My poor sewing machine had been sleeping all these years after one use but it has definitely been over worked these days, in a good way. So far, I've taken Sewing 101 and within 2 weekends I've learned to make so many items, such as table napkins, tool bag, pillow case, and reversible tote. My favorite has been the tote bag that I've gone fabric frenzy; thank goodness Joann was having a sale. By no means my sewing skills is perfect after one class and I've been best friends with the seam ripper, but it's been non stop fun making these one of a kind items picked and made by me that are actually functional. Not only are the classes fun, you really learn all the facts and know hows that'll go a long way if you really want continue mastering your skills. Signed up for 102 class already and exited to see how these classes can help me in a long way.

They gave me a refund for that session so I felt better. But then she didn't show up at all for the final (of 4) session. And I texted her 30 minutes ahead of the appointment saying "see you in 30 minutes!" I will never again book anything there and I suggest you stay away too.

When I expressed I was having a hard time to the higher ups, they suggested I worked harder. The other students were allowed to bully me incessantly, which was brought to the attention of the staff, they did nothing. There's no help for students with learning differences. While trying to get clarification, I had multiple teachers yell at me and refuse to explain things differently; they felt repeating the same instruction louder was sufficient. This school is hard enough without a brain that sees the world differently. Also, there is no elevator and no accessibility for anyone who is disabled. Those of us who are disabled and have divergent thinking, deserve equal education, too. Especially when it's $5000+ a quarter.

We reserved a space as a courtesy but I appreciate the drop in option. There are no pressure sale tactics to rope you into buying classes or dates with penalties. It promotes the love of art period. Parents can deop their kid off for a class and everyone is happily discovering their artsy self. The offer language classes and piano lessons as well. The theme is giving and avenue to express creativity with no pressures. I was so pleased to learn they have camps for when schools out as well as host parties. Most of the teachers have been there a while with professional experience and a love of art with patience which promotes creativity at reasonable prices. I'm grateful for their flexibility because when the rain caused a delay it was really good of them to offer my daughter a shared private lesson where she was able to connect with another young person who shared her interests in art. That was really amazing to witness two young people on the same artistic wavelength getting lost in their lesson. My daughter plans to return and we recommend this place to anyone who has a child who loves arts.

When my daughter moved to Eastpoint around 2014, the building that houses The ArtsXchange was merely a shuttered old elementary school. About a year later the ArtsXchange opened up and we went to an event for Mothers Day that was a local singer, performing for mothers and daughters in the local community. The first two pictures are from that. At the time my friend, Todd Mack was conducting youth music and composition workshops and camps to bridge communication and philosophical divides between the Faiths: Jewish, Muslim & Christian. It was/is Music In Common. I talked to the managers about his program and they put up the flyers and distributed to the community. My daughter moved. Tyler Perry Studios moved in at Fort McPherson and the neighborhood that once had gunfire at night and drug houses down the street began to transform. I had the opportunity to return to ArtsXchange recently for Music In Common's 20th anniversary celebration. I was delighted to see there were many local residents in attendance. In talking to them it was clear that the ArtsxChange had become a vibrant part of the fabric of the community --- for regular scheduled meetups, unique creative performances, classes and workshops, lectures, and so much more. The exterior has been painted with lovely murals. It brings a heartbeat to a community in transition. The drug houses and gunfire are gone. Residents are creatives working at Tyler Perry Studio, active retirees, and young families seeking to live in diverse neighborhoods. The location is convenient to downtown Atlanta and the airport. The food scene is on the rise. The people that operate ArtsXchange are very committed to making sure every visitor feels appreciated. It is a great place to host an event too.
