I have lived all over the USA. I have had post offices just like this one with the WPA mural and same insides. This one is not all that different for service either. You often wait in a short line and then you done and out. No big deal. Delivery in other states has been fine too. But the delivery in the state of Maryland is really horrible. Rare to get mail on Fridays or Saturday. If a 3 day weekend, usually never get mail on Saturday. I thought, maybe it was just a bad carrier but, the carrier seems to change every delivery. This was confirmed multiple times when I ask. The street area I live on are added on and no regular carrier takes it. I saw 5 USPS trucks one time on every block. After a decade plus of terrible delivery, I read recently that the data on performance of USPS per state shows Maryland is DEAD LAST. So, it is the Postmaster of Maryland or this zip code that is the problem or; the USPS way of doing business for delivery in residential areas is the problem. But especially in Maryland. read more

Each time i visit this location the workers have HORRIBLE customer service! I will never come to this location again. I am a fellow Catonsville resident for 20+ years and its sad I have to travel to another location due to poor customer service! read more

Has anyone noticed that since the post office replaced the uniforms with any old thing they put on showing their tramp stamps and being on their phones constantly, service has gone down? At least I know when my mail is being delivered. They are yelling so loud on their phone that they are not paying attention. My neighbors and I are constantly delivering mail to each other. Just put it in a box at the end of the street and we will go through it. read more

Packages hardly ever arrive on time, sometimes they are labeled as delivered then don't show up. Staff isn't helpful, I wish I could switch post offices. read more

This is the slowest post office I've ever been to in my life. It's like no one works here...

I generally don't expect any good services from USPS, but at least they should do their own duties. Definitely the worst office I have ever been. I just really needed to ask only simple question before I got in the lines. And the staff yelled at me. All they needed to do is to answer the question and give the guidance. If they cannot give us any guidance, then put some sign on the wall,so that we will know their system. Extremely unprofessional. No enough parking spaces as well. If you have other choices, I definitely recommend to go to other branches, because there are nowhere that could be worse than here. read more

The Catonsville, MD Post Office has some of the worst employees. They are rude, unprofessional, and out-right nasty. After years of using them and hating every visit, I happened upon the Halethorpe, MD Post Office. I stopped at the Lansdowne Landfill before heading up to the post office to ship out a couple of packages. Check with Google Maps for the nearest one to where I was which was Halethorpe. The staff at the Halethorpe, MD Post Office were the nicest people. Friendly, courteous, bubbly, and knowledgeable. I will drive the extra miles and burn the extra gas to use the Post Office from this day forward. read more

Conveniently located at the top of downtown Catonsville, this is a pretty standard post office for a heavily foot trafficked area. I'm not sure if there is free parking in the lot (signs are confusing) but there is metered parking right out front on the street. The good - two staff members were working the front while a third was out helping customers that didn't need to deal with payment (dropping off or picking up packages). This cut down on the lines, and was appreciated. I was in and out pretty quickly. The bad - like most post offices you get friendly and not so friendly staff members. The odd thing here is, because of the high traffic nature, you get this from the same staff members. I would attribute this to lots of customers = short tempter, but they are, by default friendly people here. The annoying - All of the Baltimore post offices I've been to require you to sign your credit card before they will take it. There is no explanation as to why, or how this helps. "See ID" is not good enough. Here's the thing - an unsigned credit card requires the person accepting it to check your ID. A signature does not prove who you are AND by having a signature on the card to copy off of, it actually makes your signature LESS of a proof of identity. And, if I sign it in front of the person accepting it, it has ZERO use. Policy is Policy, I guess, but it's just weird that I only run into this problem in Baltimore. read more

Catonsville post office Sunday deliveries...I live on a corner lot and my mailbox is located on the connecting street to my physical address. There is no walkway or driveway on the street that has my actual address but on Sunday I there is a package to be delivered whoever delivers them always delivers there. I hardly ever open the door on that side so don't see packages plopped there. When we first moved here and got a Sunday delivery containing cookbooks for gifts, it was raining and the books were ruined, so I put a sign on the steps to the porch asking that they be delivered to the porch or the driveway (about 20 ft. away) The next Sunday delivery he placed the package just above that sign. This past Sunday he delivered the packages at the bottom of stairs on the basement level. If I hadn't tracked a package I was waiting for I would have never known it was here. I looked everywhere and finally looked over the railing to see them at the bottom. It's the same guy and I would love to catch him so I can tell him off. He's such an asshole. I am elderly and certainly don't appreciate having to trek down two sets of stairs to retrieve packages. The normal mail delivery person certainly knows where my mailbox is why doesn't he? I'm sure the mailbox has been at the location for at least 40 years read more

There is one lady there who I will not name but is incredibly rude. More than several times I've been there and she has been curt, dismissive, and rude with me and or other customers. Hate that place read more

It would be difficult to think of a more unpleasant experience than having to go into this post office. The majority of postal service employees here that work behind the counter are incredibly rude and hostile. I have seen them on many occasions simply ignore customers standing in line while they carried on personal conversations with each other behind the counter. And, the playing of loud music behind the counter is common. Simply another sign of the decline of the U.S. Post Office. Very sad. read more

The location is too busy. Also, staff are very rude and make the experience that much worse than it already is when you are trying to quickly drop off packages but have to wait in an ungodly long line every time. I mean today for instance I had to drop off a few packages and ran out of packaging tape for one of them. I only needed one tiny piece of tape. I ask the man at the counter if I could just borrow a small piece of tape and he rudely told me I had to buy a whole new thing of tape and that I couldn't have a tiny piece for free... seriously? I didn't bring my wallet and had to walk all the way back to my car (stopping to look at my phone to see if I could just go to another post office and not deal with these people again) and then came back and had to go to the end of the line. I honestly am about to just start driving a few extra miles so I never have to go here again. I run a small business and am here on the regular so I deal with this place all of the time and it always seems to put a damper on my day. You guys need to figure it out. Learn how to be kind and get over yourselves please. read more
