The office staff is amazing. They always help me with any issue I have! The only problem I have is who ever delivers our mail will not deliver my certified mail. This person will just drive off and not even attempt to get my signature. This has happened multiple times and it's extremely frustrating. I've watched her drive off and mark my mail as "no access to delivery location" or " no authorized recipient available " when they don't even get out to knock or ring my doorbell. read more

I had a 3' x 1' x 2' box that they repeatedly told me couldn't be delivered because it wouldn't fit in the delivery drivers car. I had to take 3 hours off of work to go pick it up. When I went to go pick it up they said if we delivered this package then we would only be able to fit like 7 other packages. They told me it was undeliverable. read more

Worst post office ever. I am disabled from a car accident recently, I don't have a car, I just started an at home work job which I had to order supplies for, being shipped USPS. I have a driveway that is about fifteen feet. On camera I watched the mail man put mail in my mailbox hold my package, and then take it with him on the truck back to the office. Then my amazon package was marked "Customer Request" left at facility. Amazon just says its running late. I had to watch my mail man, NOT deliver my package to investigate where the f*** my package went. I have no one in a 50 mile radius to give me a ride. I have to find someone available during the post office hours, pay this person for their gas and time to come to Gold Bar and back to their home, and again, disabled, I can't walk. So now I have to wait in line with my walker in tremendous pain. This driver should be fired. They are paid good money to deliver mail. In Florida my mail man brought packages that didn't fit into the mail box to my door all the time. What do they do with M or L flat rates? Do they just keep them all at their facility?? What ever driver that does the route off HWY2 Picklefarm Rd, Mountain View Pl, is a lazy piece of s***. This isn't the first time they have done this either. They did it with a cell phone three times in a row. It took three times for me to figure out they just didn't want to leave it at the door. I kept telling the cell phone carrier they must have mailed it to the wrong place. NOPE my mail man is just lazy. I don't even have a notice in my mailbox that tells me I have a package waiting at the Post Office. Im reporting this to Amazon that whoever does my specific route is a theif. Stole my package. So they need to seek this post office and that employee out for reimbursement. Because I ordered my item and paid shipping, my drive way is normal, and I never have a problem getting items from Amazon delivery or anyone else, I should not have to do extra work to find out why my items aren't at my door when Amazon told me they would be there at that specific time. According to Amazon, USPS is running late. Nope, USPS is lying and said I requested to have my package held at the office. Why the hell would I do that? It's damn near impossible for me to get anyone to help me go anywhere!! Especially on post office hours!!! I have had to miss 4 days of work trying to get this equipment. Food off my table. I always smell urine, cigarette smoke, or weed when I walk in. The staff is always slow, very rarely are they friendly, never has a package been delivered on time. Also, when I go to pick up the package it's "out for delivery again" but when I get home it's not there and never arrives. I have actually gotten a notice saying I was home to receive a package while I was at home all day. They also refuse to deliver if there is any bit of snow on our road. When I lived in a small town I'm Texas I new my postman's name and he even brought treats for people's pets. Perhaps if you kept your garbage cans from either obstructing your mailbox or the path to your mailbox you, wouldn't being having your little problem. From the usps.com site: "Customers must place mailboxes on motorized city, rural, and contract delivery service routes so a carrier can safely and conveniently serve them without leaving his or her vehicle." and, "Customers must remove obstructions, including vehicles, trash cans, and snow, that impede safe and efficient delivery." I give only three stars because they are all very nice. BUT, and I don't know if it's directly their fault but I've had issues mailing things more in the last few months I've lived here than my entire life using a post office. Sometimes my stuff gets to its destination in a couple days, sometimes two weeks, and sometimes it just simply disappears. I sent an important piece of paper to my husband in CA who is staying at my moms house and used over night shipping which cost $19.99. I did this on a Saturday and knew it wouldn't get there until Monday hence there is no mail on Sunday. Guaranteed by Monday, by 3pm. It's Wednesday and still no idea where it is after it was dispatched from Seattle. That might be Seattles fault but seriously just adds icing to the crap cake. Is there some other near by Post Office?? Geez. 3 days later: Okay, an update and a more clear headed review. Haha Though I'm still not fond of this Post Office, I do believe it wasn't their fault the overnight got lost. I mean obviously because it made it to Seattle no prob. Pretty decent post office. Located near down town Gig Harbor, it's easy to find and easy to use. They have a convenient drive up mail drop box in the parking lot. Their store has usual business hours (9-5:30 M-F) and a few Saturday hours (10:30-2:30) for when you just have to go to the post office proper. The staff have always been very friendly and willing to help. They have a small stand with fancy shipping supplies (in store). The portion of the post office that is unmanned is nice for shipping small packages. They have the PO Boxes and a self help kiosk, which is what we use 95% of the time we're there. Two counters for fixing the packages, addressing, etc (or cleaning your purse, or other annoying habit that takes the entire counter). read more

Twice now, within 3 years I have had issues with change of addresses with this post office. They don't seem to understand how to forward mail effectively. In addition, I just ordered something off of eBay which was shipped USPS priority mail and tracking says supposedly it was attempted to be delivered on the 2nd but nobody was available to receive the package and a note was left. That's b.s. because I was home all day: nobody ever came to the door and no note was left. Address is correct - they just never attempted delivery. I am giving two stars because the people that work here are pleasant and upbeat for the most part. Other than that, the post office is completely useless. All of the mailboxes on site are overflowing with mail. I have tried to put things in the box before and they just fall right out. I dont ever have confidence that my mail is safe when putting them in their mailboxes. In addition to that, they dont usually have stamps on hand. I guess that would be too much to ask since it is the POST OFFICE! This was not a one time occurance either. Almost every time I go there, I ask for stamps just to see if they have any in. The only ones they usually have are for specific holidays that have usually already passed.... Go anywhere else unless you absolutely have to come here. read more

I love seeing that my package is out for delivery as of 8:30 in the morning only to wait all day and have no mail show up. Then when I check my tracking number it say "could not be delivered due to business being closed" business? This is being shipped to my house. And I was home ALL day waiting for the delivery. Now the post office is closed and it's Saturday so I have to wait until Monday and hope that I actually get my mail. read more

Update: Nothing has improved at this Post Office. Today I'm dealing with a package that they somehow managed to lose in their building. It was tracked and sorted there, out for delivery, and disappeared. Vanished. Trying to get help is impossible. Still they do not answer the phone, or they let it ring for 6 minutes, then put it on hold without saying a word, where you sit for another 15 minutes. Or like today, they keep their answering machine on after they've opened, so that you can't reach them, or leave a message. This place is clearly understaffed. GH has long outgrown this tiny place, with lines out the door all the time,and a handful of harried and frustrated staff. I don't understand this. There are so many other locations around that are well-run, and pleasant to work with. I suppose I can't fault the staff too much, as they're obviously frustrated with the situation, as well. But they have one job to do, and it should be done right and courteously, regardless of their resources. read more

I hate writing bad reviews but by far the worst experience with a post office we have had. If I could give zero stars I would. Our PO BOX was messed up from the beginning. To this day we receive others mail in our box and we know mail of ours has been lost or misplaced. Recently, we went to renew our Po box and they shut us off and returned our mail to sender. We had an annual contract which renewed. You'd think out of common respect / courtesy they would call or hold our mail and give us a day to pay, didn't happen. Shut us off that day. Stay away from dealing with this post office if at all possible. Slow and inefficient. Always busy, little staff and can take up to 45 minutes to get a piece of mail out. We're moving everything to our new physical address in the harbor and away from this post office as quickly as they shut our box down. Hope you guys figure it out! read more

As I could see in other reviews this Post Office has chronic issues . I have moved in Sultan last year and I had the worst experience with the mail delivery . Looks like this Post Office funcions on their own rules and not the USPS . For more than two months after I filled out a Change of Adress form as I always did moving across the country I ended with very important pieces of mail returned to sender because someone in this Post Office stamped on the envelopes " Undeliverable . Missing Mail Receptacle " . My utylites were Shot down for not payment , the Kirkland Hospital placed me in Collection for unpaid bills , I got arrested for not reporting to court , I had to pay penalties to State for late taxes . Only because in this area the mail delivery is discretionary . The same Mail Carrier in the meantime stuffed my Mail Receptacle with mail with other names than mine . Just two days ago the Mail Carrier placed in my box envelopes belonging to half the people on the street . And left me a note to call Gold Bar Office with my concerns . Is this a family bussines ? They don't pay a shit to citizens . For few months I keep calling USPS and never got an apology or a resolution . Shame on those who keep these people in that job . read more

This is the most frustrating post office I have ever used. I have had a post office box at this location for the past 9 years and I use this location for all my mailing needs. The lines can be long and the employees always have trouble finding my packages. Numerous times I have to return with my tracking number and after about 10-15 minutes later the package is finally found. Yesterday I found that my post office box had been accidently closed, our renewal date is the end of May and it's the end of April. We live off of a busy street so my husband doesn't want to put up a mail box, but after today we'll have a house mail box to minimize trips to this post office. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, except for one man who can be rude and condescending. read more

OMG, it is 4pm on a Monday(10/13) and no mail yet, 90% of the time it is delivered before 11am on the weekdays, but I just saw the mailman in his truck drive within 50 feet of my house and do an illegal U turn in the road......HEY, where is my mail? So, I ran in to call the Post Office ONLY to get a recording stating it was after hours and to call in between 9:00 and 5:30. OMG, really? BY FAR the worst Post Office EVER!! Last month on a Saturday I had my mail delivered late and it was incorrect, it belonged one street over, so I bundled up and marched it right out to the box, THEN the driver came back again, and delivered more mail(she did not pick up the already misdelivered) and guess what? it too was to the incorrect address. So, I called the PO, someone answered...omg. Her reply to my surprise that the phone was answered was.....Oh, I thought it was a driver. Really that is just what I want to talk about, not one but two deliveries of mail, both incorrect today, not to mention she ignored the bundle I was trying to return cuz she put the new incorrect mail on top of it!! Gig Harbor Post Office's brilliant response...................the other driver leaves bad directions. why should I be surprised that a mail truck is doing an illegal U turn with my undelivered(hopefully) mail on it?
