I had a very difficult time finding someone I could trust with my hair...both to do a good job and also make me look fabulous. I hit the jackpot when I found Samanta. On my first visit, she took the time to help me understand what it was I wanted. I wanted a look that was good for me...not just based on a picture in a magazine. I left after my haircut feeling like a new woman. She showed me how to achieve the look...and helped me feel confident that I could do it at home. My second visit was color, highlight and cut...and WOW...just WOW! The color is EXACTLY what I had been hoping for for a very long time...and no one could achieve it. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted...and basically read my mind! The cut, color, highlight is perfect for me...and easy for me to style at home. What an amazing experience from start to finish!! I am just in town for a few days and desperately needed a haircut. I've wanted bangs for a while, but was hesitant to do so with a salon I had never been to before. That being said, I wanted to walk in and feel it out. From the get-go, everyone was beyond friendly and welcoming. I was introduced to my stylist Jo. He was incredibly experienced (Had even owned several salons on his own), and completely understood the look I was going for after our brief consultation. Not even 10 minutes later, it felt like we were old friends. I LOVE my new cut and even had my mom come in to check out the salon. I have been going to Samatha, the owner of Urban Hair, for several years since moving to Florida. She has helped me through several changes in my hair style including relaxing my curly frizzy hair and, most recently, encouraging me to try wearing my hair curly for the first time in my life (which I love). She is quite simply the best stylist I have ever worked with. She attends classes regularly in places like New York and California to keep up-to-date on all the newest trends. She is a perfectionist about her work and the results are obvious. I should add that the other stylists and staff are professional and do very good work. Since moving to central Florida it has been quite the challenge to find the right hairdresser and salon. Having curly hair needs a stylist that is talented and knows how to manage all types of hair. Urban Hair Studio is that place. Several staff very knowledgeable and certified in different methods for cutting hair. Us curly girls know the struggle of a bad cut. I was in desperate need of a cut while visiting the Villages. I noticed this salon, checked the reviews and did it. They are accurate. It is a great place. Josie gave me such a great cut. Even though I was the last appointment of the day she took extra time to fix the damage of my last hair dresser and taught me what I needed to do to make my hair great. They do a wonderful job with your hair and with your nails I have very difficult hair to work with It is heavy and thick but it's very very fine and Sam cuts it just perfectly.
