, as well as other protective measures to ensure they cannot continue to cheat, threaten, and rip off others. read more

It pains me to leave a less than stellar review, but unfortunately the work performed by Heath @ Urban Customs will require us hire another company to finish the job he "finished". We hired Urban Customs to resurface and patch our existing bamboo floors, but in the end the result of their work was subpar. After they completed their work we were left with the following issues: - a floor with gaps between the planks - "floating" planks that are noisy. In spots you an actually watch the plank move/ give way with any amount of pressure. This movement has caused further damage to adjacent planks, causing those to split and crack. *Our floors were not creaky prior to this project* - tubes of filler (that were mismatched to our flooring) and we didn't know how to use. We were told "we could use it to fill any major gaps". These issues and others were brought up multiple times to both Heath and Rachel. Instead of addressing and fixing the issues we were met with a list of reasons and excuses as to why they would not or could not fix and finish our floors. We were also told how their work and the end result was completely acceptable. As small business owners we wanted to support a fellow small business, but when it comes to flooring I would not recommend this company to anyone. They lack attention to detail and leave projects unfinished. read more

I met and worked with Heathe to get my kitchen, living room, dining room, office space, and main entrance installed with luxury vinyl plank flooring as well as 3 bedrooms carpeted. He couldn't have made the process for choosing the best plank any easier, the install went smoothly, and the finished product looked unbelievable. I live out of state and when I was having technical issues paying the final amount when the work had been completed, Heathe was an absolute friend by working well and being more patient than I would've been while we sorted a way out to get the final amount due over to Urban Customs. We hired them to lower our two tiered countertop and install new quartz countertops. Everything was going good until out counter cracked a few months after install. They won't respond to anything even though the counter is warrantied by the manufacturer. Beware that if anything goes wrong, they won't respond. read more

If you are looking for a company that installs flooring athis is the one to hire!!! We decided to replace our entire house (1600 sf) with waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring and new baseboards. Our home had a bunch of tile and carpet and one room had laminate. We were concerned with demoing out the tile. Rachel assured us that they would take every precaution to minimize the dust AND that they had a vacuum attached to their equipment that would keep the dust low. Both Heath and Rachel kept us up to date along the way. The estimation was 14 days at most. The actual time was 10 days! The floor looks absolutely wonderful and we couldn't be happier!!! Very awesome company to work with, they took great care with our furniture putting pads on the bottom so there would be no scratches. Explained everything and how to care for the floor. I deeply regret choosing this company to do my flooring. I hired Heath and Rachel's company to install wood like tile in my home. First, his crew did not include a single English speaking person and Heath did not stay to oversee their work. If I needed to tell them anything it was impossible. One of the members of the crew had a disability as well and he did not seem physically able to do the work, I felt badly for him. As I said, Heath did not stay to help with communication if I had questions or concerns about the work. After two days of work The company claimed there was another emergency project and dropped everything at my home. When they returned they were clearly rushing to get the work done. As a result, they did not spend as much time making sure the finishing touches were nicely done and any mistakes were seen to. Finally, when it was all done I found cracked tiles, smears on the baseboard, grout that was put in so badly it was uneven in places, discolored and thicker than it should be. I was told I had a life time warranty and any time I asked for something to be fixed, Heath's attitude was resistant, offended, and denied there were problems. When he reluctantly appeared to fix the mistakes he painted over tile cracks, left a mess, and then left without a word. I have repeatedly contacted through emails which have gone unanswered, through calls where they no longer pick up the phone. I strongly warn any potential customers to look elsewhere and avoid the grief that I have now been experiencing for three months. This company has lacked communication, common courtesy, professionalism and quality. All the things you would want and expect from any company. read more

Urban Customs has been a great company to work with on my home flooring project. The price was right in line with the competitors but I was impressed with their knowledge and no-pressure sales. Also impressive was that the estimate price was the final price, a crack in the slab was found and repaired/ground down for no additional charge. When I specifically asked the competitors about that situation they said it would cost extra. The floors and baseboards turned out wonderful and the support has been outstanding for the inevitable small things we found down the road. We had Urban customs install hardwood in our home and they are a great pleasure to work with. Heath and Rachel are honest and will help you with any questions to ensure you understand the process and get the best value for your money. Quality is the key on any job and that is what we received. Others will bid a job and tack on extra charges for things like baseboard removal, carpet removal, furniture moving... That was not the case with Urban Customs. There was a small area for touch up after completion and Heath came right away to repair and no questions of any kind. I highly recommend Urban Customs and the only way we could have been happier was if it were free. One thing to keep in mind when dealing with Urban Customs, the carpet and pad materials are taken to a recycle center rather than a landfill. That really meant a lot to me. read more
