Love this place. Especially for buying my meats in bulk. My mom will find an excuse to come here everything she drives up to visit me. You'd be amazed at the things you can find here. I can't wait to go back here!! Over the Winter School break I love to explore new places. For a foodie like me, that enjoys cooking from scratch and often feeds larger crowds herself, US Food will be a go to place. Prices aren't remarkably cheap just reasonable, especially for often used items with out a lot of fuss. the big quanity is a plus. Envision a larger Smart and Final with a huge freezer and refridge area. If you are hosting or catering large parties this is the place for you. Here are some of my favorites: Wide variety of frozen fish and crusteceans decent pricing Frozen Brussel Sprouts - $3.99 for a large bag Frozen Peaches 5lbs for $12.99 5 lb cans of Ghiradellli Hot Chocolate White and Regular $11.99 a can Large packs of colored napkins for reasonalbe prices Wide Variety of Spices in large quanities similiar to packaging at Smart and Final but much ,much more! My restaurant has been a loyal customer of Chef's for many years. We remember when they had just opened. Unfortunately I had a verbal attack by one of the employee's because I had asked if I could use a cart stationed need a register. She was unwilling to help and talked to me like I was in trouble for just asking. As a restaurant and business owner myself, I suggest that if you feel threatened or discriminated among by employee's, to just stop shopping there and go somewhere else. read more

Absolutely no customer service - lots of employees standing around the entrance but none of them doing anything. It is the strangest feeling - like I am a zoo animal or something - they just watch you come in and walk around but never actually participate. On 2 separate occasions I've ordered items for events through the store only to show up on the delivery dates and they had no clue what I was talking about. Maybe this is where they send the sales reps that couldn't cut it. read more

Under new management? Many food truckers use this store, as well as small business and it is usually awesome.I am not sure whats going on but they have been out of a ton of items. They have not had Torani syrups in over a month, out of plastic cups etc. I started going to Smart and Final but I wish Chef Store got their act together! read more

what a difference in walking into US Foods and restaurant depot.. Tom is always up front making sure he greets you with a hello and smile.. People there are so helpful n polite... I can get in and out quickly and for a small business time is money. US Foods is becoming more of my go to store then the other places now read more

The store itself is big, but that's the only thing I truly like about it. The customer service stinks. My associate and I needed a pack of no powder, vinyl gloves from the top shelf that needed a ladder and when we FINALLY found someone to help us get them down, she was very rude. She gave us attitude when we asked politely for her help and when she grabbed the box of gloves from the top, she threw them down the ladder and then walked away. Also, they should aim for more Torani syrup flavors. read more

I am down at this store every other day so I've gotten to know the staff pretty well. 99% of the staff is really sweet there is just one crabby lady. They're always very helpful! Tip: they have flavoring that Dutch bros uses. It's AMAZING in mixed drinks. read more

Great location and excellent prices. Costco style bulk if not larger packages but more variety. Very restaurant market items but so far we have really enjoyed the food. Had pork ribs for like $1.45 a lb and they were awesome. Will be a monthly visit for me to stock up on items. Nice touch having large parkas outside freezer area to shop in comfort. read more

Oh Chef'Store...I am writing this review in the hopes that things improve, so that we can continue shopping here. We've already scaled back with regular purchases here because of inconsistencies in inventory. Discontinued this...discontinued that... even common items like cocoa powder. This is what forced us to shop elsewhere, since we have to make multiple stops anyway. We can deal with below average customer service, no problem, but now I've been asked on more than one occasion to go locate my own preordered item from the back because of short-staffing, followed by a hunt for another item that wasn't placed on the shelf yet, and that was after stopping in several days before to empty shelves. Finally, upon arriving back to our restaurant today, I opened our order to find that it was incorrect. What bothers me most, is that I don't get the sense that anyone cares at all - not about our dollars spent, not our experience, not about supplying items consistently. As soon as we can locate a similar store to suit our needs, we'll switch for good. Until then, we'll see you intermittently, hoping things improve. Thanks for reading. read more

To all the previous reviewers who compared the Chef Store to local grocery stores: This is a walk in store for RESTAURANT OWNERS to shop for resale for what their "chefs" need, in case they have to pick up items that may not have been on their regular delivery truck from a food purveyor or they ran out of something, OR they like the freedom to browse new products that that otherwise haven't crossed their minds during their daily routine in the kitchen. The Chef Store just happened to open it up to the public, not for y'all to attempt to compare it to something you were looking for in a regular grocery store. (A restaurant owner will not regularly go to Frys to buy the quantity of pasta that they need for resale for 49 cents per pound. It's a waste of their time, and you cannot make tax exempt purchases at retail stores, FYI) As a local business owner, I am very thankful to have the convenience of The Chef Store without the pain of driving downtown for the Restaurant Depot (which is not for the public). Chef store is very convenient for folks buying items for personal use at home, parties barbeques etc... as well as professional folks needing items in a pinch or to save on food cost at their restaurant. Cool place, like Smart and Final on a billion steroids! Yes- It's more of ea restaurant supply, warehouse-deal, but, they have some great deals on the smaller stuff if you try looking. Bought a bag of green leaf, chopped lettuce for about $2.50, and some other fun stuff. If you have a large family, 14 roommates, etc. I'd shop here. I live kind of far away to make this my Go-To spot, but if in the area, I'd hit it up again for sure! read more

Been shopping here for a while now, multiple occasions have they changed the price on me when I get up to pay, they get confused then say they had the product listed at the wrong price or sorry sir we aren't supposed to even have this product, you talk to the manager he is done playing for ZZ Top and does not care about running his store properly, good products but store is ran at a very low intelligence level and horrible management, I have transferred my buying to a store that stands behind themselves the Restaurant Depot read more

Great place for bulk items like Costco without the annual membership. Some items are comparable like the giant chub of ground beef.

Was a little disappointed at how high the prices were on fresh meat and produce. Not even close to competitive with Restaurant Depot. Dry goods and kitchen ware ok but you can do as well at Sam's Club. read more

Gorgeous new store, friendly staff. Nice alternative to Restaurant depot. Seemed like they were a bit nonchalant about not having everything I was looking for and wanted to quickly redirect me to a rep for delivering what they didn't have on hand. If I am out of a product I would like to be able to drive down and find it if I'm a regular in store shopper instead. Not all businesses like delivery. I like to see what I am purchasing when it comes to our fresh items. With this said I realize you can't carry everything for everyone. Overall, great store. read more
