I paid for two-day priority shipping to have a package delivered to my mom on Mother's Day; however, it was delivered to the wrong address and was returned to Postal Pal. Even though it was finally delivered to my mom, I didn't pay $30 for delayed delivery especially for Mother's Day, so obviously I want my money back. I called USPS and waited for an hour for a service rep, only to be told that I need to submit a refund claim online. After I submitted the claim, I received an email, stating that my request was denied. So, I called customer service again and explained what happened. Higher management then reached Postal Pal, and the Postal Pal workers were just not having it. So, as you can imagine, I was close to giving up. But I went to this post office hoping that it might work this time, and I'm so glad that the guy at front cared enough to help me out. I gave her three slips for mail I expected, and she returned with just two items and said that the third may have been a mistake. Nope, it was just a package, and not a certified letter, so I had to send her back to look for a package. The lines are never terribly long, because this is not a popular postal office, but they only ever have one or two clerks on the counter, so three people ahead of you can be quite time consuming. Make sure that you are fully prepared for your business, or you will be sent to the back of the line. That is pretty representative of how things go at the post office. This is the WORST postal service I've ever encountered. They sometimes don't deliver mail for 3…read moreconsecutive days, and I am constantly making a trip to the post office, standing in a LONG, slow line, and having to pick up my mail that is sitting there but hasn't been delivered. The reason/excuse I'm usually given is "the mail carrier is on vacation". During the winter, one of the men said to me, "well, we had a snowstorm", to which I replied: "I'm well aware that we had a snowstorm". However, this was DAYS later, and mail had not been delivered. I no longer drop off my mail at this Coolidge Corner location or at any mailbox in Brookline for that matter, since I don't trust them. I don't know what they do with the mail, but I've received "late notices" of bill payments that I've mailed ON TIME, as well as mail not reaching its LOCAL destination for 3-4 weeks, and one payment not reaching the destination at all. I actually drive to another city to drop off my mail. This location is understaffed, and the men who work there (I haven't encountered any women) take their sweet time. Something needs to be done. Postal prices increase consistently, and the service is disgusting.

I am stuck coming to this post office location often because my work takes me into the Longwood Medical Area. There is ALWAYS a lineup because of 3 reasons: 1) They don't open when they say they will. The window says they open at 8:30AM, but whoever actually opens the post office operates on vacation time. They roll in whenever they roll in, which I have seen to be as late at 8:45AM. 2) They are the laziest employees in history. Seriously. Sylvester takes 5 minutes to type in one address. Branden is too busy watching YouTube videos on his phone. Lady is too busy eating her lunch at the register to look up and see the lineup forming. 3) They take extended breaks. I have been in line for 30 minutes (no exaggeration) and someone leaves their register when I arrive to "take a bathroom break" and doesn't come back for a half hour. This USPS location is the epitome of "government job security." No one cares about customer service, and you annoy them when you ask them to do anything. Avoid this location if you can, and go somewhere where the staff don't hate you.
