My company has delivered thousands of packages to this facility and I have also sent out many personal envelopes and packages over the years. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and always willing to help. I personally feel well taken care of at this post office and grateful to the sweet and personable staff members. Shout out to Damien & Sammy who keep a smile on their face, help with expedience and tend to carry a positive attitude of support. Note: There are times when there is a line or the service moves slower with complex inquiries from customers. Sometimes I can be in-out in less than five minutes, others can take 20-25 minutes. Do you expect efficiency from a government agency? Prepare accordingly and enjoy the experience with friendly staff... and be nice! Their work must be stressful ;-) read more

Lots of packages to mail out so I thought I'd save my mail carrier (who works extremely hard)extra work tomorrow by taking my boxes and dropping them off through the bin inside. Doors are open and consistently. Sometimes yeah, sometimes no. Depends on what, who knows but it's 3:30 and the bins inside are locked to drop any mail. read more

One of the worst post offices I've dealt with. I've had a package that's said it was delivered but "picked up by individual" but I never picked it up and has yet to be delivered. I've tried calling numerous times but I'm always sent to voicemail? Not to mention everyone here is just so rude and unhappy to be here, they're never easy to talk to or willing to help in anyway possible. read more

Poor Maintenance, Long Lines, few workers. There is a 50/50 chance that your package will even show up to the right address if you live in an apartment. Or if it ends up going back to the actual Office, you get serviced and your package may or may not be there. Phone number will never be answered, ever. I do not have to pay to pick up my packages if they end up there, but that is a big IF it ends up there! I know it's not the fault of the workers, it's not necessarily them I have a problem with. The main workers there know what they are doing and can usually help, but I do not think they are the issue. I think it is just poorly ran and maintained, and the few main employees are all that are holding it together. Just needs major improvement. read more

Three weeks before Christmas with a long line of people waiting for service and there's only ONE clerk. There weren't any large priority boxes available in the rack and only one kind of medium priority box. There weren't any small boxes. No boxes available at all in the lobby. Terrible!!! The outside entrance is filthy. It is littered with used cirgarettes and dirt. Very unpleasant!

They are always short staff and not very helpful. I had purchased abox there and i keep getting strange people's mail but never mines. When i try talking to them, there's is always a long line that is very discouraging. I hope they can improve or hire more people. read more

How can I rate them below 1*? Our packages are on random delivery. Sometimes they say "pick up" and then are marked as delivered. Sometimes they claim our address was "unavailable", which is nonsense. Sometimes they simply do not bother and claim on a "guaranteed Sunday delivery" that it was delivered when it was not. Sometime, our favorite, they simply dump all the packages for our group box ON THE ROAD and claim they were delivered. And no, there seems to be no recourse as they no longer have a direct phone number and once they log it as "delivered" the national number sends you through a runaround. read more

(tl;dr - Often a long line, but not the clerks' or supervisors' fault. Older, smaller building and limited parking. Mostly competent clerks and hard-working carriers.) The USPS nets millions and millions of dollars in profits annually but has been forced by congress to pre-fund their employees' retirement system decades into the future, forcing operational budget cuts that are most visible to the general public by the small number of clerks behind the counter at any official office and the outsourcing of postal services to other businesses who pay their employees less than a living wage. The Ashland post office now has something like one-third or less the number of clerks it had just one decade ago, while thanks to online shopping and shipping services parcel volumes continue to increase at unprecedented rates. So if long lines at the post office bother you, take out that frustration on your elected officials and not the people behind the counter. But I digress... Small-town office with an older building that could use some upgrades or a new location, and definitely needs more parking spaces. Over-worked, short-staffed but mostly-friendly clerks, especially considering they have to deal with long hours and a long line at the counter much of the time. Mostly a great group of hard-working, competent letter carriers who provide excellent customer service on their routes. Often the postmaster is on assignment elsewhere though and his replacements can be somewhat to completely clueless about keeping things running smoothly and efficiently. Also, go to the Phoenix or Talent office if you don't want to risk waiting in line for a while as they are often a lot less crowded or even completely empty. I still give it five stars because I know most of the employees there keep doing their best in spite of everything that is working against them. read more

Totally incompetent! I get they are understaffed, but the ones that do work there don't seem to care about anything at all! My advice is get everything you need shipped to you overnight. Ashland USPS can never get it to you on time, so you are entitled to a refund. You are never going to see any of them hustle, but it's they quickest way to get what you need for the least amount of money, $0 in this case because they can't keep their end of the contract in Ashland. If you really need something 2-day or overnight, and it has to be there at a certain time, on a certain day; use UPS or FedEx. Just my 2 cents. I live on a street with a common mail box, my house is 100ft from the box, it takes the mail carrier longer to write the little card than it would to drive, drop off the package, and come back. I know, I've timed them. So, if it's something important, I'm screwed because I have a job, with regular hours, which means the post office is never open when I'm off. I can't have a friend pick it up, they won't let me; I've tried, they require photo ID, which is good; but doesn't solve my problem. I just moved here a few months ago and I am stunned by how bad the USPS is in Ashland. Every time I drive by, a line out the door! Perhaps we should all be calling our representatives about this. read more

Every time I visit this post office, there's a line outside the door and one person working. I spent half an hour waiting for a two-minute interaction with the clerk. It wasn't the clerk's fault; it's the Postal Service management. They also have no accommodation for people with hip, knee or foot problems. There's not a chair in sight. They guaranteed that I'm going to have a miserable day. read more

It's just fine. It's a small-town post office so sometimes the line gets longer, but they're all super friendly and helpful.
