Set in the historic Downtown Culver City area, it's easily accessible by foot from any of the local spots in the area. This post office is awful. There's always just one worker handling a line that usually spans out the door. This post office is stuck in the 1980s. It took me 1 hour of standing in line to mail a package. There drop off is just a giant cart that anyone could just walk in and steal your package drop off. No security, no consideration. Sigfreido and the older woman with the glasses are absolute sweet hearts!! So helpful and kind never have a bad thing to say. Whoever the other woman that is usually there very obviously hates her job. Not only was she rude to me but also the elderly people she was servicing before me. Literally seeing her behind the window and hearing her remarks under her breathe through the glass killed my day. I will wait in line and let people skip me just to avoid her processing my shipment. This is my local post office and I love it. It's small and old school. Nothing fancy, doesn't operate at lightning speed, but I don't mind. It's like stepping back in time. And the clerks have always been kind and pleasant to me. read more

I've been to this beautiful, older post office 20+ times and have never had an issue. No Sat hours so that is disappointing but 9-5 on weekdays. First they ask you if you want express, then priority, then standard first-class, etc. (usps is facing dramatic revenue declines due to the current economic environment) I like to hear the prices drop as I shake my head until they reach the cheapest possible price that matches my time frame =) The postal clerks are always friendly but there's only two (sometimes three) active service windows. I usually get this older asian woman - she cracks some dumb jokes sometimes - maybe I'm too easy to please but this makes me happy. There's also this guy with long dreads who's got some personality too which is nice. I'm always in-and-out like the burger whenever I visit this place. I've never spent longer than 5-10 there on any visit. No passport service, free parking on the side. read more

If you end up at her window, you'll be there twice to three times as long as you would anticipate. Bring snacks. Maybe a book. She's not in a hurry. Let me say that again. She..... is..... I have to agree. The guy with the dreads is absolutely useless! He sent me away 2 times to re-do my labeling, when he could have just explained EXACTLY what I needed to do the first time. When I got back in line for the 3rd time, I got to see the other lady at the window instead, thank god! She said my box was good and didn't hesitate for a second. I'm not an idiot. My girlfriend and I were on our way to Native Foods Café yesterday (07-18-2013) and almost forgot we needed to make a stop at the Post Office. I still kick it 'Old School' and actually still use envelopes and stamps, yes its true people still actually do this. While driving down Culver Blvd we spotted this Post Office only a few blocks from Native Foods so we stopped. Parking seems to always be an issue on Culver Blvd but not when visiting this Post Office. You have the option of parking at the 'green' curb in front (30 minutes only) or the 'free' adjacent parking lot. We decided to go with the 'green' curb. When you do park you are given the option of either using the curb side mailboxes or actually walk inside and obtain service, we decided to walk inside. When we walked inside I was pleasantly surprised to see how empty and clean this place was. There was no line and we were in and out of the door within maybe 2 minutes. The service here was quick; the Postal employee seemed quite knowledgeable about his chosen profession and while waiting for our business to be concluded we read some of the posters that were on the walls. Come to find out and depicted on the poster of what you cannot mail using the Post Office is Nuclear Waste, this is good to know. If and when we are in the area, which is often because my girlfriend and I love Native Foods right up the street we will definitely come back to this location. I would come back to this location simply to check-out the painting on the wall; it is kind of trippy in a very cool sort of way. If you are in the area make sure you stop by and check out the painting inside of this Post Office. This location compared to our normal go to location by LAX is night and day. read more

Great Britain - Technically Europe Austria - Continental Europe THE TWO ARE DIFFERENT. BUY A MAP, SHANAE!! In mailing an order out to Austria today, the clerk just coded it as Great Britain, because I put "Austria/Europe" on the outside and on the customs form. When i brought it to her attention, she blamed me for putting EUROPE on the form. I told her that when I don't put Europe, her coworkers think I make a mistake with AUSTRALIA and ship my goodies there. So, instead of reading the entire address and seeing it was actually the real country of AUSTRIA, the just coded it as shipping to Great Britain ... I don't know where it would have gone if I didn't read the receipt before I left!!! Can anyone just read what the hell I very legibly wrote? I know you deal with stupid customers all the time, but not all of us are ignorant dolts. Do you take a geography test to work at the USPS? You should ... I've even been told that Austria does not exist and I can't send my package there. This mistake even overcharged me by $10 and I had to complete a long form to get my return. I hate the post office. so i race over there this afternoon to get there 15 mins before they close. thought i could get something out via 'priority' there's a line of 20+ people. 1 person at the counter. ONE (!)......person at the counter she's in no rush 15 mins goes by. I'm halfway up the line. the next person goes. the mail woman said that she's "closed" huh? say what? it's 5pm. she said that she would be into overtime if she went past 5pm. I can't believe I even bother going here. EVER. The post office on Jefferson and Sepulveda is so friendly, they even remember who I am there! The one on Motor in Palms is incredibly efficient and friendly. THIS ONE?!? Every time I'm there, I wait for over 10 minutes to be harassed, yelled at, scolded or leave because the supplies themselves (shipping packages, stamp styles, etc) aren't available. There is a SERIOUS problem with management if they think hiring these kinds of attitudes is acceptable. I go to the Post Office to send packages that will create a joyful experience but in mailing gifts or finding lovely stamps to enhance the items I'm sending from the Culver Blvd Post Office becomes an irritating, grating, acidic chore. We had a great postman for a while and didn't have to deal with this horrible post office. Then he hurt his knee - came back a bit - then I guess left again (hope his knee is doing better!). The current postal delivery person is not terribly happy in her job. They keep switching delivery people. For this reason we get these common issues (weekly, sometimes daily): 1. Refuses to pick up outgoing envelopes - just ignores and leaves them 2. Delivers mail from other streets/neighbors. Sometimes close enough for us to walk over, sometimes have to put out to be redelivered. If you don't write "DELIVERED TO WRONG ADDRESS" these will be ignored (see point1) 3. Overall attitude at the branch is FU. Always been that way. Slow. Deliberately unhelpful. Many years ago I complained to the Postmaster General about the poor quality of mail delivery in this neighborhood. I've lived in very densely populated cities (NYC) and never had such a hard time getting the right mail. I often wonder - because I get other peoples' mail so often - what is happening to my mail. This place is so ghetto I just had to write after one of the most unprofessional and irritating experiences of my life this morning (5/30/14). Hello, this is a government building. The opening hours are 9am. So why did nobody show up at the window until 9:14, and then proceed to have an "I don't give a shit" attitude when the (long) line of customers (who undoubtedly also needed to get to work on time) questioned WTF was going on? This man with dreadlocks was basically the only dude running the show and he even had the nerve to ask me if I was the customer who walked around back and banged on the doors a few minutes prior (um, no, I wasn't...that was the guy behind me in line...now what you gonna do about it?). There were some sweet old ladies in line too who had some questions and he basically brushed them off as well, as if he was in a rush because the line was backed up. Um, if you had showed up to your POST on time, maybe you could answer everyone's questions and provide SERVICE WITH A SMILE, like you are supposed to do? I am sorry but it is not my problem that you make $6.95 an hour, if you can't deal with minimum wage go finish your education and get a job that pays better! I avoid the DMV and the post office at all costs; I would rather pay a premium at Mailboxes Etc. than deal with these clowns. I hope and pray they really do go out of business as the reports suggest because I don't want my tax dollars supporting any so-called business that can't even ensure its employees open the doors on time when there is a long line of people waiting? I walk in and speak to the clerk who is re-stocking shelves. I patiently wait. The hours posted to open read 8a. It's 8:45a. I stand in line at least 10 minutes without the clerk ever mentioning to me anything different. She continues to stock. She goes to back several times while I'm standing there. Not even a simple, "Just a moment lady, we ain't open yet." Nothing! I continue to stand in line (Apparently, everyone else got the memo because no one else was in line with me.) It looks like this Post office has no Station Manager or it's incompetency at it's highest level. They need to close this station or bring in a new staff. I like the way they have customers parcels sitting in the lobby area. They should held liable in a event of loss or theft. I'll no go to USPS.com and ask them why customers can't leave a package in an secure area. Very least they can do is put a mail cart in the Line of Sight so the employee knows packages are being left. Leaving packages outside of a glass door is just stupid. Waiting at this station is not an option they are the definition of slow. If there is a Manager show your face help a customer or walk the floor show you exist. read more

Alicia is a very rude customer service person. She saw me standing in line but went about her things without even acknowledging or helping me for 5 min. When i stepped up to ask if i can drop off my prepaid packages, she told me to drop them off at a bin where everyone can have access to my packages. I told her i wasn't comfortable of leaving my packages there and if she can take them, she said no and walked away. We pay taxes for this kind of service. I went back to the post office today to get some stamps, and also to ask for an update on a package. I had a package shipped out a month ago that arrived in the US two weeks ago, and sat in the same place for 10 days. It finally arrived in LA three days ago... in Beverly Hills. And hasn't budged since. I was a little nervous to ask for an update on it, but the employee there was very nice and checked the system for me, and informed me that it's arrived at the other Culver City post office. I tried to avoid this place because of all the horrendous reviews I saw on here, but it was directly on my route, so I thought I'd give the Culver Blvd. Post Office a go. Maybe it was a fluke day or something, but I found my experience to be perfectly awesome. All three of the employees I encountered were personable and helpful (including the guy with the dreadlocks), and considering I arrived 10 minutes before closing (and it's a week before Christmas), the line was reasonable and moved fairly quickly. Maybe I caught everyone in a good mood, or maybe it's true that most people only write reviews when there's something to complain about, and that's why so many are skewed to the negative. read more
