Saw Dr McBride once who assured me they would get insurance authorization for needed procedures. Well, have never heard back from the office, have called 5 times in 2 weeks only to be answered by an answering service who claims they forwarded my messages to the clinic staff. Still never a call back or anything! Guess I will go somewhere else. Thank you for wasting my time and giving me false hope Dr McBride!

When I arrived, I checked in at the desk and provided my sample. After waiting 45 minutes with no update, I went back to the desk only to be told that my appointment had been moved to 12:45 p.m. and that I "should have received a text." No text was ever sent to my phone, and I had already checked in at 11:30 with my sample. I was furious, this wasted nearly an hour of my time and caused me to be late for my teaching assignment. I told them I would not be paying for this appointment. They refunded my co‑pay and offered a quick "sorry about that," but the inconvenience was already done. Now they're asking me to come back again tomorrow for the same appointment. I am extremely frustrated with this CSUA location and its staff. The lack of communication and disregard for patients' time is unacceptable.

Last Thursday I had surgery performed by Dr. Bong to laser a large stone and remove it…read more Immediately following the surgery I experienced a level 10 pain. The nurse gave me the max of everything she was allowed to give me for pain and also contacted the Dr. The Doctor never came to see me after the surgery to explain what he had done and what he found (or explain why I was in such pain). My pain level remained a 10 while in post op, but even so the nurse was told to send me home (with one days worth of pain medication). My husband had to stop multiple times on the drive home so I could manage my pain. Then on Saturday my pain level hit a new high, I was home alone with my kids and I was afraid something was going to rupture or something was blocked. I tried calling the doctor, but the answering machine gave me no option to reach an on call physician, my only option was to call 911 (which I did for the 1st time in my life) The ER did an ultrasound and found several more stones and were concerned about the level of blood in my urine and gave me antibiotics. On Sunday my pain continued, but now it was an extreme stabbing in the back after I peed that lasted for about 20 minutes. On Monday I called Pikes Peak Urology and left a message about my experience. A nurse called me back and essentially said that is the way it works, and did I want to schedule another appointment for my other stones and to have the stent removed? I am so appalled at their lack of compassion and how the doctor completely abandoned me after surgery. It is unacceptable for him not to come and see me after the procedure and tell me what what he did and what to expect. It is even more unacceptable to not give me access to his practice after hours if I have an emergency related to the surgery. Finally, it is unimaginable the doctor didn't follow up with me after my ambulance ride and ER visit (knowing it was my only option and he never talked to me after the surgery). Needless to say I am scheduled with another practice in Colorado Springs for all my follow up. As you can imagine, Pikes Peak Urology has lost my trust and my business..

This review with much gratitude is well overdue for an exceptional Urologist in Dr. Ben Coons who…read moretreated me recently and is ongoing with my urology treatment, and then some the last year and a half. In July 2020 we had a scare in what turned out to be a stroke in July and then again in October. In the midst of that traumatic time, it was discovered by doctors that I (we) had a mass inside the kidney. After searching diligently, we finally found Dr. Coons. We (I say we because of me Charlotte and a scared husband Andy SO close to the action) quickly realized there was a large kidney stone in the kidneys again in the midst of two strokes. The time was profoundly traumatic. To say we found 'the finest' Doctor of Urology is an understatement! Dr. Ben Coons from the moment he was introduced ... empathized ... and staff reflected Dr. Coons' kind caring attitude ... from beginning until his wonderful care now Dr. Coons was 'so efficient' getting right to the issue and effectively blasted the stone, in two non-evasive surgical treatments. What was so amazing is how Dr. Coons indescribabl attitude and his staff administration, nurses, etc. from beginning to end were SO kind listening and 'taking incredible care' of me, my husband and I could not believe it. And no this is not a paid advertisement or anything of such, but to say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Ben Coons and staff for administering true healthcare second to none, and we do mean none. Dr. Coons and 'professional kind staff' you are 'the bomb', 'the 'the ones who truly fix', the 'ones who rock' as some would say, simply the best we can imagine! Thank you!
