However, someone over there, I wish I could remember her name, drove all the way from the post office to my home to check into a box that wouldn't open correctly. My bf and I had to drive to Corte Madera, because this was the only place near our area that had the soonest available appointment for passport. We had an 11:30am appointment, we had most of our documents, but had to go to a UPS store to print out additional items. In the beginning the service was a little weird, because we had multiple people help us. Due to breaks or something. This one guy Tim, who I think may have been the manager, was slightly rude. After talking to us and discovering that we needed additional paperwork, he gave a suggestion to who to call and where to go. He then asked us if we were in a hurry to get back, when we said no... he said "go take care of this and have some lunch. Come back around 2. I need to eat lunch too because I am very hangry right now" he wasn't totally lying! The best part was that the fact that he admitted to it, I wasn't so annoyed anymore. Also he was an elderly kind of man, so him saying "hangry" made me laugh. When we got back around 2. The vibe was definitely different. It was more cheerful... he saw us and shouted "oooooh there you guys are ! I thought you weren't coming back" he cracked a few jokes, so did some of his co workers... it was definitely a different vibe. Just a suggestion, don't noon appointments around the lunch hour .... Definitely one of the better USPS I been to. Only came here because this was the earliest appointment I can get. Tim & his team made everything quick and easy. I messed up some of my printing and the lady reprinted it for me without showing any signs of frustration. It was my first time applying for an adult passport and I'm glad I did it here! read more

Terrible wait times on multiple occasion including today where me and several other customers waited over 15 minutes with no clerks at the windows!! Was finally able to flag down a non-customer facing mailroom person and to ask if the office was even open. She politely found help since "they were", but all clerks were on either lunches and breaks simultaneously. Two clerks came back shortly after that, but very frustrating to wait around without being acknowledged whatsoever for so long. I would prefer if they closed for lunch instead of receiving this type of service. read more

Had to ship a bunch of different shaped and weight items today for some eBay sales, and had a very smooth experience! Mary was very polite, patient, helpful, and pleasantly conversational. Not the typical USPS office visit in my experience. I've found that employees are often a bit stressed out and project that onto the customer, but today's experience was delightfully different, and I want to issue Mary a specific thank you for that. read more

We had a PO Box here for the last several years, so we came here frequently. Lots of times long lines, but there are a lot of people living in the area. Tim is a fun guy and lends that hometown feel to the place. He is always helpful and happy. Mae recently did a great job helping me to find a package that had been forwarded to a new address that I was not living in yet. Same thing happened to me. Package Marked as delivered in/at mailbox, yet the mail for the entire complex hasn't even come yet. They are lying. I walked out 1 second after marked delivered so there is no time for anyone to have stolen it. And the neighborhood is very safe. Ridiculous. Day after delivery they came and dropped off a neighbors package but not mine. Phone isn't answered. They don't deliver mail on random days they are supposed to. A few weeks ago package was never delivered and NO note was left on the door. I tracked it and then had to pick it up from the post office. They NEVER told me so for weeks it just sat there. They were just days from sending it back. They never attempted a second delivery. read more

I accidentally lost my receipt for a package that I had sent from this post office. I don't live in this community So I couldn't go in to check. I called this post office and spoke to Tui, one of the postal employees, who said that she would research it and call me back. She called me back within 30 minutes; SHE HAD LOCATED THE TRACKING NUMBER!!! TUI is GREAT!!! She needs to be promoted!!!! read more

I highly recommend avoiding this location for passport applications. The manager, Mary, was rude, misunderstood the application procedure, and refused to process my application. I spent over an hour making multiple calls to passport processing agencies to confirm that an expired passport can be used instead of a birth certificate to prove citizenship, but still she insisted I couldn't apply without a birth certificate. Thankfully, the third time I went in, Tim and Jay were very helpful and kind and processed my application. read more

I have had dozens of packages fail to reach me since living in Larkspur. I lived in Oakland for 6 years and never had any issues with packages being delivered or stolen. In instances where there is a tracking number, the package is marked as delivered, but I never receive it. Then, in many cases, the item shows up back at the original sender a month later. This leads me to believe the item is not being delivered, but is "held" at the local post office, however there is no paper or digital notice to alert me to this so I am unable to retrieve it from the post office and it gets sent back. In other cases, the item just doesn't show up anywhere. I tried calling the post office to see if a package that this has happened to recently was there, and they just repeated back to me that according to the tracker, it was delivered. I no longer trust the USPS to deliver packages to me in Larkspur. read more

I put in a forwarding address in Dec.6 2019. I was expecting a package at the end of September 15, 2020. I received notification that my package was shipped and I could expect it around Sept. 23. Never got it. I checked the tracking number and it said it was delivered. I got a hold of the new tenants of my former address and they never received it. I called the Post Office and a person named Mary said "it was first class mail and not insured so there's nothing they can do. I asked why would it be delivered when I had a forwarding address and she said we are not perfect and you just fell through the cracks and its to bad but nothing can be done. They are lying. This problem was rampart while I lived there in Larkspur and obviously continues. I think once they see a package with a forwarding address they know that it can be misplaced and no one will be able to prove it or get any satisfaction. If you go into this post office, plan to be there 10-20 minutes, not matter when it is. The people at the counter are friendly enough to the customers -- they're just very understaffed, and if anyone is shipping something internationally (which, hey, happens a lot in Corte Madera) the new processes make this take forever. If you're fortunate enough to be in there when two people are both working at the counter, you may have less of a wait, but I've been in there many, many times, and now I just know to wait (and not to go there if I'm in a hurry to be somewhere else). read more

Why have a phone if they won't answer? Worse yet- they pick up the phone then hang up. Plus they are rude when you go in to mail packages. Lastly, the the past few days two packages were not delivered to my mail box. When I call, they say they were. My mail box is locked so no one could have stolen the packages. read more

Get your passport somewhere else! Pros- You can make an appointment. Cons- Work is done right at the counter, there is no secure room. All documents are left out in the open when you go to take a photo. The officer doesn't know the rules for needed documents. The officer is rude, and slow. The delivery service in this town is great, and the staff in back who make this post office run are always super helpful. However, the window service is managed terribly. I heard on the radio that 'today was the busiest mailing day of the year'. I walked into the Corte Madera Post Office and one clerk was behind the window. Where was everyone else on this 'busiest' day? Who knows? The line was out the door. On busy days, you always see the supervisor patrolling behind the counter. She is 'supervising'. I was on line here once when a women walked up to the counter with a medical emergency. The clerk asked her to step aside so he could help the other customers. I sat her on a stool and called 911. Crazy. The best part is watching the clerks bicker among themselves and call each other names under their breath. You can tell morale is low. I worry about their sanity, as well as the customer's sanity. Avoid. read more

I upgrade them a bit because they've been getting all my mail to me, even the ones with mistakes or omissions on the address. Also, the customer service was good the time I went there. If you need a bigger post office, try the one off Blithedale Ave by Whole Foods in Mill Valley. read more

if you have enough time and a car to go to another postal office, please.... go!! i stopped by at this location several times, not because i like the service, its simply closer to where i work. lunch time around 12 noon to 2pm, not very busy in the postal office, but i still need to stand in line for 5 to 10 minutes. bring your own shipping tapes otherwise they gonna charge you for it (full price) if they see you use one of usps's, even tho some one else probably used that tape and left it on the counter. read more

It's rare to say you always get great service at a post office. But this Corte Madera branch is the exception. I have always loved the staff. I sold something on ebay recently and I decided to use the usps flat rate box cause its kinda cheap. Tim behind the counter was really helpful and told me about tracking numbers and insurance. I wasnt aware of this because of ebay people can say it wasnt shipped if you dont get a tracking number. Thanks Tim great customer service read more
