I haven't had my fingerprints taken in years and the last time, I think I went to the sheriff's office in Marin County and had to return because my prints weren't clear enough. They offer walk-in LiveScan services and the small storefront on the east side of 4th Street was quiet when I dropped by this afternoon. The two employees were chatting pleasantly and greeted me right away when I entered. Rachel spotted the forms in my hand and guessed correctly that I was there to have my fingerprints taken. Sure enough, like I've experienced before, the first try was unsuccessful. I don't have pronounced ridges on my fingers apparently, but they had a gel that she asked me to rub on my hands and the 30 seconds later we were good to go. Second time was the charm! I'm happy to report that my school covered the costs, so I wasn't privy to the charges, but I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I also checked and found that they offer private mailbox services and can ship via UPS, FedEx and DHL, so the next time that I'm on that side of town, I'll definitely remember them!

I didn't even have time to press her for an answer. She hung up on me. You must not have read my last message to you three weeks ago as I had stated that I didn't care to point the blame at anyone as your employee was rudely defending herself and denying everything. I simply wanted to know what the next steps would be and how to solve this problem but she hung up before I could finish asking that. Then refused to answer when I called back. The last known whereabouts of that package was at your store. You told me in a private message that it was picked up at 2:30 pm but you refused to show me receipts or proof that it was picked up. You failed to answer the questions I had asked in those private messages. You failed to follow up with me to try to de-escalate this problem. But your concern about your associates feelings rather than a customer's satisfaction is very telling. I had every right to be upset. The representative from the FedEx office that I spoke with today even confirmed that you let that package sit there for three weeks. Seems like she knew you've done something like that before. Yes, this case is closed. Mystery solved. You kept our package in your office until two days ago. You can deny it all again and gaslight, but that just makes you look even worse. Please do not reply to me again. *************** I am updating my previous review because I now know what actually happened to our shipment. It's a shame that I had to find out this information on my own rather than from Lester and his associates. A FedEx 2Day envelope containing vehicle registration tags was dropped off at this location on June 16. It was supposed to arrive on June 18 but wasn't delivered until July 9. During that time, my husband and I drove the vehicle from Las Vegas to Boston with expired registration tags because the tags never arrived. We carried DMV paperwork throughout the trip and worried about being stopped in multiple states. While we were traveling, I called this location to ask why the package had not moved. Instead of looking into it, the employee was dismissive, defensive, rude, and abruptly ended the call. After the envelope was finally delivered, I contacted FedEx directly. The representative investigated the shipment and informed me that the package had never left this office and was not picked up until July 7. She also had to apologize on behalf of this office and that a payment was made for $70 for two-day shipping and received it more than three weeks later. The delay itself was bad enough. Being dismissed when I called seeking help was even worse. Had someone taken a few minutes to investigate instead of acting defensive and more concerned about their associate being questioned and ending the conversation, we would have had answers weeks earlier.

On the date of the incident, I visited this business to send a standard document envelope from Napa, California to Santa Monica, California. I explicitly requested the most economical ground shipping option with tracking. Instead, I was informed of the following: That USPS tracking was not available for my shipment; That I was required to use FedEx tracking instead; That the cost to ship a standard envelope would be $47. This pricing and explanation appeared inconsistent with standard USPS ground shipping services. Based on my prior experience using independent mail centers in Benicia and Glen Cove, similar shipments typically cost approximately $5-$13 and include tracking as part of the service. After leaving the business, I independently verified the issue: A USPS representative confirmed that the quoted price was not consistent with USPS Ground Advantage pricing; Independent mail centers in Benicia and Glen Cove confirmed that USPS tracking is normally included and that the $47 charge was significantly above standard rates; I later completed the same shipment at a different mail center in Glen Cove for approximately $13 using USPS Ground service with tracking included. This suggests the possibility that I was either misinformed about available shipping options or directed toward a significantly more expensive service than what I requested. The behavior I experienced may potentially fall under deceptive shipping or misrepresentation practices involving mail services, including situations where customers are: Told USPS services are unavailable when they are actually standard options; Directed toward higher-cost carriers without clear justification; Given inconsistent or misleading information about tracking requirements. I am also concerned about the potential impact on vulnerable individuals. While in the business, I observed elderly individuals and individuals who may have limited English proficiency, who could be more susceptible to unclear or misleading pricing practices. When I questioned the pricing and declined to proceed, I was met with a dismissive response, including the phrase "Welcome to Napa," delivered in a condescending tone. This interaction gave the impression that such pricing and treatment may be considered normal in Napa, which is deeply concerning as a consumer and community member.
