What happened to you? You used to be the coolest store to shop at, the best fashionable clothing was sold here....back in college this was the "it" store. I'd beeline here to get dresses, cardigans, unique tops and shirts. I feel like lately the fashion has become boring here, it's not as cool as it used to be. Also the prices are eyewatering. A flimsy top was $60. This frilly bra thing was $50. I feel like Shien is giving this store a run for it's money, Because as I was shopping here I was thinking, " I can find this on Shien for less than half the price." This Urban Outfitters had a pretty good selection. I was in need of new lip gloss and their cosmetics section is amazing! Lots of fun and high quality makeup to try. This location seemed pretty clean compared to others I've been to. I am very happy with the prices too. The lip gloss I purchased here costed a few dollars less than the original price-which was amazing. When I was paying the cashier was friendly and helpful. read more

This store is great because of the variety of items you can buy here: Mens and women's clothing, personal accessories, vinyl records and record players, gag items, books and more. The clothing sold here is considered trendy and the prices certainly reflect that. As a matter of fact, just about every item in the store is simply over priced. I can't blame them though. Have a storefront in a mall such as Westfield in Woodland Hills carries a hefty rent fee with it. They sell some funny books that can be used as a unique gift idea for someone that likes out of the box type of stuff. If you have the cash to spend, say $40 on a shirt, $15 on a wall USB charger adapter, or $80 for pants then you'll love this store. Service is great. Im not sure who the manager(s) are but as of every visit in the past 2 months every encounter with the manager on duty has been nothing but attitude, no sense of just respect or any type of "customer service ". You already know what's going on if you've been to any urban outfitters. The service is mediocre, but that's not a bad thing sometimes you feel stalked in other stores and sometimes you feel like no one cares that you exist which in this location it's a mixture of both the staff will help you if you ask for it or look like you need it, but there's always someone that will greet you. The selection of apparel on hand is good however I'll admit that the 'mens' selection is rather lacking in comparison to the 'woman's', but honestly I don't really care what section I buy from I like what interests me. Price is one factor I can see people not a fan of, the prices are moderately set, by that meaning you're kind of paying for the brand here which isn't a bad thing, but if you're coming with your kids make sure you set a budget. Urban outfitters is more of a place where you have teens and young adults that already know themselves and already have the finances to make purchases buy themselves things which is why it feels so urban...I couldn't resist. read more

I have been shopping at Urban for 20 years and have always liked it. But today I went in apparently 10 minutes before closing. I hadn't realized they were closing. A man who worked there waa walking around the store telling everyone very rudely that they needed to hurry up and pay or leave. This is another branch of the Urban Outfitters Chain - a fairly large store, with the women's sale behind the men's sale near the back right corner (if you're looking for sale). In general, clothes are hipster/chic, so it's defintely geared towards a certain fashion sense. They also carry items from home goods (plates, frames, bedding) to music gear (headphones, record players) to chotchkies (key caps, funny post-its, odd items). The *stuff* they have is fun to browse, slightly overpriced from what you could get on amazon, and make good gifts from time to time. I snagged a dress today for $10 (usually, you're looking at a mid-priced store with items under $100 but over $30), and a present for a friend from the *stuff* sections. Dressing room was clean, staff was quick, and I was out of there in a flash. BONUS: They give reusable bags as your purchase bag. read more

The staff is always very friendly and willing to help. I don't shop here too often but when I do I find the best items. Except for the occasional messiness in the clearance section the store is pretty tidy. I would definitely recommend shopping here. Walk in to look for an adidas red jacket I didn't see it so I decided to walk out, I was 4 stores down when I heard two girls screaming "excuse me excuse me you need to come back" I turned around and were two employees asking me to go back to the store because the alarm went off when I walk out, I told them I was only at the store for 2 minutes then one of them told me they didn't see me walk in , and that's when I was done playing nice, 1- customers are not responsible to announce themselves when they walk in to a store 2- you don't accuse people without proves 3- after someone is out of the store you don't go after them They never apologize, I asked for district manager number I email her but never got an answer back. I was a bad experience, I do believe the company needs to train their employees better . read more

Our trip ended with, Hunter, raising her voice and telling my family "you are no longer welcomed at this store." It was not a good day. After a long day of shopping to get ready for college, my wife and 2 daughters were shopping. Our youngest daughter, 18, was the last to shop and took a long time. My wife went outside and waited for my daughter. During the trip, my daughter removed her coat, placed her jacket in a F21 bag and shopped, placing some items on top of the bag as she shopped. Fast forward, she paid for her items, roughly $30, and walked out of the store. Upon walking out the store alarm went off and she walked back to the register, my wife walked back into the store. My daughter/wife began to remove items (the large jacket) and Hunter, reached into the bag and said "here it is, coincidence that it's at the bottom of the bag." Her immediate response was to accuse my daughter of shoplifting. My wife working in retail, expressed to her that it was at the bottom because the jacket had just been pulled out and it fell, per gravity, to the bottom of the bag + don't go reaching into the bag, we'll remove the items. Her protocol should not be to accuse us of shoplifting and it made no sense to steal a $6-$10 bottle of fragrance when she paid for her other items. There was never an attempt for my daughter to explain herself or purchase the item, the immediate accusation was that we were shoplifting. Now I'll give the benefit of the doubt that Hunter just doesn't have the experience and that she is a fair and nice person, but Urban Outfitters needs to better train an employee on how to handle this better. I share this because we were not given an outlet or opportunity to express our experience and disappointment and felt offended at the accusation that we were shoplifting. We shop at this mall and store often and this really was a mistake. My daughter has a condition which requires her to wear a beanie, and she gets hot, so when she removed the jacket and put it in the bag, she forgot she put the products on top while she shopped. She was distracted and rushing. My daughter was wrong for not realizing the product was in the bag, but the alarms are there to prevent things from being stolen as well as preventing someone from walking out of the store without paying for it (these things do happen). We are left embarrassed and disappointed at the reality that this employee is not properly trained to handle these scenarios and this type of customer service will probably happen to someone else. read more

Gotta love paying for a look that says "I do not care but I paid more than $80.00 for this shirt" I love Urban Outfitters because they have really cute clothing that is made well and for a reasonable price. This store is great because it's huge and the people that work there are friendly. They always seem to be having a sale whenever I go and it's always packed. If you had the money to spend, come here instead of going to Forever 21 and paying 21.98 for a cheaply made top when you can get the same design here for maybe 3 times the cost but it will last you more than a few washings. They always have the cutest jewelry and most outrageous shoes. read more

This is one of my go to shops. Whether Urban is advertised or not, it is a definitely a must go place for those who are hungry for trendy fashions. They change their wardrobe to match the season. My favorite is spring and summer since I enjoy shopping for their ultra comfy shirts that comes in 10 or so colors. Some, I'm not sure if all, Urban has a bargain area for those who are looking to take advantage of the sales section of the store. I like how the interior of Urban Outfitters always matches the trend they represent. And don't forget the retro section for those who wants a polaroid camera or a record player. Located on the first floor of the Topanga Mall across from Macy's. The store is big and clean, probably because it just recently opened. I've always liked their clothes but thought they were way overpriced, so I always ended up avoiding this store anywhere I went until my boyfriend convinced me otherwise. We actually ended up finding some pretty stellar deals. Their sale options for women were pretty hefty. The guys side had a sale section as well, but a bit on the smaller side. I've been having some issues with a shirt I bought from there. I'm thinking it might just be the material of the shirt that is very easily ripped or their quality just isn't the greatest. All my boyfriends shirts are just fine, so I'm thinking its just the material. I think it is worth taking a look around this store because you can definitely find some good deals on cute things. 80% of their stuff, however, IS overpriced. Staff: I think 3 different associates asked me if I needed help with anything and were super friendly so I really appreciated that. Checkout was quick and easy as well. This is probably the smallest Urban Outfitters I've been into which means the inventory is lacking compared to others. Same with variety. I tend to go to Urbans for their little knick nacks as they make great additions to gifts for friends, but I found this location didn't really have much to offer. I don't shop here all that often, but at least the employees here try to be attentive regardless of how busy it is and how little staff they have. I did witness a manager stop some shoplifters leaving the store. It's shocking to see people not care about the livelihood of others. I purchased a polaroid camera for my girlfriend for Christmas it stop working about 5months in, at first I couldn't find the receipt for awhile, when I contacted the studio city department where I first purchased it, they were really helpful and supported me and told me I can come in and exchange it even though at that time I couldn't find the receipt. I was told to just bring the camera and my Id and they'll exchange it. Because I moved to Valencia I ask if there were any closer locations and I was told about the location in the Topanga mall (this is 7pm a day before my girlfriends birthday) once I arrived I spoke to a young lady at the front desk who then got the manger by the name Izzy (very rude) i mean this lady had no compassion in her soul, I just drove 40mins to exchange a defected item that I purchased from there branch. She told me there store has a different policy then the others, I told her the situation while with my daughter that we just drove far and would have to drive an extra 35 mins to go to the original location. I called the other store to let her know I didn't just make all this up. She said that it's each manger discretion which mean she could of totally honored it. I did have the receipt back home because I eventually found it but left it at the house because I was told over the phone I didn't need it. She said I could get the receipt texted over to me, but that wouldn't work because I was surprising my girlfriend, And she would have been the one to send it. She then said if I received the receipt she would "TRY"and see if she can exchange it. WOW! I just called the other store manger who confirmed everything I had the defected item in great shape and I had my daughter with me, what more do you want? To make it even worst she said if I can remember the exact date, time, and register of when I purchased it she can do it. Lol I don't remember what I did yesterday at 6:00. Without attitude I told her ok, I guess I have to drive to the other location and her response was yep. Very distasteful attitude and I feel like I was discriminated against based off my race and all this happened in front of my daughter. I proceeded to go to the studio city location I was in&out with a new and improve Cramera within 7mins. The people there were awesome. They said she could of totally honor the new camera they all have the same policy I willing be taking future action about this incident. Stay away from Izzy very rude and nasty person. read more

I normally don't write negative reviews for clothing stores, but I had such an awful experience with one of the male workers on Sunday evening. After picking two dresses, I went to the fitting room to try them on. There was a male worker stationed at the fitting room. I showed the two items I wanted to try on, but he wanted to hold them. He literally tried to pull them out of my hands and I told him to stop. He then snatched the dresses out of my hands and said "this isn't how we do things here, we take the clothes" and then he hung them up in my fitting room. I was so upset, he even had the audacity to say, "see isn't that better," even after he forcefully snatched them out of my hands. Definitely felt like he had control issues, I've never felt so disrespected at a clothing store, and so uncomfortable to try on clothes in a fitting room. I wanted to buy the dresses, but I was so upset I just wanted to leave. I'm never coming back to this location again. I hope no one else experiences something like this. read more

If your ever in Westfield Topanga Urban outfitters is a must. I stopped by a busy Sunday afternoon and although the store was busy I was able to shop comfortably (unlike Forever 21 on a Sunday). The staff was there to help whenever I needed it. I was greeted, handed a shopping basket by u assume the manager who was going around greeting all the other customers and checked out by the sweetest cashier. I forgot to write my review about this place. This my first and last visit. I do give them that it's clean and all but their customer service does suck. My sister and I went in with no intentions to buy anything but my sister saw a few cool things that were on clearance which wasn't that bad. When we finally decided to pay the cashier was very dismissive she offered us the rewards program but when she saw what we were getting she just continued the transaction but was very eager to help the guy behind us. She didn't even let me and my sister fully turn around to walk away before she called the guy over. I worked in retail so I know that getting a customer who is even buying something at a small amount providing that customer service and showing that they matter makes the customer come back and shop for more stuff. I wanted to add though I understand not all places care about dress code and it's made for young people I my self am young but how they were dressed I don't believe it's what urban outfitters is trying to promote both cashiers were wearing crop tops that covered nothing. Although I find Urban Outfitters a bit pricey I really like this location the workers are really nice and it is ALWAYS clean which is amazing in a store that size. I do not know this one worker's name but he was one of the nicest people I have ever met when I asked about applying for a job there. His response and friendly attitude made me feel so much more comfortable there than with my current job and I am thinking of applying soon. 100% recommend it. read more
