This location has been here forever and is good alternate to making the trek over to the main po on the other end of town. I never thought I'd give the Post Office anything more than a "meh" but this location has been much more than expected every time I've visited. The employees have been consistently friendly and I've been able to get in and out quickly. It doesn't have the automatic postal machine that some of the newer locations do, but for a quick trip, where you avoid the crowds and lines, this spot works well.

If you need a passport, I do not recommend booking your appointment at the postal service. They…read moremust be short-staffed or spread thin; because my appointment was cancelled on the day of due to the passport window only being open til 4. My appointment was at 4:30, & he said if I could make it there early, I could still be seen. But actually, I would have to be before 3:45 when he starts closing. But actually, would have to be before 3:30 so he would have enough time for my 15-minute appointment. Like...okay. He also then directed me to take my appointment to the government center; since they take walk-ins. Well, thank god I called them before trying to walk-in because no, in fact, they do not take walk-ins. Regardless of any of that; as it may be out of his control & more due to leadership etc...the fact I booked my appointment two weeks ago & just got a call this afternoon after planning my day around it, is frustrating in itself. Best to just go with the government center from the jump, I wish I had!

I don't make a habit of reviewing post offices, but the post office in Zumbro Falls was such an…read moreamazing, delightful surprise. You walk into this post office and immediately see, even from the outside, how decorated it is, how excited it is to be a post office and serve the community. I just had to take photos - look at how neat this place is! You walk in to see this big WELCOME banner, and because it's spring, everything right now is decorated with a tropical theme, or to honor Memorial Day. Tiki decorations, a "Summer Time" banner, envelopes with hearts, happiness everywhere. The US Stamps edition of the Monopoly board and a book about mail carriers laying open on display. Big friendly signs and information on easy display for the community. I commented on this to the person working, and she informed me that it was all her doing. She told me her name was Savannah, and that she decorated the place anew every couple months to change with the seasons and what was going on in the world. She showed me a bench that she's been working on covering with reclaimed old stamps. She even had a shiny, fun USPS shirt on that she said she made herself! As I was there, another person came in and I saw Savannah help her unload her boxes. It is so clear that Savannah loves her job, loves the post office, loves the community, and puts immense effort into making a little part of the world better for everyone. If the world were fair I think Savannah would be running the whole federal postal system, can you imagine how nice society would be if everyone had the same amount of care and passion for what they do? I don't know what Savannah makes but whatever it is, it's not enough, she needs a raise. The Zumbro Falls post office is the nicest post office I've ever visited and undoubtedly the best post office in Minnesota. What a lucky community to have this facility here!

This is a fantastic post office and Savannah is wonderful. It is clean and decorated for the…read moreseasons. Savannah is always cheerful and has been so helpful with my EBay shippings. I have 4 different post offices within 20 miles of my home and I will always choose the Zumbro Falls office.
