I brought my dog to Randhurst Animal Hospital after he suddenly lost the use of both of his back legs, which is an urgent and frightening situation for any pet owner. During the appointment, Dr. Kumar was dismissive in tone, raised his voice when questioning me, and left the room while I was still asking for clarification about my dog's condition and available options. I did not receive clear or supportive communication during a very serious medical visit. After I expressed that I was uncomfortable with the interaction, a nurse told me word for word: "Dr. Kumar is a little biased right now." The nurse further explained that this was due to an interaction with a previous customer yesterday. I want to be very clear: the term "biased" was not my interpretation or assumption it was the exact language used by a staff member. Additionally, details about another client's interaction should not be shared with current customers in a medical setting, especially as an explanation for a doctor's demeanor or judgment. Being told that a veterinarian evaluating a seriously injured animal is "biased," for any reason, is alarming and inappropriate. It directly affected my confidence in continuing care at that facility. Because of the conduct during the visit and the statement made by staff, I chose to leave and seek care elsewhere. I was still charged for the appointment. I subsequently took my dog to another veterinary clinic, where the doctor was calm, professional, and took the time to clearly explain the situation and next steps. That experience showed how unprofessional my experience at Randhurst Animal Hospital truly was. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Randhurst Animal Hospital or Dr. Kumar, particularly for urgent cases where clear communication, professionalism, and emotional neutrality are critical. read more

I want to thank all of the staff here at Randhurst. We had to be referred from another hospital due to the complications with an intestinal pilcation surgery. My dog has been a patient for years. Tried to call for 2 days to get my dog in, he needed stiches, no response so I drove there during business hrs but was told without n appoit, he can't be seen. Asked if they could clean the wound, I was told no not without appoit. Horrible way to treat ur customers. Definitely will not b back. Might b ok place for nail trim or vaccines. Do not go for anything else. As for ur response, when calling the office during office hours u r sittin on hold automated call which eventually hangs up, soo how do u leave a message. I asked to hav a wound washed at the minimum, u declined, as a patient. We all know what this vet is about from my feedback on a the sites$. I have pet insurance from Petsmart/Banfield. When they couldn't fit my girl in for two weeks (what good is pet insurance if you can't use it when you need it?)and she had an eye infection in one eye. Her eye was pink, irritated, and was discharging. Randhurst Animal said "Can you bring her in now? We'll take a look". They were very friendly and brought us into an exam room that was clean and you could smell had been disinfected very well. The vet came in and was very sweet with my girl Peanut. Not only did they check her eye for cuts or abrasions but gave me some eye drops. Not only that but on and off for at least a year she was scooting her butt. They (my OLD vet) said it was "just her anal glands". Turned out she had an inflammation on her "girl parts" and probably was scooting for that reason. I feel so bad, I've been giving her pumpkin for her butt when all along not addressing the real problem. As I said my NEW Veterinarian gave me some cream to soothe that for the poor girl. I've been going to this animal hospital ever since my baby was born. They've taken care of my Mochi (who is 3 now) exceptionally well. They've done all her vaccines as well as spay and microchip her. Never had an issue at all getting her seen and the reassured me when I was nervous about her spay incision. They give clear instructions for when your baby is ill. I've taken my new baby Bean in and have gotten all of her vaccines. She will be getting spayed soon! Love this place. read more

My husband and I were taking care of her best friend while she was in town working at Lutheran General Hospital. Our experience with this vet was not good. We brought our kittens there and I had to give them their records from the shelter three times before they actually put them in their file. Took my one kitten there and they didnt even write down what his weight was which was important when i took him in very sick. He ended up with FIP and was losing weight, so knowing his previous weight would have been important to know. Saw Dr. Hartman and he has no compassion or bedside manner at all. Not what you would expect from a vet in my opinion. I felt like they did not care about our sick kitten and he did end up passing away. They deserve a 0. This hospital gave me no recommendations on what to do for my dying chihuahua instead he gave up on her and suggested we put to sleep. My partner was coming here for over 10years with other animals never did he feel so disgusted and the lack of empathy on our 9year old furbaby who clearly had heart disease. Vet just pawn her off to a specialist. Don't waste your time and money. If your dog is really sick never come here go straight to a speciality clinic or energency room.
