We came for brunch to the rooftop yesterday Sunday. It was slow but nice view and waiter was pleasant. I ordered the crepe with ricotta filling and blueberries and that was a big mistake. It tasted funny, had a couple of bites and really confirmed this had gone bad. They switched it to waffles but were out of whipped cream- That was good. We were not comped on it. Dissappointing experience for our group - mostly due to poor customer service/management. We had reserved a table for outside for 10 and when I arrived nothing had been prepared. There was almost no one there so it was no big deal, but they tried to sit us at a table for 4.... Not a great start. I asked about multiple tables, because there was no one there, and everything was "reserved." Finally, it comes out that the tables were reserved for 8 pm and after (it's 5:30pm when I get there and when our reservation is - the reservation they were not prepared for)... So, in my head I'm like - hold up you're saving tables for 3 hours away and didn't even attempt to prepare our table in advance?!? Bad start, right. Anyway, I have to negotiate to even get a six top. Then at 8 they kick us out - saying the party is there... only to have no party show up... ever. We had asked to be reseated outside in the event the/a table opens up - host acknowledges and says they will do that, and yet they sit parties of two at each of the available six tops in the area they just kicked us out of...Bad middle. The host and one of the waitresses were pretty rude about everything - our waitress, Isabella, was kind and as helpful as she could be the whole time. It really seemed to be the young host who made it more difficult than it needed to be (he said his name was Lance, but now on here it looks like Lance is an older appearing person who is actually the Owner/Manager; so I guess this young host might have been lying about that too). It's a bit of a misnomer to call this place an "Urban" Rooftop. It's a rooftop, for sure ... the rooftop of a four-story sleepy suburban office building. The decor is okay but you can tell that it's a quick lipstick-on-a-pig build-out of a commercial office park space. If an eye-level view of I-35, forty-two feet from the ground is your idea of a pleasant view, then perhaps you won't be disappointed. I have no complaints about the quality of the cocktails; they were passable. (I commend the bartender on her/his skills disproportionate to the caliber of this establishment.) Please know that just nineteen miles south, you'll find world-class innovation in a flourishing cocktail scene. I suppose it's a convenient spot to find a perfectly adequate cocktail if you live in Round Rock but I would encourage folks to hire a driver and head downtown if you're looking for an enjoyable evening sharing delicious cocktails because your experience at Urban Rooftop can't possibly compare to what's offered downtown. The bottom line is that the drinks are fine, the service is amateur, and the space is underwhelming. I'd go back again if I were in the area and it was otherwise terribly inconvenient to travel downtown. read more

The cocktails are priced on the higher end but they are soooo good. They have a lot of drinks to choose from and small bites. I had high expectations and hopes. My hubby and I have been looking for a cozy place for drinks and food/snacks. We wanted this to work but it didn't. The service was lackluster. We were the only couple at the six-seat bar without a drink and it took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I had The Cougar. It was beautiful and sounded better than it was. It was a very subtle flavor and from the description I was hoping for a little more punch. I then opted for wine. They have an extremely limited wine menu--only one of each kind. The Sauvignon Blanc was okay. For having just one the menu, I feel like they would pick a better one. But I'm picky about my SBs. Had the Getting Figgy With It flatbread. It was OK. It was super soft as opposed to crispy. Not a ton of flavor. I wouldn't order it again. BTW bread and butter costs $8. Watch out for the kitchen door when you are going in and out of the bathroom. Ugh! I hate writing these kinds of reviews, but I'd be doing us all a disservice if I didn't. I made Mother's Day reservations a week in advance. Our choice was rooftop brunch buffet or restaurant dining. We chose the rooftop being that I've always wanted to go and the availability was much better. We got there at our reserved time and was advised that we were not listed, my worst nightmare! However, the host did seat the 5 of us anyway since it appeared there may have been some no shows. Albeit a bit windy, we loved the space and the views of Round Rock. The grapefruit mimosa was very delightful as well; however, the food was another story. The buffet was mediocre at best. The migas was alright, the cheesy grits, sausage and bacon were my favorites, but those waffles, my God those waffles....they screamed leggo my eggo! I couldn't believe that for $30 per person they even allowed that on the serving table. The pastries; there wasn't a good variety and I'm guessing they came from a grocery store last minute. Speaking of last minute, when we asked for a carafe of mimosa we were told that the bar was not properly prepared and thus no carafes, which led me to feel like this whole thing was just kind of thrown together. For $30 my expectations were quite high. My only thought was that we were paying a premium for the scenery and live music because there's no way that was a $30 buffet. All in all, everyone was very delightful, the live music really added to the atmosphere, and we even managed a free beer and no charge for my 3 year old daughter. Still, I truly wish we would have done the restaurant instead. I'd love to give Urban Rooftop another chance, but they'd either need to severely adjust their pricing (from $30 to $15) or revamp their buffet completely. read more

Urban Rooftop is really a unique bar in the downtown Round Rock area. You won't be able to experience something like this unless you head 20 minutes to Austin. With that being said...avoid the food because it takes forever, enjoy the drinks and the scenery, the firepits when its cold and live music on most nights. Service wasn't necessarily the best but it was still an enjoyable experience. Price for drinks was about average from what you can find in other bars plus you are paying for the scenery. read more

This review is solely based on cocktails and atmosphere since we did not get any food. Let's start with atmosphere- super cute rooftop bar with fun lighting, live music, and fire pits. It was a cooler evening and the fire pits definitely did their job, but also created a glowing ambiance. The tables were socially distanced. Drinks- it was disappointing they were "out" of the first two drinks I tried to order. This had to be due to running out of a specific ingredient, but when these are your specialty cocktails at the top of the menu, wouldn't you order an abundance? The cocktail I ended up with was called the cougar and it actually was quite good. The live music was country and the singer was pretty good as well. Overall, I'd probably go back again to see a sunset from the rooftop with a cocktail in hand. read more

I've been to Urban Rooftop a few times, pre-COVID and now once post. In general, I like the space, enjoy the drinks and adore live music. What I don't like is the extra slow wait for food, but I get it, since the kitchen is down four flights and across the way. The two complaints I have are specific to my post COVID visit. First, the space seems very crowded with people and almost no one in a mask, but at least it's an outdoor space. More concerning was the staff members wearing masks as chin guards instead of over the mouth AND nose. This was noted over the entire three hours we were there, including when taking our order at close proximity and when checking on us. I probably won't return until the virus is under control. Came here Friday for happy hour Around 4:30, tabbed out at 6:07... waiter George was sneaky and didn't enter our drinks in until we tabbed out 5 minutes after happy hour ended... so we did not get happy hour prices despite order drinks at 4:30 and 5:15. When we brought it up he just said he'd get us some shots next time we came in since we were about to drive and didn't want them then.... dishonest but the couple dollars wasn't worth the fuss to us. Overall- decent cocktails. Food is overpriced and cold by the time it arrives from the restaurant across the street. Service is sub par and chairs are uncomfortable... might check it out for live music, nighttime views, and after dinner cocktail... but other than that wouldn't recommend. Will definitely be more cautious about checking my tab if I visit again. read more

Went on 8/3/18 to see our favorite Musician Abraham Weaver. The place is really cool. Nice views from the 4th floor rooftop. The service was great till they got a little busy after 9pm. We ordered chicken tacos and the chips and cheese. Both were great. The drinks were good but not great. After completing my first experience there, I think I can now say I truly think it's a hidden gem in Round Rock for everything it has to offer! This vibey speak-easy bar is hidden away on the 4th story of a building in downtown Round Rock and was exactly what I was looking for in a night out. I had a wonderful, friendly server that was quick to welcome me in and offered many helpful recommendations for drinks and things to eat on the menu! I had bites from a small charcuterie board and a flatbread pizza that were both amazing (pictured below). Sadly I was not able to see the patio due to some rainy weather, but the indoor seating experience was nearly perfect! The only complaint or negative thing that I would mention is the noise level. The indoor area isn't huge, but was suuuuper loud the whole time I was present - even with empty tables around! Otherwise, I loved it here and will definitely be back! read more

Honestly, this has never happened to me in my life. On Valentines Day, I reserved a table for my wife and I to enjoy a lovely sunset dinner. After waiting for 10 minutes for no waiter in sight, one finally approaches us to literally tell us there is "snacks" and no dinner menu available. He sees our 4 year old, we drove 45 minutes from Cedar Park and says there is no kids menu - there is "Cheeseburger." What is disgusting is this was followed by my wife's disappointment and we all went home - this ruined our Valentine's Day and I was disregarded as not doing enough research on the place. The sad thing is / I did do my research - I saw real dinner options like Ribeye, Mahi Mahi and Salmon. A full kids menu with 5/6 options (more than others) with sides of fries, fruits and veggies. When I asked this guy if they had fries for my daughter or other options, he said "no" "we don't even have a kids menu or have anything for kids" I don't know what this waiters logic , if he was new or drunk but whatever it was is, you don't approach people who made a reservation (especially on a holiday) to turn them away before they even get seated. Made me look like a shmuck because I knew the menu better than you but my wife didn't even give this a chance at that point. I got a sour look like where did you bring us to and we just all went home as a result. I wish I got this waiters name, you should let him go because you ruined my family's evening and pushed customers away and I will make sure you guys lose a lot of business over it. Awful read more

Was able to spend time outdoors on a randomly warm Saturday night at the rooftop bar. I had not been since they remodeled and the place looks and feels great. Live music was a bonus and the guy they had was super legit and was worth paying attention to. We tried several drinks on their cocktail menu and my favorite was the Permenant Vacation but I'm biased towards anything with good tequila. Bonus, the manager went out of his way to customize my second round after I asked if they had any spicy drinks. The tuna tartar and charcuterie board were really good as well. Several people around us had the flatbreads so next time I will for sure try one of those out. In general between the views and the feel of the new design this place will for sure be in regular rotation and it's nice that there is an indoor portion for when it gets cold (or starts to rain a bit which happened Saturday as well). read more

We came here to grab a drink before our dinner reservation at Jack Allen. Surprisingly most tables were already occupied at 7pm and we had to put some tables together to accommodate our large group. First the great thing about this place. It is a hidden gem in round rock old town. From the outside it just looks like a business building but once you go up the elevator you enter a beautiful outdoor space with many seating and a small stage for performers. I guess they do have live music every weekend. They also have a big pitcher of cucumber and lemon water if you get thirsty while waiting for your drinks. The prices for the drinks are on the higher end but they are presented pretty beautifully. The service. It totally lacks! Just because of that I would not wanna come back or even recommend to anyone. Unless you are already in the area and would like to grab a drink with your friends. Also our waiter almost double charged some of us as we had individual checks and he made his round and didn't pay attention. He even argued with us and didn't apologize for his mistake. Seriously!!!. If you would had already couple drinks you might have ended up paying more than you would like to, I guess... As I was the designated driver for our party I asked if they could make me anything with no alcohol and they said of course but instead in a nice glass cup I got a cheap plastic cup with just ice in it and it cost 13$. Wow I paid 13$ for juice At least the birthday girls enjoyed themselves and we had a fun time before heading out to our dinner reservation.
