So to be honest I hate art studios. and so if I'd been here for anything other than a wedding reception I'd probably give it one star. But this place was great. I loved the different rooms and they really hosted the event well. If you're looking for a place for a party or something I totally recommend this place. The staff there was nice and I didn't hate all the art I saw... And that's saying something. read more

This place is great! We attend as many Art Walk nights as we can, not only for the art, but because we love the space. The staff is friendly and remembers us every time we walk through the door. We have attended many a swarays there, friends weddings, birthday parties and we even held a corporate meeting there. Everytime we leave, we want to return the next night to see what event is going on and if we can just be in the building. I booked an event for my wife with ULS and it went very smooth. Response back was quick and they handled everything in a professional manner. I highly recommend checking them out for your next event space. read more

My wife and I were married at Urban Light Studios on November 16th. We had a PHENOMENAL experience with them. Vedada and Autumn did all of our photos, from the engagement to day of, and they turned out better than I could have expected. They truly captured the love that my wife and I have for each other, and the support and happiness our friends brought to the occasion. Not only were the pictures and the venue space amazing, but they were so easy and fun to work with. We truly enjoyed all of the time we got to spend with them. They worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted, and the most memorable day of our lives. From the photo booth, to the uniquely decorated upstairs rooms, everything was perfect. I was impressed that Vedada managed to capture excellent photos of our wriggly ferret ring-bearer and the night time photos in front of the phoenix mural across the street at Naked City that Autumn got are breath taking. I continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a venue, or even just some professional photography. Thank you SO much. You helped make our wedding the best day of our lives. read more

I booked an appointment to check out the space for my wedding. Well I was initially like where is this place? I've lived in the neighborhood for the past year... couldn't imagine a place where the space is, I went online and was like what building is this? So my Love and I went for our appointment, and the door entrance is pushed back a bit so it is a bit hidden, but the hallway was amazing old brick and than past about 10 feet bang, pow there is this amazing space! It's like a magic trick... tada! Had a little kitchen up front, side patio off to the left, this amazing collage mural of lemme see last supper and other christian/catholic themed pictures. So there was a variety of amazing rooms and deco, really enjoyed it. They don't alway answer the phone but leave a message, because they get back to you ASAP, even via e-mail! I can't wait to get a 2nd Friday off to do the art walk and stop in, because they do it big I hear! read more

If you need a place to have a party this is it! I just had my 50th birthday at Urban Lights! We had 110 people and it was perfect! My guests were raving about the space! It's a large space with a variety of funky rooms! My personal favorite was the Tiki room of course this is also where the bar is! It just opened in January so it's new, funky and fun! read more

We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding. The space has an unique character that all the guests loved. The ambience allowed guests to relax, have fun and enjoy the celebration. Highly recommend taking advantage of the "Photobooth" option. It was a big hit, and we enjoyed reviewing the pictures afterward. Autumn was fabulous!! The patio area was the perfect sitting to chat with friends and family. Of the caterer selection offered, we chose Shooby-Doo and had no regrets. read more

Autumn and Anthony were our Urban Light wedding photographers two weekends ago. They were part of a package deal through our venue Axis in Pioneer Square--and I was really pleased with 1) the actual humans behind the lens and, 2) the photos they have sent along very soon after. We don't have them all yet, but the experience with Autumn was fun, easy, and low pressure. We had a great day and they never felt like an unwanted presence or too pushy (but still the right amount of pushy for wangling our many family members and wedding party players into group shots). I look forward to the finished products, but I can already say pretty certainly how happy we were with the two folks we knew least, but who were involved in the most intimate moments of our day. read more

The staff is not only professional and accommodating, but also friendly and personable. They have everything you need: rentals, music equipment, and a 7ft lion - who could ask for more? We initially booked our wedding date for September, but after finding out that we are expecting our first child, we had to move the wedding up to June. The ULS staff were amazing and so accomodating! If I had any questions Elise always got right back to me. She provided so many resources to help us in the planning process. And the night of the wedding Autumn (our on sight staff contact) was so helpful. The space is absolutely amazing, any additional decorations you bring in will just enhance an already fantastic location. Seriously, you won't find a better spot that has the best staff in the world. Vedada and Autumn shot our wedding at St. Joseph's Church and Volunteer Park. Our picture are gorgeous! We wanted that bright, punchy look that Urban Light specializes in. They made me look beautiful and they really had an eye for capturing amazing little moments. They were so discrete we didn't even know they were there! They had great ideas but were also listened to us completely. They are artists but they also know that the pictures are going to be sitting on our shelf in the years to come. The staff at ULS is amazing especially Autumn and Kim. They were so nice and I had such a nice wedding. What a great venue with such an artistic fun and eclectic style. My husband Steve and I were married May 20, 2012. From the very first inquiry email to the very last photograph, we had an excellent Urban Light Studios experience. Everything felt easy, organized, and we truly felt like we were treated not just like one of many, but as individuals with a special and unique day to celebrate. Autumn and Jann (photographers) were exceptional at the wedding! Never have we experienced photographers who actually felt like wedding guests, in a way, as they were so a part of things, and such happy, positive presences. And, when we had a last-minute missing decor glitch and were running a bit behind, Autumn and her crew volunteered to string up our lanterns, which was amazing and such a huge help. Goes without saying that the photos Autumn & Jann took will be terrific; we know they will, simply due to their creativity and professionalism. And Elise, venue coordinator, was great. Even with an impending trip looming during our planning, she went the extra mile to make sure we felt taken care of, and no loose strings were left hanging in the breeze. Last: Urban is simply just so very cool. The former home of two eclectic interior designers, every room is different and in the best possible way. The circular floor plan of the space worked beautifully for flow and mingling, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed having something beautiful, surprising and/or unique around every corner. Just a space made for good times! So, our collective hats are off to everyone at Urban Light Studios: a great team, an exceptional space, and the kind of venue you want if you'd like your experience to be positive and your wedding to be memorable and exactly as you hope it to be. read more

ULS is an awesome venue for any special event. You can figure that out for yourself by stopping by for a tour, showing up for artwalk, or looking at their website. I don't need to write about how wonderful a space this is. I have catered at amazing and unique venues but not always had the opportunity from beginning to end to collaborate and work with such an experienced and understanding group of individuals. They really do put their clients first and will go above and beyond to ensure each event is organized and flawless. Kevin, Elise and Autumn make it their personal goal to make your special event everlasting and amazing for you and your guests.
