There's a constant high pitched beep sound so homeless people don't hang out here, but then they make you wait at least 45minutes minimum in line. Have never waited less than 30min in line. Have never seen more than 2 people working the 5 windows. Rarely are they able to fully help. Often they can't sell me stamps because "our stamp guy isn't here today." Absolutely the worst postal carrier service to a neighborhood I have ever experienced. In the 5 years I've lived here, I've had 15 packages 'delivered' to some mysterious place I cannot locate, and they cannot help me to locate. Carriers change constantly and few of them read signs on the door saying not to leave packages on the stoop, so they are stolen. Or leave them in the garbage can. Or other fun places to find or not. Whenever possible, trying to follow a tracking number to receive a package when it arrives-- forget it. The carriers often mark a package as 'delivered' at one time and date, to have it show up one or two days later. Zero responsibility, zero common sense, and zero accountability. I'm sorry for the carriers who do do their job right, but these knuckleheads are ruining it for the rest of you. The employees at the windows of the PO are friendly and efficient, but are heavily understaffed and stretched thin. And the 'supervisor' who was supposed to have called me on several occasions when packages have been lost or stolen....still waiting. It sucks when you can't depend on your mail getting to you safely or count on people to do their job with some amount of accountability, care and responsibility. read more

There is something seriously wrong with this post office. I had to renew my license and it never arrived... twice. I then went to the DMV and they said it wasn't sent back to Albany, therefore it was "delivered". I then had them ship to my friends in a different neighborhood and it arrived within two weeks. The same thing happened when i had a lien release sent to me. It never arrived and I was trying to sell my car. I went to down and the manager was "at lunch". More like, they were out beck throwing piles of mail into the dumpster, but ok. I got upset and told the woman at the desk about my licenses never arriving as well as my lien release. The second one I had ordered showed up a couple days later. The final and creepiest straw was when I tried to fight a parking ticket. The letter fighting it, as well as the envelope, was returned to my mailbox in SHREDS. It was stamped as "broken during transit" or something like that, but it looked like someone had torn it into several pieces. I reiterate: there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the post office in this neighborhood. I don't know if it's because they're overworked, but given the SHREDDING OF MAIL, I'm thinking they are just not doing their jobs, and that someone may want to take a closer look at this place. I now take my mail and drop it off at other places, and have important things shipped to friends. I ordered a coat online and they hit me with an "attempted delivery" at 6:25 in the morning. Rescheduled the delivery and then basically got ghosted. No updates; nothing. That was about a week ago. Luckily REI is the best and they sent me a new coat through UPS (already arrived), and so now I get to conduct a bit of a social experiment and see how long this original order stays in the Bermuda Triangle that is the Wyckoff USPS branch. Abandon hope all ye who enter here. New York post offices, man. I don't get what the problem is but Jesus Christ they are all terrible. The lines here range from ugh to complete hopelessness. This is the real problem... they DO NOT DELIVER PACKAGES. I am not even exaggerating. The mail person walks around with those 'you weren't home, go pick up your package yourself' slips already filled out. I work from home. I am always home. When I go to let my dog out and see the slip, it enrages me. They lie, they don't even attempt delivery. The first few times this happened when I was new to the hood I mentioned it to the person at the post office. She acted fake surprised and took down my address. That made no difference at all. I assume this is because the mailmen are on foot and don't want to carry the packages. I don't care. THIS IS YOUR F*cking JOB. The post office is made to get my mail to me. Now I have to schlep to the post office, sit in that scream inducing line and lug my boxes home. Get them a truck. Also, if I do get some type of large envelope or very small box, which they do deliver, they stuff it in my mail box in the most ridiculous way possible, generally ripping the packaging and rendering it impossible for me to pry it out of the mailbox. I have been avoiding going to the post office for a long time. This location is the one closest to my house and I finally broke down and had to come here to mail items for the Holidays. I use stamps.com service, so all I need to do is basically drop the stuff off. But, since I am mailing pre-posted packages, sometimes I will have to wait in line just like everyone else to hand it over. However, at this location I did not have to wait at all. They were smart enough to station an employee that just walks through the line helping people and answering their questions to speed up the process. I think that every post office should have a customer service person like this, especially duriing busy times of the year. read more

I come from a long line of good people who hate this post office. I remember my grandmother complaining about this post office over 25 years ago. Like my mother, and my grandmother before her, I am horrified by this place. Heaven help you if you miss your package and need to pick it up here. It will take the entire day, that is, if you get it at all. Seriously, if I am expecting a package I am more likely to take the day off work and wait like a puppy at the door for the postman rather than risk getting it returned to this place, never to be seen again. Also, it is sweltering, in winter and summer. They should supplement the rent by having those hot yoga classes in here, because if I am waiting there for two hours I should at least be able to strip down to my underwear and get some sun salutes in. You live in an age where you can FaceTime your friend in China while walking to work. NASA has a rover taking selfies on Mars. Yet, your life is wasted standing in line for 30 min before waiting another 20 min for someone to track down the package that was reported as "attempted delivery" but mysteriously no slip was left. The carriers don't do their jobs. The people working at the the office are clueless and mostly worried about your package not being their responsibility. Packages are never scanned after received, so you have no idea if the package is lost or just not checked in. It's impossible to get a postal worker to actually pick up packages USPS promises by their "pick up" program. Leaving your packages vulnerable to theft. I ship hundreds of dollars in packages every month and I can't tell you the amount of time and money I've lost at this post office. It's unacceptable. The United States Postal Service suffered a net loss of $1.5 billion last quarter. If they were held accountable, like a regular business, we wouldn't be expected to just "deal" with their mismanagement and maybe they could make a profit. I truly wish I could give this (and USPS altogether) zero stars. It's worse than the DMV. A package was delivered while I was out of town, I rescheduled a delivery that was never completed. After calling customer service (on hold for an hour and a half) they informed me that many people schedule two or 3 redeliveries that are never completed, and that I was better off just going to this location to pick it up. I talked with a rude employee, gave her my tracking number, name, and address, and waited for her to tell me that she can't find it. She said give me two or three hours and I'll call you. What? Cool. So now I have to rearrange my day for the third time and hope that the next time I go in and Dave found the package that they lost. Can't wait to have another unpleasant experience! read more

Four main reasons to avoid this USPS: 1. There's no self service station so you'll have to wait in a huge line. 2. There's no drop off slot for packages. How is this possible? Once again, you'll have to wait in line. 3. There's no pickup window, so you'll have to wait in the same line as everyone else. Which is ridiculous since pick up should take about 5 seconds. 4. This place is a complete pig sty! How can anyone have any pride in working here? How is it possible that a government owned place is allowed to be so filthy, out of date, and disorganized? It's clearly never been cleaned and rarely attended. I'm appalled. The only plus here is that SOME of the attendant are polite, some are totally rude. How embarrassing that the US govt allows this to go on? How embarrassing they allow this failed and poor institution to represent the USA. I've always thought that the mail system should be something that Americans can be proud of- consider it's history. But today, most will agree it's awful and the competitors are superior. After a few days I noticed it hadn't been scanned so I went in early, waited in line for an hour to be screamed at by a woman saying it went out already. A week later still nothing, go back and wait for an hour and forty five mins to be told by a man that it probably went out without being scanned. The reviews on here speak the truth -- this place does not deliver packages. Also, when you fill out the notice slip to redeliver, they won't take the slip. You have to find a mailman or mailbox and personally give it to them. This has happened twice to me. Then when you go to the post office with the slip, they require photo ID. I went to pick up a package for myself and my roommate, and they wouldn't let me pick up for my roommate EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE THE SAME ADDRESS AND I HAD HER SLIP. Today I called to speak to a manager, as I've been asking for a package to be redelivered multiple times for almost 2 months, and the supervisor, Deirdre Love, lectured me about how I should have picked up my package. I pay money to have my package delivered - why would I go pick it up? So, Dierdre, when you order delivery pizza and PAY extra to have it delivered, do you go down to Dominos to pick it up? NO! Long story short, my package is being sent back to London and I'm never having anything delivered to my address in Bushwick again. Ever. I have been going to this post office on a regular basis for 8 years now, and I have to say, they have recently stepped up their logistics, scheduling, and customer service by a mile. I have vivid memories of waiting in line for over an hour here on any given day, at any given time. Not anymore! The staff here is very efficient at organizing the lines here based on service needs and getting people in and out as fast as possible. The young black man and older Asian man are my favorite employees-always so friendly and genuinely happy to help me!
