I took a 1 hour video lesson with Frank. He gave great feedback on my swing and didn't try to…read morebreak me down entirely to start from scratch. He said the swing overall looked good and corrected just a few things. He went over everything he recommended, took before and after video, and showed me where I needed corrections in the before video, and where I made the corrections in the after video. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to go to the range after the lesson. However, I played for the first time since the lesson yesterday, and I saw a huge difference in my game. I'm not a great golfer, but I had several pars and took about 6 strokes off of my normal score. I still have a long way to go but I would tell you that Frank is a great teacher and can help. If I can find time to play more golf, I will definitely come back to him for lessons.

When I first moved to Florida 5 years ago I started to take golf lessons and over the course of 2…read moreyears, used two different instructors. While I played in my 20s while visiting my parents, I never before had official lessons, and it's fair to say that I was still a 'newbie' to the sport. After roughly 20 lessons across the two instructors, endless hours on the golf range and a par 3 course (thanks to some very patient individuals who were willing to put up with my play 1 - 2x/week), I never got better. My ball striking was inconsistent (as in, I couldn't connect all the time) and while my love for the game never waned, I did become increasingly frustrated. Elbow surgery forced me to take some time off and I decided that I needed to basically re-start from scratch. After researching golf instructors in South Florida, I came across Jess. I read the reviews, watched his videos and made the conscious decision to NOT swing a club until I had my first lesson with Jess. Well, that first lesson was today and I was absolutely floored. While other instructors focused on my grip and just watched me hack away hour after hour, Jess gave me actual tools that I can use to better my game. We worked on 3 specific drills that I can now focus on. Basic drills, but this was the first time I actually understood what was inhibiting me from having a consistent ability to connect with the ball. Somehow, these fundamentals were never discussed with me prior, even though I was taking lessons from PGA certified instructors. I do believe everyone learns differently. For me, having a knowledge in the fundamentals (e.g., weight on front leg, shoulder down, wrists straight) for the first time leaves me with the feeling that I can do this. Thanks, Jess! I walked in looking to purchase THREE new callaway quantum clubs, expecting the total to be over $1000. The first older gentleman I asked was standing by the simulators. "Hello, do you have the new quantum's to try". He responded with, no, we won't have them for 3 weeks. I then asked, "well how about the new mizuno?". Again he responded no, another 3 weeks. So then I walk over to the racks, I find the exact two clubs I'm looking to try available. I bring them over, and say: "it looks like you have the clubs, can I try them?" I am then scolded, told those are new clubs, don't touch them, put them back. I say well yes obviously, and returned the club. Finally, after 20 minutes, I was then able to try the new quantum driver. I hit it for 5 mins, then was ready to try the mizuno. The guy who helped us was busy with another group. So I waited. When he returned I asked to try the mizuno. TO MY SURPRISE: he then tells me, you have to leave the booth. I asked Why sir? Do you think i am not able to buy the clubs? He responded with, we have another customer waiting, and you've been here 10 minutes. I just said ok, and left. Not worth my stress. Talk about losing an easy sale though. Horrible taste in my mouth after this. Shocking really.

They immediately moved us over to another bay and gave extended us 20 minutes for the inconvenience. We didn't order food, but we did order cocktails. They were just okay. I highly recommend making a reservation coming during the day versus night because the price point is drastically different by day and time. We came on a Saturday from 12-2 and paid $40 for up to six people. The check in experience is phenomenal through their app. If you're looking to try something new on the weekend, check them out!

Anyway, we had a great time aside from him being frustrated with hitting the ball. Welcome to golf, son!! lmao We ordered the fiesta nachos which was very good and the cheese fries which were okay. Our server, Gabby, was good and checked up on us often to see if we needed anything at all. Besides having limited clubs to hit with, Top Golf is a fun place to unwind and practice my golf swing whether I go by myself, with friends or with my family!
