I am a very awkward person, and I do not like getting my picture taken. I was nervous to have a stranger documenting my elopement, and ultimately any distractions from being myself on arguably one of the most important days if my life. We had an intimate elopement- Amanda acted as one of our official witnesses! Since I had never been married before, and there was nobody else there, she walked us through it and met up with my new husband and set up our "first look". She went above and beyond, and basically acted as our wedding planner- she even scoped out the place beforehand to check for cool spots! IT WENT SO SMOOTHLY AND STRESS FREE AND I OWE THAT ALL TO HER! When the photos were being taken, Amanda was quick to fix the train on my dress or have me adjust my hair as needed (this was my request for her to tell me), and so thankful for the way little tweaks turned out in pics. She also kept the energy going making silly comments to make us more comfortable, and was so adventurous. Oh! She also ended our session with a tiny printer of pictures we could take home with us that day! And, while her turnaround for the edits was lightning speed, they were also very well done. I could not have had a better experience if I tried. I am absolutely in love with my pictures, and the memories, and I will cherish them forever. Stephanie and her husband Ryan, of Ahava Studios, were the absolute first vendors I picked. I shopped around and looked at the work of other photographers, but to me their work is - and was, for our event - just perfect. Stephanie is super easy to work with, really communicative and understanding, and just an all-around sweet gal who might make you want to hound her into being friends with you when everything is said and done... or was that just me? I met her husband and associate shooter, Ryan, for the first time at the actual event and I cannot say enough good things about him either. If you want truly incredible wedding photographs that are not just timeless but artistic, you won't hire anyone but Stephanie at Ahava Studios! I hired Stephanie to shoot our wedding, as well as to do a boudoir shoot a few months before the wedding. I was nervous about doing the shoot in the days leading up to it, after expressing my feelings to Stephanie she seemed to know just what to say to calm me down and reassure me, of I guess myself and how I am documenting one of the most exciting times in my life. I was doing the shoot to have Stephanie create a beautiful photo book of pictures as a gift for my husband on our wedding day. She arrived to the shoot with a bottle with champagne in hand, which not only helped to relax my nerves, but it made the experience feel fancy! What girl doesn't love someone bringing her champagne!? Stephanie made me feel so comfortable during the shoot, and even sent me a couple sneak peaks of pictures that night! The photo book turned out better than I could have imagined, and my husband absolutely loves it. Then for the big day! I think that every bride in the back of their mind is somewhat worried about particular photo ops being missed. I mean there is so much going on at a wedding how can one person be in so many places at once? Stephanie somehow managed to do it, and do it beautifully. There were moments throughout the event (such as right after the ceremony) that I literately thought to myself, I didn't even see our photographer anywhere around, I really really hope that she got shots of this, or that. I honestly don't remember hardly seeing her at all throughout the day. But when we got our pictures, you would have thought she'd been my personal shadow for hours. She captured everything, plus more than we could have hoped for. From everyone getting ready, to guest arriving, the entire ceremony, the reception, us leaving the venue, plus all the family & wedding party pictures. She was like a one woman photography wonder, I really don't know how she did it all. Something that I really want to emphasis, what an artistic eye Stephanie has. She has an eye for the best angles, back drops, props to use. She took the most incredible pictures of all the details, such as our wedding rings, my wedding shoes, our toasting glasses, the cake....so unique. Something that I think turns a lot of people off to a photographer, is the price. You see this number that seems so outrageous to you for pictures, that you just go onto looking for the next photographer who's price seems more, "reasonable". My husband was one of those people. Totally turned off by the price. That is until we got our pictures. Not only were the services provided to us worth every penny that we paid, but after seeing how great everything turned out & how happy we were, we would have paid even more. She gave me, the stressed-out bride who was stuck in the bridal suite, the much-needed assurance; Jill should also be titled "wedding day therapist." :D Quality: We were provided so many quality pictures. We loved so many of them that a 100-page album couldn't fit all our favorites. We had to pick and choose which pic go into the album and that was the hardest part of our photography experience with Jill. LOL! My absolute favorite part is the pictures Jill took completely captured our special day, it's like we are re-living our wedding day every time when we look through our wedding album. You know that smile that comes from your heart? Yea that's how I feel every time when I look through the pictures. After-Production Support: Jill's responsiveness doesn't just stop after she handed over the pictures. She is truly there every. step. of. the. way. She wants you, the bride and groom, to be happy with the pictures and would do what is needed to make sure that is the case.
