I started coming to OC Dental in 2023. It was close to home, had good reviews and had no issues with the staff. Back in 2025, I came back to this practice for the last time. I actually was called by them to schedule my cleaning, and have since moved to a new practice, but that call basically reminded me to warn others about this practice. After going to OC Dental 3x a year per their recommendation, it slowly went from a place that seemed to offer great care and patient experience, to the complete opposite. My last major visit, which I believe was in December of 2025, I was told that I had a lot of issues with my teeth that NEEDED to be corrected. A couple of onlays/inlays, a crown, some irrigation, and they showed me the problem areas. I was confused at this point. How is it that I went from previous visits not having any major flags, to being where I suddenly needed all these procedures done quoted to about $9K before insurance, then $6.2k after? I was taken aback and asked if all of it was completely necessary, they then brought Dr. Sabo back in, and she discussed and looked over everything and said that I need to do the procedures and pretty much tried pressuring me and fear mongering me into paying for the procedures. I finally decided to at least do the major procedure, we discussed payment options and I essentially paid about $2500 out of pocket for the single procedure alone. After this visit, I felt lied to, so I have since then switched providors to another dentist farther from home but had glowing reviews. I went to them recently and had x-rays and cleanings done, and then came the question, I asked if there was any issues with my teeth that would require inlay/onlays in the sections they stated had issues. They said no, my teeth looked great and there was nothing that needed to be addressed at that moment. This dentist even has me coming 2x a year instead of 3x a year because of how my visit went in that moment. At OC dental they took care of me and fixed my teeth. I needed root canals, an implant and other major work. All were done. I also brought my husband and my son in. My son is now in braces. Out of all the dental places I have been, this is absolutely the worst because I literally tried to cancel service with them but they wouldn't let me. Dr Pooneh Sabo came off as arrogant pressuring me to join and get your teeth removed. When they were doing teeth cleaning, their Dental hygienist couldn't stop talking and kept rambling about how your teeth could affect your health long term. The process for dental check ins is 6 months, but for theirs it is 3-4 months. If you have an appointment down the line with them, I urge you to cancel. The doctors I had came off as unprofessional and rude, so I recommend finding another Dentist. I wish I can cancel but I can't now smh. read more

I wrote a review on this dental center prior and was unhappy about the results of my implants, as of a year ago the owner has refused to insert one of the post of the 4 implants that was put in my uppers to keep the upper teeth in place, I paid them over $20k originally and had two different doctors work on my implants. The original doctor was great, the second female dentist removed the one post due to an infection that caused the one implant to be taken out there was a lot of wait time to have it replaced due to healing and the doctors schedule. When I finally met with the owner she informed me that in order to fix the problem I would need to pay another $18k for permanent implants and was very rude saying that it was a risk doing the snap on/out implants in the first place which originally she recommended. So now I am stuck with a snap on upper denture that doesn't snap as implants should and I have to use dental glue to keep them in place. So if you are thinking of getting implants at this dental office be very very careful with the choices you make and the language of the contract. read more

My wife recently visited OC Dental Center for a routine cleaning and checkup, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. She was seen by Dr. Pooneh Sabo, who claimed my wife had severe plaque buildup, eight cavities, and needed an immediate deep cleaning costing over $200 -- plus a wisdom tooth extraction right away. They used scare tactics to pressure her into agreeing to the procedures immediately. When my wife wanted to call me first to discuss it, Dr. Sabo responded rudely, saying, "You don't have $200 for your cleaning?" -- which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. When I called the office afterward, the front desk staff was rude, and they continued to pressure my wife to stay and proceed with the treatments. On top of that, they tried to charge $30 for a copy of her X-rays, even though those X-rays had already been paid for by our insurance -- something I've never encountered at any other dental office. We went to another dentist in Tustin for a second opinion, where they did a complimentary X-ray and confirmed that my wife had no cavities -- just needed a regular cleaning and some minor filling repairs. There was no emergency and no reason for the alarm or expensive procedures recommended by Dr. Sabo. It's clear to us that this was a money grab, not genuine patient care. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment at this office. read more
