First time I went was a zoo. Today the lot was empty and it was in and out in no time. I used the kiosk so I didn't interact with staff today. The kiosk makes it simple to mail your own package and print your own label. No need to write your name or address because it will print it for you. I used to go to FedEx to mail my stuff but the price of shipping seems to be at an all time high everywhere! This location is quite busy but the staff is courteous and moves through customers quickly. The service is good, but it is unfortunate how everything is nickel and dime'd - expect to pay starting at $20ish to ship something in-state and $30ish to ship out of state - apparently some zones of the country are high cost (I paid $55 to ship a 1 pound package to Seattle!) and you won't know about that until you're already getting ready to pay. I feel that it is deceptive of USPS to put a starting price on something instead of pointing out a range or encouraging the customer to look up shipping prices prior to arrival and the PO. I know to do that, but options are little to none for shipping items. Hope that changes sooner than later. read more

The Post Office in Converse is one of the best I've dealt with. Sure, I've had a few glitches, after all it's going to happen. The issues are shoving things into my box & damaging items. (Honestly, sadly normal); a package mailed to NL, arriving damaged, & never getting my refund (cost $149 to ship!); lastly, often times only 1 or 2 clerks on duty. Now, sure those are annoying, yet I gave them 5 stars. Well, I believe they deserve it. This PO is by far the friendliest, most helpful, & the clerks are willing to go the extra step to make the customer happy. They have good hours, they normally have all the stamps I have to have. This is getting one star because I cannot choose zero stars. This post office opens the 'desk' at 0830. On December 16, I along with at least 30 people were waiting in line for it to open. December 16 was the preferred cut off day for packages to be mailed and received before Christmas. There was one employee working the desk during the time I was there. We could all see there was only one man behind the counter and we all waited patiently. After an hour it was my turn. I had five packages to mail. The man (clerk 82) per the receipt I was given was grouchy and kept loudly proclaiming that he was doing the best he could and was doing three peoples jobs. As stated before, everyone was patient and no one was grumbling or complaining...except him. After paying $55.55 for my packages I took my receipt and left assured that my packages would arrive between 12-19 and 12-21 as the receipt stated. I kept track of them via the tracking numbers on the receipt. All the packages arrived timely except for one. This package cost $20 to send and was being sent to the same address in the Fort Worth area as one of the other packages I mailed. Per the tracking number this package was still at the Converse post office. On 12-23 I went to the post office, again standing in line, so I was there when it opened. I got to the desk where again only one person was working. When I got to the desk I told the lady I wanted to know where my package was as the tracking number still showed it being at their post office. She directed me around the corner to a closed door and told me to ring the bell and speak to the supervisor. I asked if someone would answer the door as there was already a lady there and she had been ringing the bell with no success. The postal worker said that 'Yes, he is there.' After repeatedly ringing the bell, a guy jerked the door open and basically barked at me 'Quit ringing the bell, I am here.' I handed him my receipt and asked where my package was. The lady that was also waiting had the same question as her package had also not been delivered. He talked down to us and told us that any package that had been brought for mailing prior to that morning was not in the post office. This he said after NOT going to look for the package. I explained that the tracking number still showed the package in the Converse post office. He told me it was not true. I asked why tracking would say that. He said there is obviously something wrong with the shipping label and it could not be scanned and so he could not tell me where the package was. I insisted he take my receipt (and the other ladies receipt) and go to his computer system and put them in and tell us where they were. He took them and disappeared. When he came back he said there was a problem scanning them but they were no longer at his post office. When I got home I looked at the paper he printed out. On the paper it stated the package location was the Converse post office and this was verified by SCANNING. So...there was nothing wrong with the shipping label. It was not until Christmas day that the tracking number showed a different location for the package. It had taken from 12-16 to 12-25 for it to move from Converse to San Antonio. The package WAS at his post office and he refused to look for it. Today is 12-30 and the package was finally delivered TODAY. My daughter took a picture of it and there was a clearly legible shipping address, return address, and shipping label. This package was for my three year old grandson. My husband and I are his only grandparents. I was and am still very upset that he did not have his gifts to open on Christmas day. I say all this to #1 get it out, and #2 to state that I will NEVER use the post office for a package again. I will use only UPS or Fed Ex. This post office always seems to be understaffed and the staff they have are rude and do not treat people with respect. I hope the other lady's package was finally delivered. My favorite clerk is Felisha because she is friendly, professional, and efficient. To top it off, it's apparent that she takes pride in her appearance, which is a plus in my book. The worst post office ever!!! After moving into a townhome in Converse, TX on Adolph Scheel Way, I was directed to this post office to have a mailbox setup. Needleless to say, it seemed like the process was going smoothly, but at that time I was told that the mailboxes for that location were in the process of being setup. So, I would have to stop by the actual post office to pick up my HOLD mail. However, a few days later, upon my first return to pick up my HOLD mail, I was not able to pick up the mail at the designated HOLD mail window because, the staff was too busy at the regular window to assist customers at the HOLD mail window. So, I got in the regular window line and 20 minutes later, I made it to the regular window and was told that I have no mail. This went on for a few weeks and sometimes I got mail and sometimes I didn't. However, I am writing this review because for the past week I was strung along with the belief that my keys were going to be issued. So, about a week ago, I saw the mailperson deliver the mail to the boxes designated for my residence. So, the next day, I went to the post office and was told the keys would be ready the next day, so I returned the next day and the same thing was told to me, "the keys will be ready tomorrow". So, this went on for three separate occasions (Friday, Saturday and Monday). So, on Tuesday when I returned, the keys were given to me. However, when I went to the mailbox and attempted to open the mailbox, no access, the keys did not work, I tried all of the other boxes that the keys would fit in and no access was the result. After all of that, the waiting, the driving back and forth, the attendants telling me that the keys were ready and that not being true. The disappointment and frustration of having keys in hand but, they don't work is too much. The Converse Branch/Annex of the USPS is the most unprofessional and incompetent branch that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. During all of this, on one occasion, I was told by a supervisor that assisted me at the HOLD window that the keys would be brought to my house by the mail delivery person. Have been trying to call them for over an hour with no answer. Has anyone ever heard of having to pay to pick up a returned parcel? Let me really paint the picture. Mailed an item to my father standard ground using USPS which painfully cost $37 for a lightweight backpack which measured 18H x 14W x 8D. The parcel was accepted by the clerk and was to be mailed. Three days later we receive a postage note stating that we had a parcel to pick up, but it would cost $37. My wife went in to the post office to pick up the parcel, and the clerk told her that it would cost my wife $37 to pick it up because it was a "one way" parcel and we had to pay for it to be returned because the packaging wasn't good.. If it were going to be returned because of the packaging, why did the clerk accept it in the first place? WTF!?!?!? I will NEVER ship another item via USPS.
