Being good at your job is one thing, but having decent (not even amazing) customer service I guess is hard to come by. When I walked into the shop, the owner was arguing with one of his customers who it sounded like, lost a UPS package. Both sounded very frustrated with the situation, and it ended with him kicking her out of the shop. (RED FLAGS) During all of this, I was looking for moving boxes and taking pictures of sizes to send to my friend who also needed some boxes. After his argument and kicking the woman out of the shop, he proceeds to sarcastically ask if he can help me mentioning how it's weird that I was just taking pictures of boxes and walks away to the back of his shop. His inability to collect himself after his (very vocal) argument with another guest was reflected into our interaction and it was ridiculous to say the least. Maybe apologize to your guests for displaying a moment of lapse in judgement and ask how you can assist me rather than judge my character. Look, customer service is never easy but that comes with the territory of being a business owner. Not everyone is going to be your best customer, but the moment you start getting jaded by a few and begin redirecting your frustrations to first time customers is when things will probably go south. Terrible terrible terrible. I brought in 12 limited edition art prints which needed to be shipped to 12 different people. I specifically asked if we should roll them or ship flat. They said to ship flat. They expressed total confidence in their ability to handle these. I left in their "capable hands" and the result has been awful. Each print has a value of $150 and at this point, we've had almost half receive complaints with how they were packaged. Only 50 of these prints exist in the world and to have to replace each one that was damaged by Pico Shipping costs me 1000% more than the cost of their shoddy work. What's infuriating is that they could just as easily rolled it. OR they could have used a thicker cardboard. I would not trust them. There's clearly something wrong with these people. On the other hand, we have to ship an original that has a value of $5,000 and assumed we were going to use them for it. So knowing these folks are incompetent probably saves me from a really really awful outcome had I given them this one too. Avoid. Avoid. There's plenty of others on Pico to use besides them. read more

But this week he took it to a whole new level. We are all going through hell and back these past couple of months. Not one sole on this earth has not been affected by the pandemic and aftermath. I went to Pico Shipping to notarize a document. Bijan has it all setup perfectly to be as contact-less as possible. And he took care of it very quickly. That is appreciated, though he always makes the experience effortless. What is above and beyond, and only comes from being a genuinely caring person is when I told him that my mother, who is 78 and very low immune system, can't leave the house due to Covid19, he took it upon himself to offer to go see my mother at her house!! Now you might say there are mobile notaries and this is what they do, and you would be right. Except that he is not, and does not offer mobile notary. He would not even charge an extra penny. Who does that these days??? He was there the very next day with his books and stamps and kept a good distance from my mother, leaving the books for her to sign and fingerprint, and left as soon as humanly possible to give her as much comfort as possible. Really? Com'on. No expectation, no compensation, just a human being with a kind sole and caring heart. I can't thank you enough Bijan. God Bless you and your family.
