You might think it would be crowded and hard to use this little post office in the middle of downtown Golden, but that has not been my experience. I mentioned in a previous review that I do not go to post offices at all frequently, but in the two or three times I have been to this little gem this year, I was able to park right outside or around the corner, and get in and out to complete my errands efficiently. My most recent experience involved finding stamps to mail my son's wedding invitations. I explained my task to the person behind the counter. She weighed my invitation and pointed me to a 2 cent stamp with a pretty bouquet of flowers, surely the right stamp for my stash of wedding invitations. However, there weren't enough of that stamp for all my envelopes, so I would have to choose a second stamp, as well. While I was looking at the options, trying to decide what to do, she suddenly ran to the back and came out with a brand new stamp that had only just come out a few days prior (early March, 2024). This also was a lovely stamp; and there were lots and lots of them! I really appreciate her creativity and willingness to go above and beyond for me. Since that time, I've stopped by a few times to mail some returns, or whatever, and this person still remembers me! This establishment has the feel of a small local business where everyone is neighborly and helpful. I love that. read more

I would rather hand deliver my parcel to Arizona than to step foot in this location again. The employee (Kristan) working the counter confused the poor lady in front of me with poor explanations of her options, refused to give me a small piece of tape for my package, and would not use one of those plastic prepaid label stickers on my package. She spoke far too quickly and softly to be understood, especially with a mask on. The building is dark, cramped, and disgustingly dirty. I will be taking my business to any other post office than this one from now on, while encouraging everyone I meet to avoid it like the plague. read more

For their first review, I'm going 5 star status! This post office is adorable. Golden's first post office in fact! How cool is that?! Also, I've never had to wait in line even when I come during lunch or after work. That blows my mind! Where I come from, lines are mandatory. Not just lines, but long lines. Post office. Lines. At this post office the workers have always been very friendly and patient too (I'm that absent minded person that's always poorly juggling millions of things and/or dropping things left and right). I'm still getting use to the Colorado friendliness in general...My only complaint would be the hours, somehow I've managed to be foiled by their hours so many times! But that's a me thing, you'd think I'd remember after walking up to their closed doors more than I can count.. Saturdays.. they're closed at 1pm. Or is it 2pm? read more

Wow, an employee who works there is incredibly rude. I've repeatedly had excellent experiences at both UPS and FedEx, and only ended up at USPS because an employee at another place welcomed me to shop around for a better rate on international shipping. Yes, for USPS, the price ranged from being 10% - 50% (depending on speed) the cost of the other two places, but I was happy to walk out and pay double to not have to listen to that woman's attitude and constant useless scolding like I was a 2 year old. FedEx and UPS always have great customer service, independent of who is working at the desk! Go there. It's definitely worth paying more. read more

Feels weird to write a review of a Post Office but I avoid this place at all costs so I thought I owed everyone a waning. The building is adorable, I love how historic it is and I don't want it to ever be torn down. My complaint has to do with the staff and the lack of self service kiosks. I've only been in a few times but the staff always acted like I was an inconvenience. It is so much easier to go to another post office with a self service kiosk for mailing packages. read more

Cute building, and I've never met the staff- but the unlocked area has room for a sorely needed package drop box and self-post machine. At least one. Until then, a customer is at the mercy of a line and it's completely useless during closed hours. read more

If you want to be treated like a major inconvenience then come here! I walked in to get a PO box and got a *sigh* from the lady as I dragged her away from her loud conversation behind the counter. She couldn't give me a PO box because I am from out of state and just moved here which is fine but she talked to me like I was so beneath her and not worth her time. She directed me to the UPS store down the street and I'm so glad she did, the lady there was so sweet and helpful, exhibiting the kind of customer service that USPS slowly sorely lacks. No wonder snail mail is becoming extinct. read more

This post office is closest to my home but I usually go to the Johnson Street PO because that is where they hold mail (they also run a curtious and efficient ship). Recently I have dropped off prepaid packages at this location and purchased stamps. I concur with the reviews that mention certain employees seemingly bothered by customer interaction. Maybe the word is catching....lines are pretty short in the afternoons. read more

Absolutely abhorrent customer service skills and completely ineffective at doing what they are designed to do: deliver mail. I have dealt with a very long series of errors in a row that were all directly their fault, including the fact that every package I ordered, including important and time sensitive packages, were all delivered to the wrong address. Getting someone on the phone was difficult, and the woman who answered was absolutely rude and unhelpful. Now I still have a package that I cannot locate that they refuse to do anything about because their system claims it was delivered. I am disappointed and frustrated. read more

Horrible delivery service! I had to hunt for my package that was delivered to a house a block away. All the neighborhood packages were delivered to one house where no one was home. Ideal for theives! I can't wait until the post office gets closed!! read more

This is a wonderful small town post office. Check out the Depression era mural. Classic. My experience has always been positive - staff are friendly and helpful. Even with long lines (lines DO happen) the staff whittles it down efficiently and smoothly. I love this place. Wish it opened earlier on weekends. read more

If I could give 0 stars or negative stars I would. They have now lost 3 tax return forms of mine and my roommates insurance appeal. If you want to make sure your packages never get to their destination and wish to have the worst customer service imaginable, pay this waste of space a visit. I have called 5 times so far about my issues and have yet to have anyone pick up the phone. This place should be turned into a museum since the employees are already pretending that it is one. read more
