I've live in this neighborhood 19 years and give them one star. Nextdoor and facebook groups post about this location all the time. Many of us to go other post offices because we don't trust this location. I feel bad for the staff there because there is such a horrible negative grumpy and disgruntled feel there it's always dreadful. Yesterday I drove to the mail drop both of them were stuffed with mail it seems like they didn't empty it in a while. Last week I got a neighbors mail. They aren't great but if you need to use the post office you don't have another choice... I did line up for 20mins to get a declaration slip bc they don't provide them and then was asked to go to the back of the line after I filled it out. Weird, why not tell someone they have to line up again or just provide the slips for everyone... instead of spending 45mins in the post office in line. read more

I'm surprised how horribly run this past office is. Even by post office standards. They're only one employee at the counter. They go in the back and chit chat while there a line out the door. I'm not getting my mail even though informed delivery says it should be arriving. It takes over a month at times. These letter drivers are absolutely lazy. I'm from NYC they walk with a carry, go up and down stairs to the buildings and deliver in rain, sleet and snow. If it's raining too hard the delivery drivers go home. This is a very rundown post office and I typically drop off mail/packages outside, but today, I had to mail something and went inside. There was a wait (I think I waited 10 mins) before entering the lobby as they only allow 3 customers in at a time. I was instantly helped by an employee while the other 2 people in the lobby were filling out forms. There are other post offices in the area but I do prefer this location the best. read more

I am astounded that anyone would find the behavior of the office acceptable. I have never experienced such poor customer service and I never write reviews. I ordered three desks from Amazon separately. All the same desk. They are cheap desks. They weigh 35lbs each. The desks were expected to be delivered on June 9th and June 10th. On June 9th, two of the three desks are marked as "failed delivery." The reason? "Cannot fit in mail receptacle" What? Why would they have tried to fit a box the size of a desk in a mailbox? All our packages get dropped off at the garage. The third desk is marked as undeliverable and quickly fixed. Overall, we received the third desk with little to no issue. It is dropped off at our garage door. As for the other two missing desks, I filled out a re-delivery form and attempted to call the office. No one answers. I called four times. On the fifth attempt, someone picks up; stoic in tone but overall not rude per se. He explains to me that the message is incorrect and the driver was struggling to get into the gated community. Okay, that's a bit odd as we've had no issue with other packages and the third desk was delivered. But I give them the gate code and he immediately hangs up on me. I call back and he says "Oh I was just going to give this code to the driver, you should receive the package in a few days." It was just an odd experience. Days go by, no packages. The office will not pick up their phone. I finally get ahold of someone yesterday (June 16th), they tell me it wouldn't fit in the mailbox and they won't help me. I ask her to speak to the guy who spoke to me, she puts me on hold, she changes her story, "the packages will be delivered tomorrow." Okay cool, I reiterate the gate code and we hang up thinking the issue is resolved. So it's around 3:30 and I have not received these desks yet. I call the office and the woman who picks up laughs and tells me they didn't even try to put these packages on the truck. "They're too heavy haha. We can't deliver them. You'll need to come to pick them up." What? No. They weigh 35lbs. I weigh 100lbs and I easily picked up the (third) desk that had arrived. This is an entirely different story than I've been told all week! I'm flabbergasted and ask to talk to someone else as she continues to laugh at me and refused to listen. They refuse to deliver my desks. I have no means to pick these desks up. I paid to have these desks delivered. Each desk is separate and weighs only 35lbs. I have never dealt with a company that just laughed and blatantly refused to help its customers. So I guess they can keep them because I got a refund. read more

The Ladies at the counter are great, no issue with them. The issue is with the delivery drivers primarily. As of today i have not received mail for 7 days. I have a business and mail being delivered is detrimental. I have spoken with a few neighbors and they have the same experience...no mail being delivered. I checked tracking for an important package that was to be delivered and the scam they run now is they say that there is some issue with the address not being correct and needing to be verified...so they dont deliver it. The problem with that is i have ordered from this company for 5 consecutive years and my address has not changed so an address issue is not possible. What is possible is that either people dont want to work or dont care. I have noticed time after time drivers paying more attention to their phones than the mail they deliver. If you want to get paid for being on the phone get another job. If you dont get paid enough quit and move on. It seems that in the post office the main focus is the music being played in the back room. If it weren't for the main counter ladies i would never go there. I can honestly say that i would vote if possible to just dismantle USPS since its mainly people who don't seem to really appreciate the job. I'm sure there are plenty of companies that would love a shot at what USPS does. Maybe they would actually care about the work they do and not lie to the public when they cant deliver mail. read more

As soon as I walked in the African American female with glasses and red tinted short dreadlocks stated, "m'am we're closed." I stated "it's 4:58" and showed her my phone. I just don't understand why is USPS so bad. Everytime I ordered something from Amazon that showing this item would need 5 days or a week to arrive, it's is through USPS, while other shipping methods are all only taking one day on the US. And when you think 5 days is ok, but wait for it, it NOT going to be delivered on time, they just are going to be LATE, late more than 3 more days, or package lost! That is their normal! When I called them to ask if they found it, I got the nastiest employee on the phone who put me on hold for about 5 minutes. I love love love this post office! I don't understand why it's gotten such low stars. Seriously, my hubby and I have been coming to this post office because it's minutes from our house at grant park. Yes, it's not in the best neighborhood, but I love the ladies that work here! We've come during crazy holiday season and during slow times and we ALWAYS receive awesome, attentive service. And when we ask them to help us figure out a great and cost-effective way to send our parcels (had to shipped a bridesmaid dress overseas in a hurry once and our bulky wedding invites to different continents on another) they always take the time to make sure you leave satisfied. We have never once encountered bad customer service or impatient reps ( that's gotta say something for us postal office). Basically, the usual dreaded post office run isn't dreadful to us anymore because of the super sweet workers here! read more

They never answer the phone when you call. They close early very often. They don't alert you to mail too big for your mailbox, until you make an inquiry. They huff and puff when you ask them to do their job, like get stamps. read more

I was wary to try and attempt a trip to this Post Office on my lunch break after reading these horrible reviews. Thankfully, it wasn't that bad. Arriving at 11:15, I was the third person in line. When I left at 11:25, the line was out the door, but they had two registers working so it seemed like they were able to move at a good pace. The gripes about parking I seriously don't understand, as the lot was not full and there is plentiful street parking on three sides of the building. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Not only did they lose not one but TWO of my packages in less than 4 days, when I called to inquire the "delivery supervisor" Monica McPhadson (probably a fake name) told me she has no clue where my package is, she doesn't know why her employee scanned it as delivered BOTH TIMES, and there's no way for her to tell me where my package is. I then proceeded to tell her that's unacceptable considering this is the second package in less than four days, she then proceeded to tell me that "she cant tell me what i want to hear" and that if i called to make a formal complaint against the courier she would just "call me back and tell me the same thing". She would not tell me what the next steps would be if my package could not be found, said that it may have been sent back this morning but she couldn't tell me if it was or not...like she can't tell whats in her own system. I smell laziness. I am currently on the phone with corporate reporting both her and the courier. Not only did I have two packages go missing, but a few weeks back I had a refund check "go missing" in the mail as well. Seems to me like the next time a package goes missing but is scanned as "delivered" i will be filing a police report. Of course it could go missing once, or even twice, but three times in one month is simply unbelievable. Monica was incredibly rude. If i could chose a different post office to deliver my mail I would. I'm thinking of created a PO box at a different location JUST so these people can not access my mail any longer. Although I have not had the pleasure of entering this PO Location, I have had the frustrating and sometimes damaging experience of not recieving my mail. I have lived in this same residence for almost 2 years now, and despite my numerous complaints about not getting all of my mail, this issue has not been resolved. A number of Bills (Do not really miss those), Personal letters (yes some people do still write) and now a check ($$$) has not arrived in my box. After reading the comments below I can now see why. The people in the line were going back and forth with the office staff yelling. The lady at the counter said she was taking a lunch so if we don't make it in time before her lunch hour, we had to leave. I was baffled by my whole experience here.
