As a long-time patient, I expected at least a basic level of professionalism and courtesy. Instead, I was made to feel like simply asking for clarification of out of pocket cost for replacement retainers was somehow an inconvenience to them. The hygienist (Juliet) insisted on optional procedures (laser, irrigation, and Arestin) for my wife before providing evidence-based SRP (Deep Cleaning), even though my wife's dental chart clearly showed 5 mm pockets and radiographic bone loss - early stage Periodontitis. When I requested to bypass these adjunct procedures and proceed straight to deep cleaning, they refused treatment for my wife, accused me of wanting them to commit insurance fraud as they wanted her to complete the optional procedures first. According to ADA/AAP guidelines, these adjuncts are not required as first-line treatment. Deep cleaning is the first-line, gold standard for any confirmed or suspected early-stage periodontitis. Most, if not all other offices would've scheduled SRP immediately based on her charts/x-rays. When I confronted them with this fact, Juliet said we were "not a good fit moving forward." and that I was "telling them how to do their jobs," even though I was simply citing standard treatment guidelines that they are not following. I have requested my records and will be going to a non‑shady family practice. I recommend everyone seek a second opinion before agreeing to elective adjunct procedures that this office frames as clinically necessary. Also be aware that many of their Google/Yelp reviews appear to come from profiles with low numbers of reviews, so I recommend taking them with caution.
