It's a small location with parking directly in front of the building. The office was extremely organized and was set up with greeting cards, mailing supplies, priority envelopes, etc. The employee also made sure she greeted everyone as they came in and she appeared to truly enjoy her job. Although she was the only one in the front, she did not appear to be overwhelmed or rush the interaction. She was also very helpful with my stamp purchase and shared a stamp that was not on display that I ended up purchasing. I was surprised to see the low rating that they had. You're going to wait at the DMV and the Post Office but if you receive a positive experience don't take it out on the employees, most of the time it's unprepared customers.

The time of day will dictate whether you have a long wait or not. I appreciate that they have a self-service machine in the lobby for you to mail your own packages, which is very helpful when there is a long line. Lately, they no longer display which stamps they have in stock in the display cases. When there is a long line, I like to browse the stamps in the case to help pass the time. It also helps me decide which ones I want to purchase...but now you just have to ask the teller what's in stock and go back and forth with them while they check.

Like many post offices in this part of GA, the building is dated. They have a self-service machine in the lobby if you'd like to bypass the line. I went inside to be helped by someone. There was no clear line and people were just standing wherever. Once I started asking people if they were "in line" they started moving to form something that resembled a line and indicated who was in which position--helpful. The worker who I got was a little dry/brash on initial interaction. I complimented her hair and that lightened the mood. Rather than asking me to make selections at certain steps, she hurried me through the process by just instructing me what to push on the screen/pad, and asking me an overarching question: "do you want to send these the least expensive way?" And then she just clicked thru until it was time for me to pay. Overall, it was a quick enough experience. They could likely use more workers. There were only two out front and a growing line.

I arrived around lunch time and it was pretty busy but the line moved faster than any other post office I've been to, the ladies are efficient. There is free street parking and several spots in their parking lot, it is a very tight space and I'm thankful I drive a compact car. The worker that checked me out was pleasant. I was a little confused by them not placing a fragile sticker on my package although I answered yes to the fragile question. I asked and was told they don't apply a fragile sticker but I've been to other offices and they have. I'm thankful my package arrived to the recipient on time and not broken. I will continue to drive to this office for postal services while I live on this side of town.

Raul said he checked and could not find it. I showed a printout of the tracking of the mail showing that it was to be delivered 10 days ago and part of the hold package. There were important documents being held; bills, insurance documents, etc. Amazing that the junk mail was delivered but not the true US mail. Raul said it was the Processing Center's fault. This is the first time in 35 years that I have not had my City of McDonough bills delivered. I have mailed documents from this post office and they never made it to the destination. Someone needs to investiage this post office and its workers. It's a horrible reflelction of the US mail delivery . I do not mail any documents from McDonough. I take them to Hampton, Stockbridge or even take them to the airport. Never mail anything important from McDonough.
