The reviews are accurate. This location is horrid. The clerks obviously don't want to be there. I come in often to pick up mail that they've failed to deliver. Actually, I get updates from USPS on the daily about what's coming to my address. Usually, the shipment is on track until it reaches this particular post office. Then, my package disappears. No notice, no email. They're supposed to leave that paper behind that says "sorry we missed you!" They don't bother, I'm usually home during delivery times and they don't even buzz for me to let them in if they don't have have keys. My passport was shipped via 2 Day Express but they didn't bother to deliver it, the office is just down the street from me. I couldn't pick it up until Monday morning because they were closed Saturday night (when delivery stated it should have been here by 6pm Saturday). DOGE needs to audit the U.S. Post Office. This location is horrible. Should be shut down. 1 teller opened with over 10 people waiting on line. Teller has two speeds Slow and StDimly lit. Any other company would be out of business. read more

This place is a necessary evil... I even got locked inside once and had to wait for someone to come and let me out. I'm not sure why they locked the doors with customers STILL inside when it's still 30 minutes away from closing time, and customers couldn't get out. It was very frustrating since I still had work and had run to the post office to ship something during down time but was anxious to get back to work. Customer service is horrendous as well. Getting packages delivered is a total nightmare. Most of the time, they don't even bother to ring your doorbell when they are delivering a package. They claim you weren't home, even if I was home all day and never heard a knock on my door or a doorbell ring. At the actual location, the only plus is recently they started a drop-off mail window so if you have pre-stamped packages, you can drop them off instead of waiting in line. read more

After reading all the poor reviews about this post office, I would have to agree with the horrendous service at this location. After speaking with a representative from Amazon (which they were very apologetic about the situation) they informed me that the package was attempted, but not delivered due to not fitting in the mailbox. I am baffled because there was only one other x-large box in the mailbox area (not in the 3"x5" apt mailbox) and my mailbox was empty with no notice of "attempted" delivery. FedEx and UPS alway delivers my packages, including a Queen size mattress, to my apartment door. After re-inputing all my Information for my package to be redelivered the next day, USPS gives me this shit and scheduled it to be redelivered "Expected" 3 days from now. Get your shit together USPS. I hope Amazon would stop using USPS as a delivery service. Please stick with FedEx or UPS. The only thing USPS is good for is delivering letter mail, yet sometimes they screw that up as well. read more

Read the comments. Local office takes the lazy way out and won't deliver the package. Instead, they just push a button saying they can't access the delivery location. There is no proof via cameras or witness showing they attempted to contact or deliver the package. Other vendors (FedEx and UPS) deliver with no problem. They even ring my buzzer to let me know they are at the front. I made a complaint to USPS multiple times in the past and miraculously, the delivery person always gains access to my building the next day. read more

Their suboptimal service kept me away from this site for quite some time, despte other USPS around the area were no better. At least, there are one or two clerks who have been courteous and helpful that I recognize over the course of time. Still, how unlucky did I get to have sent the first package in a while from this site, gone missing after the site's processing? I am already weary because this should not happen but it does routinely happen here and it really was my fault to have given them another chance? Does the backroom in this site have a kind of huge black hole and were lots of items sucked into it just as most reviewers here testify? With regards to inquirying on such mishaps, USPS just gives customers a cold shoulder, sometimes even getting combative, saying they have no clue until it would turn up on its own or buy additional tracking and insurance. A nightmare. The only takeaway from my experiences here is to avoid. Yet the saddeing thing is, again, other locations are no better. So this is somewhat fundamental defect throughout their system, which they should try harder to correct and improve. Also, when it comes to their delivery practice, I am coming to understand their standard being 'just barely deliver only if they could/feel like/make believe. More than a few occasions they were returned to the senders when I knew no delivery attempts were actually made. So what to do with this station's performance? My experience at this post office was much different than others, it seems. There was a bit of a wait for my transaction to fully process but that was only because the teller has to manually type in everything written on my customs form (I arrived there early in the morning, was first in line, two tellers open). He was extremely pleasant, engaged in small-talk with me while typing out everything on his computer, and I surprisingly remarked near the end of my transaction (probably because I'd made many assumptions since I'd read the reviews below before visiting, and was expecting much worse) how nice he was...he responded with how it's important for him to make other people's day as good as he can, and wished me well on the rest of my day. I would absolutely return to this post office, but alas I'm rarely in this area since there are 2 other offices closer to my home...and I'd only come to this one because of my planned trip to Queens Center Mall. read more

International Packages never gets delivered The lady who handles the International packages (EMS) needs to lose her job. She is absolutely the laziest person ever. I live in a co-op building and every time I would be expecting an International package to be delivered the lady would leave a pickup slip in the mailbox stating that nobody was home to sign for package delivery when it's completely not true. This happens every-time to all my international express packages requiring signature confirmation without fail. The problem is that some of these packages can be time sensitive and I would have to wait another 2 days before the package is available for pickup at the Rego Park post office. I have gone to this post office to complain about this issue and the individual but nothing has ever been done to alleviate the problem. It has gotten to the point where I have to send these types of packages to my work address in the city since I know she will not bother to come up and deliver them to my apartment. read more

Yelp really should allow a zero rating. Don't plan on getting anything delivered that's even remotely the size of a standard lobby mailbox, because if the mail carrier for Park City 3&4 thinks they can crush your larger sized envelope or package into the box, they'll certainly shove it in, bending and crushing where they can, and plan on using all your strength ripping that package out of your mailbox, certainly destroying your precious item. If I could give this zero stars I would. Multiple times, including today, the USPS does not attempt delivery at all. I have been waiting all day and then I get a tracking notification that there was no authorized recipient. Nobody rang a bell. Nobody knocked. The notice on the door says 9am. The tracking notification says 1pm. And the tracking was not updated until 5pm. The USPS is filled with lazy liars that don't deserve employment. Now I need to go in on my Saturday before New Years Eve and yell at them in person because of their dishonesty and laziness. This has happened multiple times at this location and it is tiresome and pure laziness. I hope you are all fired. read more

I've used this post office for a couple times, the staff is actually rather pleasant for the most part. At least they said "Hi" and " Have a good one" to the customer. read more

Once again, William has proven to be one of the kindest, wise and elegant workers the United States Postal Service has. I recall when Rod was also at Rego Park and now William has gracefully assumed the leadership role. Mr. William is patient with novices, seniors, boisterous teenagers and demanding Rego Park citizens who seem to think the world only revoles around them and their self-proclaimed problems. I have lived in neighborhoods in NY and NJ and this place is by far the worst post office I have had dealings with. They consistently do not deliver packages, they either lie outright and leave a slip that they attempted delivery when I have been home all day or don't leave a slip at all and unless you check the tracking you would never know a delivery was attempted. They stuff packages in your mailbox to the point where twice I had to pry the boxes open inside the mailbox, remove the contents and then tear up the box so it could be removed from my box. All in efforts, which I am guessing, to avoid having to go upstairs and deliver. I MIGHT be able to understand if I lived in a walkup but we have an elevator so the only explanation is laziness. If you request a redelivery it is luck of the draw whether you actually get your re-delivery. Inevitably you trudge down to their location on a weekend to pick up your package which should have been redelivered several times during the prior week only to get blank expressions when you express your dissatisfaction with that service. There's always an excuse, always some reason why they cannot do the simple job of delivering my items. I have made specific requests to several vendors to not use the PO as a delivery option. I would rather pay extra or wait longer than deal with the subpar, awful service of this facility. read more

I haven't came to this Post Office in Rego Park in over 10 years since I lived in Elmhurst. Back in the day, this post office was a nightmare to deal with. Typical long slow lines but on this day and this trip, no line whatsoever on a regular business day. I was surprised, I was in there for roughly 5 minutes and still, not a single person walked in behind me which was a first. Corporate needs to know how dumb and unprofessional the Manager and staff are. They should know that the customers are the reason why they even have a job. This is the worst post office ever. I hate living in its district. They say they tried to deliver a package and you were home all day...they never did. Then you never get a pink slip and only by going to the computer do you know it is at the post office. Then you go there and they take 15 minutes to find it!! This happens all the time. I have had packages delivered to the wrong address when labeled correctly, never to be seen again. My wonderful mail carrier of many years is retiring, so the mail in our building will be a disaster. It's unusual for me to leave a horrible reviews, as I truly believe if you can't say something positive don't say anything at all. However, I have to agree that Rego Park Post Office is among the worst. I have seen the mail carrier's come and go...there's always someone else's mail in my mailbox and although my neighbors and I have access to a return mail wall mount; the mail remains there. The mail person will not take it back. I recently was told I had to go to the post office to receive a package because a signature is needed, there was nothing left in my mailbox concerning an initial attempt. The news had to come from the sender. I have not left my home for over a month and would have been there to sign for the package. Post Office refuses to redeliver. In view of the current pandemic one would think It's the smartest move. No, not Rego Park postal service. I instead, received a call saying "signature is needed we will not be redelivering, pick up your package at the post office. Like most branches of the USPS, absolutely terrible. There are never enough tellers, and the ones they have are incredibly slow. If the carrier doesn't feel like delivering your packages, they won't. Don't expect them to leave a notice either, or perhaps I should say don't expect them to leave a notice while it's still relevant; I find them in my mailbox a day or two after I've gone to pick up a package personally. I always track my packages online so I know when they should be coming. The other day I ended up with an "Unable to Deliver/No Secure Location" notice. I was home at the time; nobody rang my intercom or came to my door. The carrier just did not even bother. So I went to the post office to see if anything could be done, the teller I got immediately looked down his nose at me and went "And how do you KNOW it was supposed to be delivered already?" Um...online tracking. A service the USPS offers and that you seemed to be unaware of. From there he tried to shoo me off my telling me it was probably in the mailbox; if it was, tracking would have said "Delivered, Left In/At Mailbox". Then he asked for the notice, I told him I didn't have one because there wasn't one left. That apparently warranted suspicion, because now he made me jump through all sorts of hoops, including fetching the tracking number for him (When I returned with it, he said "Oh, so you got the number", in a tone that implied he thought I wouldn't have it). In the end, there was nothing to be done except wait for the next day, but he sure as hell made sure to waste plenty of my time. The next day I came back for my package and get the same rude, condescending teller. Immediately he tries to shoo me off again by bringing up the notice. I told him that I was certain it would be there for pickup now and to please go look for it. He sighs and tells me he'll go check if anything's there. This takes him about fifteen minutes until he finally comes out with my package and begrudgingly gives it to me. The notice conveniently appeared in my mailbox today. read more
