Urban Deli is a hidden gem! The staff were super friendly, and the environment was absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite parts was the wall display featuring different local dogs--such a fun and personal touch! I stopped by to pick up lunch for myself and a couple of coworkers, and everything we tried was fantastic. I ordered the Smokin' SOBO, which was loaded with oven-roasted turkey breast, pepper jack, spring mix, red onion, tomato, and spicy mayo on plain ciabatta bread (next time I'll try the sun-dried tomato ciabatta). Every bite was perfection! My coworkers got the Little Italy Cold Cut, a classic Italian-style sandwich. Judging by how quickly they devoured theirs, it's safe to say they loved it as much as I did. I'm already planning my next visit--this place is a must-try! read more

Urban Deli: Overall - 8.5/10 Most things on the menu are good. Solid lunch place. Fairly cheap with a decent selection. More of a quick bite spot than a sit-down, just a heads up. I eat here for lunch at least once every other week and it does the job. The Food - 8.5/10: It's all pretty good. Some of the stuff is fresh, some of the stuff isn't but that's okay. This is more of a lunch or grab-and-go place so my standard for what I expect falls within that range for comparable places. I would say the food is above average for the shop style, quick bites, place this is. That is why I come back so much. Solid portions, Great wraps/bread options, and fresh veggies. I would really recommend any of the wraps or sandwiches they're all amazing. The Vibes- 6/10: Cute. You could drive or walk right by it. I don't think I have ever seen anyone actually eat in there, but there is room to sit. Most time's there is a line for pick up but they are quick. The Service-10/10: Everyone who works here is super nice. Never had any issues. Sometime's if it's busy they can- naturally- be held up a bit BUT they will always get to you. Even if I am standing around someone always asks if someone helped me. The Drinks- N/A: Never had any drinks from here. read more

Tried the smokin sobo panini and it was absolutely delicious!! They also carry my favorite brand of kettle cooked chips which made the meal even better. I saw they also carry fresh thb bagels with their breakfast sandwiches - can't wait to try that next! read more

Stopped in to order a bunch of sandwiches for a boat ride with friends a few months ago. It's a small space with a couple of seats outside to eat. Timing was on my side because there were only a couple people waiting to order before me. Just after I ordered, a flood of people came in. After I tried my sandwich I saw why it was crowded. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. I ordered a couple Chicken Caesar wraps and a turkey club. Everyone enjoyed their meals and asked where I got them. Loved the dog pictures they hang up inside! We stopped on our way home from walking the dog and the owner snapped his photo and brought him out some bacon! The food was as expected, tasted great and decent pricing. Service was quick and efficient. We will be back! read more

Once again Yelp has lead me to another treasure hidden in our fair city!!!!! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers' reviews I had to make it my business to travel to Federal Hill on my off day to see what this Urban Deli was all about. When I tell you it was worth all the hassle of trying to find parking on Light street during lunchtime. The service was quick, nice, & very helpful that's always going to get a return visit from me. But the Rueben I sank my teeth into stole my heart. Then the prices are the best part I got a Rueben, jalapeño chips, & a green tea for $17. Then the best part is it was nice enough outside for me to sit out front & enjoy my meal. This definitely another place that has won my seal of approval as a must try! read more

Tried to stop in here today. Actually went out of my way to patronize them. I walked in and there were three workers behind the counter. They all ignored me while I stood waiting to order. No other customers were in the store. Not even a simple hello welcome in or nothing. I waited still, nothing. So I walked out and went to Maria D's across the street. This is like an ever so slightly cheaper THB. I ordered on 08/01/2023, and got the Nova Salmon Bagel (on an everything bagel) and the Classic Breakfast Sandwich (on an everything bagel with turkey sausage). Everything was good. I wish they had actual pork sausage patties for the breakfast sandwich, but it was still good. The Nova Salmon Bagel was nearly identical to THB's Lox Sandwich, and I think it was at least a dollar cheaper here. 5 Stars. Would definitely order here again. read more

I needed something to eat after my brow appointment and I was ravenous. Checked Yelp and went with Urban Deli. The inside is very cute and I was greeted warmly and immediately. I got the SoBo panini on sun dried tomato ciabatta, extra cheese and added bacon. I also got a big chocolate chip cookie This sandwich is heavy! It is VERY thicc. Smelled great and the first bite was truly a marvel. Absolutely delicious. I was only able to finish half but the other half will be perfect later today. I took a bite of the cookie - also delicious. Crispier than I like (I like a chewy cookie) but it was very good. I'm really glad I stopped in. Def worth the visit. read more

4.8/5: a place where you should take your dog on a date if your significant other is annoying you due to stay at home orde This right here will cure either a hangover or the coronavirus. It is a little pricey but it's so worth it. After taking a bite out of this, it made me realize that I was missing something import in my life. I didn't know what it was until this savory panini hit the tip of my younger and my soul left my body. I know this is a small, local business, but their prices are truly ridiculous. $20 for a simple turkey panini and a small side of pasta salad. Both were fine, but nothing I'd ever go back for. Especially at those prices. Go to DiPasquale's, get a massive sub and a side for less $. read more

Jeff and I visit before every Raven's home game. Forget tailgating, Urban Deli serves the best sandwiches in all of Baltimore (and beyond). I always get the Smokin Sobo Panini. And it's the absolute best!!! Love the food and the terrific staff is a great bonus. They make my day! You can double the 5 stars (shown above) they deserve it. read more

We went here this morning for breakfast! This tiny place is popular! They offer Towson Hot Bagels and Zeke's coffee along with many other deli type items. The Bagels were soft and super delicious! The coffee was just average and tasted a bit chalky (could have been the cardboard cup). Things to know before you go!: 1. They don't take American Express. 2. They don't have seating inside, but if you go out the back door there is a cute little patio with tables! read more

Was in Baltimore for the day and craving a good sandwich for lunch. Like the kind of sandwich it doesn't make sense to make at home because you'd have to buy too many ingredients that would go bad before you used them all up. Found Urban Deli from Yelp and it was walkable from where I was staying so I came. Cute little shop decorated primarily with photos of neighborhood dogs. Was greeted upon entering and chose the Turkey club for my meal. DELICIOUS!! Best sandwich ever!! And a very large portion. Ate half in the shop at a little bar by the window and saved the second half for later. I will come back if I'm ever in Baltimore again. read more

Being from NY, I'm very critical so I couldn't give 5 stars, but for MD this place is pretty good! I recommend the BEC and the lox bagel with tomato added. For lunch I recommend the Smokin SOBO panini. Its great!! read more

I ordered the Reuben panini and a hash brown and the Greek salad. The panini was 'meh' at best. Almost no thousand island in sight, so the sandwich was bland. The hash brown was also bland and 'meh,' and I threw it away after two bites. It wasn't even crispy. The salad was ferociously chopped romaine (so the pieces of lettuce were little like you would expect in a salad making it difficult to eat) topped with a heavy hand of feta, like 12 WHOLE pepperoncinis, and some little chopped tomatoes. THAT'S IT. Oh and some onion slices I think. Whyyyy would a place put 3 pounds of WHOLE PEPPERS on a SALAD?! Not only was it terribly thrown together with absolutely COMICAL proportions of the items, but it was missing the olives and it was hard to eat. I wouldn't have paid $5 for this salad had I seen it first. This place is pricey and awful, and I just don't understand how a restaurant can have the audacity to be both bad and expensive. 10/10 will never eat here again and I recommend you find somewhere else also. read more

It seemed to me that finding a sandwich shop in Baltimore was a needle in a haystack. Well I have finally found it. Urban Deli would get 10 stars if the upper management at Yelp would let me. Their bread at Urban deli is on point, and the sandwiches are by far the best I've ever had. All the ingredients balance to a perfect note and will not disappoint anyone. I want to like this place. The food is good and everyone working there is friendly! But I can't help notice the obvious sanitation issues. For one, the staff can't seem to keep their masks on. Two, the gentleman making most of the sandwiches wipes and scratches his bearded face with his hands, gloved or ungloved, and doesn't wash them or put on a new set of gloves afterward. I even saw him put a gloved finger in his mouth to taste a sauce and go right back to preparing someone's food. That's seriously disgusting. I want to go back. I really do. But I've seen too much too often on too regular a basis that makes me question the cleanliness of the food. read more

My new favorite place for lunch! I've had the Harbor Ham (perfection), Powerhouse wrap, and a ridiculous amount of chocolate chip cookies. There was an incident where I had ordered the Powerhouse wrap from Grubhub, not knowing it had avocado on it (I'm allergic) as the Grubhub menu didn't have it listed as an ingredient. I took my first bite, noticed the texture and taste and realized avocado was indeed in this wrap. When I called to let them know they were so kind about it and even made me a new sandwich for free (y'all are amazing) and they immediately called Grubhub to make sure it was put on the list of ingredients, which it was, pretty much instantly. The staff here is really wonderful and kind and I appreciate them remaking me that wrap free of charge. They didn't have to do that because it was an honest mistake on the Grubhub menu, but they did, and even offered to drive it over to my work for me, all within 10 minutes. Food is amazing as is the staff and I can't recommend coming here enough. I'm salivating at the thought of that Harbor Ham and another 3 chocolate chip cookies. read more

Great deli! Been here twice and I got the same sandwich both times cause it was so yummy. I got the smokin sobo cause I saw it had spicy mayo which I love. The bread is good and you can tell the ingredients are fresh! It does take a while sometimes so I suggest calling ahead if you're taking it to go. Finally was able to stop by this morning for a Special Sunday Breakfast Feast to take to my grandson who is hospitalized. The food (Everything Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches and BLT's on toasted Sourdough) were just exceptional. Everything is handmade w fresh ingredients and great care. I have ordered sandwiches from here on several occasions couple for work. They make great sandwiches, no bad option. My favorites were the smokin sobo and sassy sagamore, and Smoothie is definitely healthier than it is tasty. The one I had tasted like plain yogurt. Torn about whether I recommend ordering it again. This place is right around the corner from my apt, so it's frequented quite a bit on lazy weekend mornings. We always call our order ahead because it sometimes get packed in there and the lady (who I think is the owner) is always cheery and friendly. Their breakfast sandwiches are ok. Big fan of their Nova Bagel (especially the price!!!) and the Smokin' Sobo is incredible - one of my boyfriend's fave sandwiches (and the guy really loves sandwiches.) All in all, decently solid neighborhood spot. read more

The place is really not clean and basically nobody inside (staff or customers) was wearing masks despite a city-wide indoor mask mandate. The prices here are quite high as anyone would expect from a convenience store and the products are all pretty low-quality generic brands. Unless you're very desperate go somewhere else. OK Natural foods is just around the corner, has a lot of similar items that are way better quality and lower prices. Plus it's a lot cleaner and everyone is always masked. If you can't get what you need there go to Safeway or Streets (each about a mile away).

I can confidently say that everyone that recommended this place was right. I had the Seoul skillet with pork belly, kimchi and mushrooms and wow, was it good! The flavors melted perfectly and it was the epitome of a well balanced breakfast. Service was fine - a bit slow, but they were incredibly busy, so I don't fault them at all for that. One thing I do hate is having to continuously ask for my water to be refilled, and I was left with an empty glass quite often but again, they were swamped so I do understand. Ambience is very interesting here, I don't know that I have ever been to a more eclectic restaurant. The decor is all over the place but it really does fit the vibe so I say this with zero negativity. It's quite tight in the space but that's totally fine. Overall I will 100% be coming back and would recommend anyone else do so.

I told her my name and she said it would be a few more minutes. The woman then stated talking to her coworkers.. nonstop chatter. All the while the back cooks were bringing up food. And they were bagging it. After about 10 minutes of waiting. I interrupted the chatter and asked if my sandwich would be coming soon (at this point it had been 20 minutes since I ordered). She then asked me my name again and then grabbed a bag that had been sitting in the counter for some time and handed it to me. No apology.. nothing to show my bag had been sitting there for the last 8 minutes while I waited and she as the "greeter" forgot to check on it. So overall I would say the one star given is generous for the service, and food I received from this store.
