Went to mail a package, needed a single piece of tape for my box and they wanted to charge me $1. A dollar. I get that things cost money but seriously. The owner has directed his staff to not help out customers and ensure they pay an entire dollar for a single strip of tape. This is why we can't have nice things. read more

I went to this location with a simple task, just mailing a large box. The transaction was fine, except for the phenomenal rudeness of the woman behind the counter. No greeting, snappy questions, dismissive responses. Since I purchased a large amount of insurance for the item I was shipping, I requested a printed copy of the terms when given the option on the screen. Her exact words? Tom, the owner(!) I figured out later, took my passport photo, which was not accepted online at the official .gov site, probably due to being dark and grainy. The photo my friend took that same afternoon was accepted and submitted with my renewal. I emailed Tom the photo error message and the photo that worked, and requested a reverse charge. No reply. Went in couple days later, Tom was not there but I heard him through the phone when clerk called him. He said there was no way my other photo would be accepted and denied the refund. Couple weeks later my new passport arrives with the photo my friend took. I bring all documentation in to Tom. He says I should have come in for a retake, they're open 6-7 days a week (really? time and hassle, for another inferior photo?) I say it was time sensitive. He says they don't do refunds - no reference to policy, no apology. He says have a great day. No, *you* have a great day, Tom. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the customer support I received from The UPS Store. The product I purchased from Amazon was a return and when I walked into the store I was waiting to be helped even though there was no one in the store. Makes sense when the girl that came out from the back was wearing earphones how would she know a customer is waiting. This representative was rude and unhelpful. Passive aggressive when she with a nasty attitude asked me to place my package on the scale. Seems like someone who doesn't care about providing quality service and just there for the paycheck. I expected better service from a reputable business like The UPS Store. Will try a different location for the foreseeable future. read more

This store is a constant in my life. They are efficient, friendly and always helpful. It's one errand I never dread.

Hours say 8:30AM open time. Is it open? No. All lights are off and doors are locked. It's a shame because they have the privilege of using the UPS name, but don't follow the spirit of excellence that UPS has earned. Very nice people! Outstanding friendly service. Over 90% of the time I am waited on right away and when I do have to wait it usually doesn't take very long. It's a very nice store and a great location with wonderful staff and ample parking, including disabled parking. This store has some features that my other favorite UPS store doesn't have so when I need something special I go to the third Street store. The rest of the time I always patronized the one on fourth Street in San Rafael as service there is always very prompt. read more

This UPS store is in our neighborhood so it's an easier location to return things to Amazon. I was in this store a few months ago and had two extremely rude clerks, sisters no less working a return for me. They were so out of line and put me down that a customer stepped in to admonish them in my behalf. I did call and talked to the owner, a very reasonable guy. And since then, one gal is gone, but the other stayed employed. She is still unfriendly and dismissive but manages to disappear when she sees me. I was in again a couple days ago to return some blinds to Amazon. I had forgotten to print out the single page return label. BIG MISTAKE!! Don't ever forget to do that! Sure you can have them print a label but it will cost you $3.67 for a single sheet! Of course prices have gone up, but this seems to be a smaller example of price gouging. read more

The guy that works the morning shift in this store is a superhero, but shame on the cheap owner who only staffs the store with ONE PERSON before 10 am. The line is sometimes out the door, especially if people are using the notary services. To have one person in a store this busy that handles so many different things is ridiculous. One notary customer can easily take 10 minutes which means the line is out the door. Hoping the owner of this franchised store deals with his staffing issue or else I will be escalating this to corporate. Aside from that, great service with efficiency and a smile. read more

This UPS store is the closest one to where we live. We just recently had great service from them on an important short notice notary signing that was crucial for to us to get quickly. We are very thankful they are there and push themselves to remain as a local service to our benefit and advantage. I walked out and cried because of how I was treated. All I said was "my name is misspelled on the label" and the employee proceeded to shame and School me on the fact that I should check everything before accepting. My mistake was accepting two previous labels before noticing the mistake on my name, but I usually gravitate towards checking the recipient info, not mine, especially after I spelled it 2x in the beginning of the process. I would strongly advise of staying away from this business the lack of customer service and overall rudeness by the staff is atrocious. After me refusing to name the exact items in my package I was refuse service I would strongly advise to go to any other business especially FedEx which is just across the street. When I explain to the nice down there behind the counter that I would be filing a yelp review and other reviews and taking action he just giggled and laughed and said nobody cares my boss doesn't care I get to do this. I don't know why this store has a less than stellar review. I've been here several times, and each time the people here are pretty great. Tucked inside the Montecito Plaza, the store is only steps away from Trader Joe's. They can make copies of documents, mail out anything (and even package it for you) as well as provide notarial services. Everyone here is super helpful and friendly. read more

This place tried to charge me $1 for 12 inches packaging tape. I explain the quality of packing tape just isn't what it use to be and unfortunately the scotch brand tape I used didn't hold. Both clerks stated that they couldn't make any exception, because this was the owners policy. Apparently this only applies at this particular location, because I have never had this issue in the past at any other UPS stores in Marin County. read more

This review in no ways reflects on the employee's of the store. They have always been more than helpful and courteous. I had been a customer (mailbox) of this UPS Store #2623 for more than 13 years, since before it was a UPS store. I use the box for my business correspondence and receiving of product. I also pay their exceedingly inflated prices for shipping occasionally, because it was convenient When I told the old owner I would be having big boxes delivered his response was "that is what we are here for". The big boxes are usually TV's and are big, but never have the boxes sat more than a few hours in the store. I pay for my box a year at a time, and have always done so. When the renewal notice arrive in my mailbox this year, I thought it was higher, but paid it anyway. I have no problem with small yearly adjustments, but when i compared this years "rent" to last years, it was doubled. When I asked the owner, in-person, about the doubling of the rent, inquiring if he had a reason or why I did not receive notification, he responded with(verbatim quote) "well you know, its like any business, you just raise the rates." When I asked again about notification he shrugged his shoulders. I asked for my small package that was behind the counter and when he walked away I told the guys behind the counter that I have two boxes coming in on Friday. When The owner returned he said, "um yeah, that's why I raised your rate, you get so many big boxes". I have absolutely no problem with paying more for the service, I mentioned it to the owner a couple of years ago and his response was "just get it the same day as it comes in". But to be met with such indifference about doubling rates with no notice, something that would lose me customers and any referrals in my business, I feel compelled to write a negative review. In my opinion, alienating loyal, long time customers is not the way to keep a business running, at best it will lose customers and generate bad reviews. read more

I've had a PO box here for years. The staff is helpful and nice anytime I've needed help. Occasional mess-ups when I needed to pick something up in the after hours box but I turn those occasions into opportunities to joke around with them. They're human after all. I've used a lot of their other services over the years as well and I've always been pleased. They can get busy as well as the parking lot can be a bit crazy during weekends. Watch out when you pay $24.00 for a letter to be delivered by UPS 2nd. DAY AIR and it doesn't arrive on the 2nd. day. I mailed my letter with UPS on Saturday the 27th. It is now almost 5:00 pm on Tuesday August 31st. and my 2nd. DAY AIR LETTER HAS NOT BEEN DELIVERED TO SCOTTSDALE AZ FROM SAN RAFAEL WHICH IS THREE (3) FULL DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF MY LEAVING IT WITH UPS. When I called the store the woman on the phone would NOT let me speak to the manager and she wouldn't let me speak to (or even know who was) the owner. And she offered me nothing although I did ask for a refund to the lesser charge for 3rd. Day Delivery. She said 2nd. DAY AIR is not guratneeed. I'm not making this up. However if you send the same package 3 day delivery with UPS you only pay about $12.00. That seems to me to be something like a 'bait and switch' getting you to pay about double for the 2 day delivery even though (I was told today) it is not guaranteed. You think your package will be delivered by the end of the 2nd. day so you pay double what it might cost for it to arrive on the 3rd. day but you could be in for a very unpleasant surprise as was I. 2nd. Day air is, she said, NOT GUARANTEED. It is my intention going forward to use Fed Ex and not get duped into the the 2nd. Day AIR UPS charge of $24.00 which, I learned about half an hour ago, is NOT GUARANTEED. I paid $24.00 when I sent it on Saturday and it is now 5:00 pm Tuesday afternoon (which is 3 full days after the day of delivery - not two) and the letter has not been delivered. The tracking interface said the letter is now ESTIMATED to be delivered tomorrow before 7:00PM. Boy it that ain't a crock of 'you know what.' They know how to charge you for 2nd. DAY AIR but they don't guarantee it will be delivered on the 2nd. day or the 3rd. day (that's today for me) and, for me, delivery on the 4th. day. is only estimated. What a crock! Complete bozos. I had a very important time sensitive document to notarize that required multiple parties to coordinate at a rendezvous point. I got in touch with this location the day prior to assure a Notary would be available on the date and time and I was assured that they would. When I arrived I was rudely told "No notary until tomorrow". I say, I was told differently. "I don't know nothing..." and dude walks away.
