My case took much longer than I expected and became increasingly frustrating. I initially spoke with Deborah R. only once. After that, Rebekka T. began communicating with me and repeatedly requested additional paperwork and information. I called the office and spoke with Maria V., who was very kind and helpful. I explained that I thought I was working directly with Deborah, and Maria told me that was no longer the case. Unfortunately, when I later tried to contact Maria again, I was told that she no longer worked there. Throughout my case, I was repeatedly asked for more and more paperwork and information, resulting in additional billable time. I found myself spending a significant amount of time going back and forth providing personal information and answering questions that I felt had already been addressed. Ultimately, I incurred a large legal bill, which I paid, but I felt that I had very little to show for the amount of time and money spent. Then I began receiving communication from Andrea L., who said she was assisting Rebekka. She called me and asked many of the same questions I had already answered for Deborah and Rebekka. This was particularly difficult because, at the time, I was dealing with serious health issues and undergoing chemotherapy. I was exhausted and not feeling well, and repeatedly having to revisit sensitive personal information was extremely stressful. I also received a bill listing Andrea L. as a senior attorney and charging me for one hour. I had documented the telephone conversation, and my records showed that the call lasted approximately 22 minutes. I became concerned when I noticed that the phone number associated with Andrea had a Georgia area code. I researched her credentials because I wanted to understand why I was being charged a senior attorney rate. At the time, I was unable to find a California license for her and found information indicating that she was an attorney based in Georgia. I questioned Rebekka about why I was being charged a senior attorney fee for this time and asked for clarification. She offered to discount the bill, which she did. I also copied Deborah R. on my email because she was the attorney I originally believed I was working with. Rebekka responded that I was her client and did not need to discuss the matter with anyone else. I found that response concerning, particularly given my questions about who was handling my case and how I was being billed. Eventually, I decided I needed to find another attorney. Finding a real estate attorney who was willing and able to take on my complicated case was not easy. Fortunately, I found a different real estate attorney who was compassionate, responsive, and communicated directly with me. He immediately reviewed my situation and explained that we could resolve the matter without going to court and unnecessarily increasing attorney fees. The difference in my experience was remarkable. He was determined, honest, considerate, and gave me peace of mind knowing that my case was being handled properly. He ultimately helped bring the matter to a successful conclusion. I am sharing my experience not to discourage anyone from making their own decision, but to encourage people to ask questions before hiring an attorney: Who will actually be handling your case? Who will be communicating with you? What billing rates will apply? And who exactly is being billed for the work? When you are already dealing with a difficult legal situation and especially when you are dealing with serious personal circumstances. You need an attorney who communicates clearly, treats you with compassion, and gives you confidence that your case is being handled carefully. Based on my experience, I would not hire this firm again.

They charged me $5,110 in escrow fees, which is nearly $1,700 more than the industry standard based on my home's sale price. The fee breakdown included junk charges like a "messenger fee" (no messenger used), "audit fee," "1099 fee" (no 1099 applies to my transaction), and an outrageous $250 notary fee plus a $100 travel fee, despite the property and their office being in the same county--and no offer made for me to sign in person. I wasn't allowed to keep copies of the documents I signed. My real estate agents were never given the escrow estimate or fee sheet to review, which seems intentional to avoid scrutiny. Only by taking a photo of the fee breakdown myself were my agents able to get involved--and when they questioned the charges, Golden Coast offered me only a $300 "credit." The buyer's side received a larger refund after objecting, which speaks volumes. This company operates with zero transparency, charges well above market, and refuses to justify its fees. Their practices feel deliberately deceptive and predatory--especially when buyers and sellers are under pressure during escrow. Avoid this company. Work with an escrow firm that is upfront, fair, and professional. I've reported this to the California Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

I've repeatedly asked to be removed from their scam list - called, emailed, everything. I got one guy on the phone who was apparently in his car, told me "throw it away and 'f off'" (whole words uttered). I get their scam card with a picture of one house sent to a different one. The one time I got through to Matt Mutton (the scammer owner) was through his linkedin (he will not respond to his email) and I kept bothering him until he responded, he claimed he removed me from his list but did not. This has been going on for years. This latest time I emailed them, got blocked right away. So instead of taking 20 seconds to remove my info, they blocked my email. They'd rather continue to waste paper and postage harassing me than take the time to remove my info. How's that for ethical, folks? Don't take it from me; read about Matt Mutton - you can find stuff on line about him - let's just say this is not a good person in any way. Read about CEO Mike Osborne. Also lots of pretty awful stuff about these scammers on line. Check out their BBB profile if you really want to see how immoral these people are. It's super simple, folks - if they can't take twenty seconds to remove someone from their scam list - why in the world would you trust them with the most important thing in your life - your house? Do you think these are honorable people? Ethical? Not in this or any other dimension. They are absolute scammers who ignore the "do not mail" list and harass people. They will cuss at you on the phone rather than simple remove your info. They will hang up on you. They will not respond to your emails at all. Read about them online. Look at their BBB profile. Tells you everything. There are honest people in the real estate business looking to buy your home - or work with you. These are absolutely not them. Don't take it from me, read all the other bad reviews of these scammers. Read other reviews how proud these people are to scam people and harass people. It's a badge of honor for them to do this. They are the worst of the worst. Again, thank God for yelp where honest people can point out the scammers like these people - avoid these people like the plague.

I called and spoke with a person who IDed himself as Rick Alvarado. I told him I didn't appreciate a likeness of my home on this correspondence. He justified the card by saying it got me to call him, which was its purpose. Additionally, Rick Alvarado claimed he receives hundreds of calls just like mine, but every so often they do receive a solicitation. Rick Alvarado claimed this justifies their boorish behavior. This postcard is highly unprofessional. Any company which uses this sort of tactic is definitely not worthy of my business and I would question how they conduct their business. I would never employ them to sell or list my home!
