Asked neighbors, put in a dispute at eBay and was denied cause they said post said delivered, and the package eventually was sent back to the seller when I never picked it up from the post office (even though they marked delivered and never left a pickup slip) Fast forward I repaid and had it sent to my OPEN BUSINESS in the same zip where they now said "no safe place to drop package/left messages" even though we were OPEN AT THE TIME. It's the Post Office, it gets a bad rap already. Why? Because people love complaining about it, but where else can you get mostly reliable service for dirt cheap? But the working conditions and funding of the USPS is in a terrible state and you can blame your Republicans for that. Regardless, this one was in bad shape. Before I write my review, I think most of the people who would write a yelp review for this place would come from a more privileged position, including myself, so their standards and expectations would be a lot higher than what you would see at this point, so keep that in mind. The conditions of the place was pretty bad and dilapidated. The service even worse. There wasn't a long wait but when I got up to the window and asked to ship a tiny package, she asked me to turn it around and stick it in the window. The worker was talking to herself, so I thought I would be friendly and joke around with her too, but it turns out she was on her phone. She didn't ask me anything, just punched in the address and gave me the total. Didn't interact with me once. Didn't ask what kind of shipping service, any additional add-ons, or anything. I paid, asked her when the expected arrival date was, and left with a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like to give bad reviews, I usually err on the positive side more often than not, but this place deserves my very rare 2 star rating. read more

I need to start off by saying postal workers probably aren't paid enough and have to deal with a lot of wrath. The woman that helped me found my package and helped me out, which was great. However, when I initially wasn't there to sign for my package, I was given 1 day notice or the package would be shipped back to Germany. I immediately rescheduled a delivery, it didn't show up. Then the mornings after that, I get an email that they attempted in the morning when I was home, they didn't. I made 2 reports with customer service in hopes they wouldn't just ship it back, but when they said they attempted redelivery, it would immediately be shipped back overseas. I called the branch and no one answered so I physically went there and what do you know, my package was there even though an hour earlier it was apparently attempted to be delivered. I don't believe it ever left USPS. It would have still been on the truck if it had actually been attempted. I've never been given 1 day to recover a package from a missed delivery. The floor looks like it has not been swept in weeks and papers on the floor so to be honest I don't feel like they clean anything in here and I'm sure they didn't clean the air knowing how many people come in and out of the post office , so please be careful at this post office . Let me just say first off, the ONLY reason I even bother coming to this post office is because I have a PO Box there that I set up for my business needs, so it would be hard/annoying to close it. Still, I'm debating on doing just that because this post office is HORRIBLE! Expect to wait over an hour to pick up a package (it once took me just under 3 hours to pick up a package!). I've tried to limit my use of this post office: using Amazon locker and hubs; going to UPS stores for outbound deliveries; even shipping what I can to the store and trekking out to pick it there (so fun when you shop from a store that has 2 stores in NYC and the 2nd is way up in the Bronx). I don't even live in this area anymore and the post office near my house is far more efficient. Still, I unfortunately get the occasional package or certified mail so have to deal with the mess here. Today was the last straw. I checked my PO Box and saw that I had a piece of certified mail. Since the post office was nearly empty (3 other customers there), I figured I could pick it up quickly. Nope, anyone with a yellow slip had to wait outside. The line outdoors had over a dozen people and when I asked the gentleman in front of me how long he's been in line. He said about 90 minutes and I quickly nope'ed out of there. I'm not waiting over 90 minutes to pick up a piece of mail! I know I have to go get this letter and I'm dreading that day. Sadly people don't have choices in which post office to use and I suspect this location is so bad because there's a large housing project right across the street, but if you do have a choice, like needing to open a PO Box, shipping a package, or anything else, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

If you have the option to bite off your own legs and then crawl to the nearest post office, I would recommend doing so over going to this location. The postal clerk who delivers mail to our address is lazy, incompetent, and incredibly rude - aside from making nasty remarks to my neighbors, he refuses to actually use our mailboxes and instead just dumps all of the mail in our lobby - I have seen countless envelopes with secure information just sitting in the lobby, when our building has a big issue with theft. I have emailed them multiple times about this, and they have done nothing. Beyond this, the actual location is worse than every post office and DMV I have ever had the misfortune of visiting, combined. These are the rudest employees I have ever seen and if they were employed literally anywhere else, they would all be fired immediately - or at the very least written up - as they severely lack any and all customer service skills. Tracking is almost always faulty, and frequently provides the incorrect information - and instead of apologizing and trying to explain it to you, they give you an attitude as if you should understand the complexities of their broken, abysmal, terrible excuse for a tracking system. USPS is worthless in Bushwick. I put my door code both on the second line of my address and in special instructions for every package I order, and we have a sign on our door asking the carrier to just leave packages inside the door. Without fail, I get a notification that the delivery attempt was unsuccessful and have to go wait an hour or more in this hellhole of a post office to retrieve my belongings. I just got another such notification. I've been home all day and the front door hasn't opened once (or I would have heard it) -- not did my doorbell ring. They make literally zero effort to actually deliver packages. To make matters worse, if you attempt to reschedule delivery for another day, they don't even bother to attempt redelivery. Your package will just exist in no-man's land until either it gets returned to sender or you chance waiting in line forever in the hopes it actually didn't make it onto a truck that day. read more

The only way you're getting your packages, consistently, out of this post office is if you have a PO box, or use a package receiving service - so it's best to just avoid having your stuff shipped USPS in this neighborhood. Attempted Delivery must be some kind of inside joke there. You won't get a slip because delivery will not actually be attempted. Last Saturday I had 2 packages scheduled for delivery. One arrived, and the other was listed as Attempted Delivery. They must think we're stupid or something. Unfortunately, the US Post Office is systematically understaffed and underfunded. There's often only one staffed window open despite the long lines. Wait times are often over an hour. Staff is over worked and unappreciated. The staff does its best to enforce social distancing. This location does not have a drop box, which seems to dramatically impair their productivity. What this particular location does poorly is customer service. Staff routinely fail in this department. There have been multiple occasions where staff has made unilateral decisions on my order without seeking my input, namely regarding receipts. More specifically, the electronic payment keypad asks customers if they'd like a printed receipt or email. Staff, at least in my cases, have selected print even when I've informed them seconds prior that I wanted an email receipt for business purposes. Staff has failed to apologize or acknowledge their wrongdoing. Instead they've told me to "just take a picture of your receipt." I do my best to avoid this location due to the habitually long lines and poor customer service. read more

This place is a shit show. This is the laziest post office. Constantly I have packages that are not delivered. That are missing "delivery scans" and then show up weeks later. Or they just never turn up. Packages that do show up are often damaged and sometimes look like they have been opened. If you are "fortunate" enough to get an attempted delivery slip on your door (which is rare) be prepared to spend most of your Saturday in line here. The place itself is run by extremely lazy people who are rude and straight up liars. It's dirty and I mean extremely dirty. You know the cliche about New Yorkers being rude? I made it my whole trip without actually experiencing a single rude New Yorker until I offered to mail a package for my hostess while I was walking around, anyway. There is a line for package pickup and a separate line for package drop off, then there the senior citizen line and some people milling about after being told to wait. I got rather confused because in Texas there's just one line no matter who you are or what you're doing and the lines were not well-marked and when in doubt, I assume the short line is never for me. Idk which way is more effective (New York style vs. Texas), I just know I avoid the post office. So I was in the wrong line, but I finally got to the front. A bell dinged and I walked over to the next customer sign and didn't see anyone at a window behind the glass. Several minutes passed. It dinged again. I look around wildly, still not seeing anyone, but now someone else from the line came up and also looked confused about where to go. Another ding and finally a lady in the corner behind the layers of glass hollered to me. I came over and apologized for the confusion and she just was like, "Why were you in the wrong line?" I told her I was confused. She yelled about how I didn't understand the weird box drop off thing. Then she yelled about putting my credit card in the wrong place. Something is seriously wrong with the USPS in Brooklyn, NY. Shipped a package Priority Mail on 1/25 from NE PA to Brooklyn - USPS quoted 2 day delivery. Package arrived in Brooklyn on 1/27 and sat "on its way to the local PO" for 7 days. Not one scan for a week. It took USPS 7 days to move my package 6 miles. I opened a case on Feb. 1 called the Brooklyn terminal. Their favorite saying?
