I called in advance to check what would be best with the hospital as my dogs are anxious when they are together, I suggested we can keep one in the car (we have done this before) and only bring in the one that is getting evaluated. They said to bring the both inside. I'm holding the dogs by myself trying to get inside as I'm struggling with the doors the front desk girls are just staring at me. No one moved an inch to try and help. Once I'm finally inside as they see me struggling to get my dogs to sit still they tell me to weigh my dogs MYSELF!! I look at them dumbfounded with both dogs in my hands saying I don't know how to do that. It was then a technician came over to help. They then had issues with my dogs whining saying I shouldn't have had brought both dogs in. On a separate occasion, my mom comes in for an appointment and the dr says to my mom is your dog gonna stop barking. Very rude to say when our dog is in pain and she was just there to see what was wrong.

Even though I was given a written prescription, I waited over a week only to be told they would not work with Amazon to fulfill it. That is an enormous price difference, and the lack of clear communication made the whole thing feel unprofessional and unnecessarily difficult. The facility also felt very outdated and not especially well maintained. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this clinic.

We were informed that after the ultrasound they would call us and explain the diagnosis and potential treatment. No call. No follow up. After a month of waiting, I called to get clarification. During our conversation, i was spoken over repeatedly, dismissed and finally hung up on. These people have no business treating animals, and they have no business dealing with their human owners. They are careless, obnoxious and entirely unprofessional. If you value your pets, you will be better served by seeing literally ANYONE else. AVOID THIS PRACTICE.

Knowing what I know now, his prognosis was not good, but there were some real things that could have been handled differently. For one thing, the doctor did not truly examine my dog or think to xray him to find out why he began coughing in addition to his surface infections. Turns out, his lungs were collapsing. They sent him home with me that day and he died the same night. I wish I could have at least known what was going on so we could understand how much time we had left, it really hurts. I did not feel like Mount Plaines provided adequate care. They just didn't care to look closely at all, and seemed to be uncomfortable with me as I started to panic that my dog was in serious condition. They don't even call the next day to follow up on your pet, good vets do this. I regret using them after i had to switch vets after I moved.

Obviously, having me drive an hour to Dr. Gill's office during a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, only to be told they did not want to give treatment and to drive to an ER 1 hour away, in the opposite direction, is NOT in my pet's best interest! One staff member was especially rude to my mother when she was trying to understand the medical terms he was using (english is her second language) and spoke down to us and treated us like we did not matter. Most of the vet techs were very kind and treated us like human beings (one of the girls was very kind to my dog and I am so grateful for her compassion), but I can't say the same for Dr. Gill and his main assistant. Bottom line: If you love your animal and want them to see a vet that actually cares about their health/wellbeing, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! Instead, find a vet that won't treat you like an ATM!

I called ahead of time to check on pricing for the exam, etc., and one of the Vets answered and was so kind and patient while I explained what was going on. She reassured me they would walk me through a treatment plan we could handle after I brought her in. When I got there, I was met with the warmest, kind, helpful energy from every single person who worked there. From the person who did our intake, to the techs who did her initial vitals and administered her IV later on, (and cleaned up her mess on the way out - TY) to the Vet herself, I felt more than comfortable that they had my girls best interest in mind but were also realistic with what I could spend and how far we wanted to go with her care considering that she's 15.5 years old. After the vet examined her, I was sent a quote via email I could approve via my phone, and while I paid cash, they have an instant link you can pay for your services via credit card through email as well, which I found amazingly efficient and made what I was spending and what was included crystal clear so there was no anxiety about hidden costs. (I also found this place to be INCREDIBLY reasonable in their pricing compared to the other Vets I've gone to in the city). Special shoutout to the tech with the amazing mustache and the woman who administered her IV.... He was down on the floor, with my pup's head in his lap, petting her and saying the sweetest, most reassuring things while the other tech also just gave her such praise that we got some little exhausted tail wags out of her during what couldn't have been a comfortable process. It was just what we both needed in that moment, so thank you both so, so much. I was calm but pretty emotional, and I just felt safe coming here and would 100% come here again if needed, and recommend that anyone facing something like this with their fur baby come here too. The entire experience was quick, efficient, and again.... the kindness and genuine love they showed my baby was all I needed to know to feel comforted during a stressful moment. Happy to report the treatment she received has dramatically improved her condition in just a day, so overall it was a 10/10 experience.

Similar to our previous experience we were greeted the moment we walked in and the vet techs and nurse were so calm and empathetic.
