Robert's team led by Carlos laced the wood back together (they had to take up a larger part of the floor because the boards didn't line up perfectly on either side of the old repair) and were able to reuse many of our existing boards to do it, you can see the new wood over by the wall in the collage. They sanded the floors down and prepared three stain samples (bottom left photo of the collage) based on colors we picked from a fan book they loaned us. The bottom right photo is the finished product and we couldn't be happier with how the floors turned out! They took great care of our home, using plastic to cover the openings to the kitchen and all vents so the dust didn't end up anywhere it shouldn't, and cleaned up the remaining dust when they finished. The stain is Nutmeg from Duraseal on red oak hardwood, with a Satin finish polyurethane sealant.

Isaac also gave us great after care instructions on how to protect the floor during the move-in (unfortunately we couldn't quite wait until the floor coating is fully cured to move in, so we had to be gentle on the half-cured floor and not use wheeled devices on it), and it worked just fine. Isaac also referred us to an excellent electrician, painter, and stairs railing glass maker (not yet installed) and so far it's been working perfectly. They come when they say they will and get the work done on schedule.
