If I was rating this on the syrup section alone I would give this place 5 stars! They have every kind of sugar/sugar free syrup you could possibly want. Price isn't too bad, considering how expensive those coffee syrups can be nowadays. They have a meat section that seems pretty extensive, but not particularly that great for the value. I did find that they had good prices of certain things like beans, and yeast. Not a one stop shop for bulk buys, but they have some stuff that you may not be able to find elsewhere and that's a plus in my book. read more

The parking lot is huge, so don't worry about that. Let me start off by saying they are open seven days a week! The store is pretty big and they have everything you can think of. I was told that this business used to be called Cash& Carry. It's generally a market for restaurant and businesses like caterers. However, the general public can shop here. Come here if you want to have a large barbecue and get a whole loin slab to carve into steaks for grilling. Come here if you are having 20 friends camping with you and you want to get a whole court of pre -made scrambled eggs. Mix in a carton . (If you want to make omelettes for 50 people, this is the place to go !) Come here if you want to buy a whole lot of food, in general. We came here for the first time today and wow - we will be back! The store is easy to find - right off 99 Freeway at Florin and 65th Street. Lots of parking. Store is clean, well lit, easy to navigate. We had outstanding, friendly and helpful customer service from every employee! It was remarkable how happy they seemed and so nice. Made our visit a treat. I came in for coffee items: syrups, toppings, etc. OMG the best selection of flavored syrups I have ever seen. Every brand, every flavor, sugar free, etc. And the price is outstanding - only $5.59 for the large size. We bought five! This is a restaurant supply store so there are large quantities of things - condiments, flour/sugar, frozen items, and more. We were so satisfied with our purchases. I would definitely stop here before you go to any other bulk item store. Because you can find cooking, utensils, pots, containers, etc. The isles are organized where you can find stuff very easily, and the staff are very helpful. Move over Costco and Sam's Club. The US Chef's Store is encroaching our your previously unchallenged territory consisting of bulk food and pantry items. I wandered in on a whim after hearing from a friend that this was the real spot when it came to bulk bargains. It's hard to disagree. The store was virtually empty with aisle after aisle of goodies at incredible prices. I didn't think I needed much when I came in, but my mind was changed by the time I left. I was most impressed with the meats section - a massive walk in freezer consisting of every cut imaginable pre-wrapped and ready to fill up your cart. I also wandered the aisles and ended up buying some condiments, canned goods and utensils. A friendly employee pointed me in the right direction when I couldn't find something I was looking for. I will say the focus here is on bargains and lesser known brands. You'll still find the top quality brands at Costco. But if you're looking for, say, hot dogs, burgers, buns, plates, potato salad, condiments and plates for a big barbecue or something similar, there is no better spot than here. read more

I'm loving that there's another Smart Foodservice aka Cash & Carry location in Sacramento. This location being in South Sacramento of Florin & 65th Street. Today 06/15/18 is the Business Preview for customers to come in and get amazing deals not only the that, but if you spend $100 or more you'll get $50 off your entire purchase!! Now you're talking my language. The inside is very spacious and well organized, much better than the Richards Blvd location. The staff is really eager to help with any questions and all smiles! I'm hoping the staff continue with the same momentum here on forward. Today the have food samples for people with many different diets from the complete meat eater to Vegan! I would definitely, drive a little further to this location due to having plenty of parking. The set up and organization is on point and so easy to find everything. This store is so amazing. Anything you need to stock your kitchen...it's here. I was looking for something to bring for potluck for work. I can decide to cook it from scratch or they have frozen premade foods or they have a lot of ingredients in big bulk. If you need things in large bulks, this is a great place to go to. What I thought was cute to find was these scoopers you put in Dry ingredient canisters. I got those to add to my hot cocoa bar I set up for our family Christmas Party. It was so convenient. Ughh I hate to be the first to not give 5 stars but while I like this place, there were some issues. Walking in, it is very similar to a Smart and Final, actually they carry First Street products, so very much like S&F. I would definitely not say like a Costco though. First issue, the meat section. All meat is priced per pound but the labels have no pre weighed out price nor are there any scales. The selection of fresh non frozen meat was limited. I don't recall seeing any fresh steaks, pork chops or even chicken. It was all prepackaged already frozen. The employees were somewhat nice. While in the meat section though 2 of them came in there to talk on their phones. We asked about a scale and they said we would have to price everything at the checkout counter, which would be a pain for us all. Second issue, they freeze their bread products. I know bread can be frozen, I keep loafs in mine but it was odd only their muffins and Hawaiian rolls were frozen. Third issue, their pricing wasn't too great. I can get a loaf of bread for $1, they wanted $3+ and a 6 pack of bell peppers was almost $10. I will give them credit for some items like their prosciutto. While it wasn't the Parma kind, it was $6.80 per lb and when I buy from the deli I pay $25 per lb (for the Parma tho). Another plus is it is empty! No playing bumper carts in the isles. The whole time we were there we only saw 2 other customers. Overall it's better than Smart & Final but no Co UPDATE: This may be a duplicate, Yelp is trippin at the moment. I have decreased my stars because some of the times we purchased were spoiled or expired. Bag of Cuties were all dry and shriveled the same day of purchase. Bag of avocados, half were spoiled the next day. Pack of deli sliced turkey had a use by/freeze by date of 1/13/19, I purchased in the fresh section not frozen section on 1/20/19. read more

Smart Foodservice Warehouse that used to be named Cash & Carry opened a new location on 65th street in South Sacramento near the Walmart. It's nice to have a second location in Sacramento. I enter and the employees are friendly and are willing to help and answer any questions you have. This location have more employees available unlike the Richard Blvd location. The set up is much more organized and items neatly in place. This location also have both shopping carts and flatbed carts for convenience. The produce is fresh, and they have a great meat selection. All the isles are listed clearly and doesn't have that overwhelming feeling to it. Checking out was a breeze and the staff offered to put my items in my car. I think this will be the location I'll shop at more, because the customer service is all around so much better. If you haven't check out the South Sacramento location, I recommend it. read more

This is a great store. We first found US Foods Chef in Eureka and enjoyed shopping there. As we live near Sac, we started going to the Richards Blvd store which is nice as well but the parking there is limited with small spaces. We found the 65th St. store online and decided to try it. The store is very clean with a friendly, very helpful staff. The store is full of all sorts of goods that you might find in most any kind of restaurant. They have a wide array of spices, drink syrups. sauces, canned goods of all sorts and lots of frozen food. Their meat selection is good as well. I particularly like the sliced beef clod heart (no, its not heart but a shoulder cut). Having it pre-sliced allows me to make jerky very easily. Their chopped beef, which is approx 1/2" cubes, is nice too to use in street tacos, burritos or even stews or soups. They also have large selection of uncut beef such as sirloin and rib eye. The produce section is generally well stocked in both room temp and refrigerated produce. We have purchased some cooking utensils there as well which are generally well made to hold up in the pro kitchen. The only drawback is some of the quantities are quite large as one might expect from a restaurant supply. I was tempted to buy one of the rib eye slabs and take it home and cut it into steaks but it would have overwhelmed the freezer right now. But by and large, there is much there that would interest the everyday consumer and the prices are nearly always lower than what one might find in most supermarkets on many of their items. As always, it pays to comparison shop and know what your favorite market charges for similar items but US Foods is often a good bit lower. There is no membership or retail license required to shop there. I do often see small restaurant owners gathering supplies in these stores. We shop there often and will be back. read more

This is like Costco but without the membership fee!!! This places sells to both wholesale and the general public. The manager(s?) seem to be hard at work at keeping inventory stocked and fresh. The store was super clean. Service was super friendly. Prices were great. Good variety. I'm not sure what more you can ask for! Tip: bring a sweater for their refrigerator section. There are 2 separate large refrigerator rooms. So many varieties of veggies/meat/cheese/dairy. Great deals that changes often as well! I spent awhile in there scoping out their deals. This is wholesale for restaurants, but it has a limited section. There are things you can buy here but is not available at Costco. Clean store. Bathrooms requires a code you get from the cashier. Friendly staff. They carry Smart & Final's private brand One Street. The refrigerator rooms feels great for the first 10 seconds I'm in there then turns super cold. As the other person said, you should bring a sweater. All the refrigerator perishables are in that one room. Smaller shopping carts are inside. read more
