As always, one clerk behind the window while dozen people are waiting in line...

I know most likely my review will go unread and uncared for by the people that use taxpayers money to keep this government agency run smoothly and always staffed. Quite the opposite is always true: one slow clerk behind the window while dozens of not more people are waiting in line. All I needed was stamps but since they removed those vending machines where I could have bought stamps from I had to wait in line, unnecessarily waist my time! As always the priority is to pay CEOs multi-million dollar salary. The little people as always have to suffer.

I wonder how this organization is still in business. This particular branch ALWAYS HAS A LINE. It's never packed, just 10 to 15 people on the line but always 1 or 2 windows open out of 5 and workers barely move, since i walked in 25 minutes ago the lineonly moved by 4 people. Same experience every single time, never failed at this branch. I wish zero stars was an option.

why they/ve been pushed my staff between 8027 braodway and 5901 junction blvd.? i been both place at same day and both are keep doing this i've bben running around like this for what? such shamed service update nothing since may 4th

    Only one window open

Terrible! Only one window open. 20 people online. It is December the busiest month of the year. What a disgrace!

Hate this post office, staff leaving at 6:30pm when they close at 7pm and with full line no shame.....

There are clearly employees at the counter who have no idea what they're doing. I've lived in Forest Hills for 25 years. I'm usually a very patient person and can tolerate a lot. But what happened today was completely unacceptable. Yes, I know lines at the post office can be long and require patience. But this crossed every line. Today, Tuesday, July 14th, a little after 10 a.m., I joined the line. By the time the woman three people ahead of me reached the counter, I had already been waiting over 30 minutes. What I saw at Window 4 was shocking. The customer was trying to point out a mistake the clerk had made, but the same interaction repeated more than 10 times. The entire line was stunned. People started loudly booing -- something I've rarely seen. Even I, known for my patience, got seriously irritated for the first time in my life. It was beyond ridiculous. It was downright inhumane. The clerk simply couldn't understand what the customer was saying, no matter how many times it was repeated. Any other employee could have handled it in 30 seconds. After being forced to wait over 35 minutes, it was finally my turn -- only for the same clerk at Window 4 to suddenly announce, "I'm going on break," point toward the other line, grab her coffee, and walk away. Excuse me? A break? You haven't actually done any real work yet -- you've just spent the entire time making mistakes! Was that supposed to be breakfast? The Forest Hills USPS office is, without a doubt, the slowest and most incompetent post office in the world.

There was no greeting, and she was on her phone chatting with a friend while helping me. She scanned my first two packages and then ran out of label paper. Without saying anything, she left her station. When she returned, it took another 10 minutes for her to put paper into the machine. Since those were the only packages I had, I simply let her know that was all and that I just needed the receipt. She then yelled back at me, saying, "You see what I'm doing, right? You need to hold on." While still being on her phone. I was very caught off guard because I was only informing her that I didn't have any additional packages for her to scan. I felt extremely disrespected by the way I was spoken to. No customer deserves to be treated with that level of rudeness. I let this lady know that I didn't need her attitude and she proceeds to tell me I'm giving her a attitude first, the gaslight is real with this postal worker Unfortunately, experiences like this explain why this post office location receives so many negative reviews. Management need to retrain current ghetto employees professionalism ( only certain ones of a particular race always gives me a hard time ) I think they are the ones that people wrote all the negative reviews on and this affects the location as a whole. rehire new employees. Like who allows workers to be on the phone while at the counter. This location is an embarrassment.

The line to pick up packages can be very chaotic with no system whatsoever in place. It's come to the point where I would get Amazon packages sent to the locker at the 711 instead of to my address and risking it being sent through the post office and then having to go pick it up. One thing that is really not the post office fault is that there are a lot of people sending packages overseas so it's a bit more time consuming to process. I wish they would have express counter for package drop offs like UPS and Fedex has. I'm sure there are a lot of people who just want to drop off a prepaid package and end up in line as the people who need more service.

Another update in regards to my stolen package- Long story…read moreshort, I had a package earlier this year that was supposedly "misdelivered" by my local USPS driver. Our building's security footage proves he was never around at the time of the incident, nor was any package ever left. I was also able to check with all of our neighbors and they didn't receive it either. So one way or another, this driver falsified a gps scan. Even before this incident, he has had a bad reputation of repeatedly losing our building's key (conveniently right around the same time mail goes "missing") and destroying our packages. Management here has been told about these issues time and time again. They don't give a damn. All that to say, I just received an email from USPS claiming they're now closing my missing package request. This happened earlier this year and now all of a sudden, they're refusing to even keep that open? I'm pissed. First they cover up this guys blatant felony, lie about sending a carrier to pick up this supposedly 'misdelivered' package and now I'm getting punished for exposing this? I can't stand this post office or anything it represents. I'm warning you, don't trust them. There's a real criminal side to this place and they are not being held accountable.
