I cannot remember the sweet women's name who took care of us on 02/19, but her name started with a P! I think it was Preti, or similar. anyways she was very kind, and even took my son's passport photo. she was patient with him, and allowed me to ensure he was safe. if you look at my other reviews you'll see my son was injured attempting to take his passport photo at the USPS in vernon hills. Well I recommend coming here to grayslake for all your passport needs! She also explained to me in detail what each charge was for and gave me a little envelope for my son and i's passport photo (extra). I would definitely return :) read more

Outgoing and incoming mail is constantly going missing. Also getting mail for completely different addresses frequently. Not sure what the issue is with this post office. Complaints don't seem to change anything either. read more

Grayslake location is maybe the worst in Lake County. And with USPS Ground Advantage shipments, you might die before it's ever actually delivered. Absolutely insulting service. Delivery guy claimed to try and deliver a signature-required package yesterday. Said nobody was home to sign for it. I was sitting in my living room at the time he claimed to make delivery at my door. If he had been at the door, my German Shepherd would have barked loud and clean. Silence. Used the USPS online page to get redelivery today, and email from USPS confirmed receipt of request and it would be delivered today. Package has contents worth $1800 in rare coins. So mail guy pulls up to my mailbox this morning, puts some pieces in it plus a different package that was itself 3 days late. At least I got that one. But not the package that was to be "redelivered" which is sitting at the post office. I'm sick and tired of government morons who can't or just won't do their jobs. This goes for the whole hierarchy of the USPS. Entire Postal Service should be shut down, given over to private shippers like Amazon, FedEx or whoever. Pony Express was faster than USPS Ground Advantage. That's actually truth! read more

Slowest & most stupid people in the world here! One person at the desk and 10 minutes with a guy that didn't know his post office box #... 3 people doing nothing. I waited for a half hour got to the front at 3:20 & they told me they stop doing passports at 3:00... insane! UPDATE: The picture the half wit lady at the post office took was not good enough for the application too dark & tilted slightly... what a moron. read more

This isn't my regular post office but now and again I'm passing by and this location is more convenient. There's plenty of parking, there's never been a line, the workers are friendly, and I've never had any issues. read more

Two stars; one for the woman at the counter who often assists us and one for the self-serve kiosk. Other than that, we've experienced more issues than any other town I've lived in. One package (a gift for my niece) went missing and never came up. Not sure if someone in our complex stole it or if the post office delivered it to the wrong address (they swore up and down they delivered it on a Sunday even though we were both home all day). We have them hold all of our packages at the post office now so we can pick them up ourselves. We also had a damaged package and submitted a request online. I received a letter stating that the package had to be inspected, so we went to the Post Office and the manager inspected the very clearly smashed box and told us there was nothing he could do. The shipper ended up covering all expenses and received a refund from their local Post Office. read more

Literally the ladies who work here are the only saving grace of those post office. They are all extremely kind and they try to move the line along as quick as they possibly can. But I swear sometimes I don't have a 45 minutes extra to stand in a line at the post office. I tried using the self-service machine in the lobby and it won't print tracking numbers if postage is already on the package. I'm here enough that I know how many stamps go on packages but need a tracking number in order To properly run of my Etsy and eBay businesses. They way understaff this post office and the poor ladies who work here are always rotating breaks when there are 10 people deep in line. Which makes everyone grow frustrated. I feel bad for the person who gets stuck at the window serving all the frustrated customers. I know that's not their fault and I do not hold it against them, but truly this place needs to have more hands on deck at least for the holiday season. Or a great solution would be to have a kiosk that actually works and will give you tracking numbers. It would be a great idea to have the tracking number stickers next to the machine in case it doesn't print you one, so you aren't waiting in line for 15+ minutes (in my case) just to get the barcode. All of the ladies here are so so so so nice and we have lovely conversation every time I go in here - thats is WHY I choose this post office. But it's not fair to the staff , and it's especially not fair to the customers to have a 20 person deep line and one person expected to move thru it quickly. 15 people were waiting in line with 2 postal clerks at the counter. When a third came out, one of the other ones left!! Poor customer service. I waited 18 minutes before being helped; other people behind me though waited longer. read more

I ship boxes 3-5 times a week through this post office. The staff is courteous and efficient. They even makes jokes despite the often impatient customers. read more

Our delivery girl is great in Saddlebrook but we have heard our mail delivery will be changing to a location our SENIOR CITIZENS will have to walk or drive. Worst post office ever. Only 1 person working the desk. At least 20 people in line. 3 others behind the desk not doing a damn thing. I was sorting the mail at work, and I would find things in the bin like lunches, hand warmers, folders on top of mail that wasn't even ours! There have been times where our mail was dropped off, but not picked up. I have even seen our route carrier come back an hour later to get it! It's really ridiculous. I have no idea who is running the show there but I would love to get hired and whip them into shape! read more

I understand the Post Master has decided that the SENIOR CITIZENS who live in Saddlebrook do not deserve to have their mail delivered to their home. Apparently he has decided they should either have to walk or drive to a centrally located depository in their area which supposedly would only be a 2+/- mile walk/drive for them to collect their mail. Apparently he does not understand that those who cannot walk long distances or those who no longer drive will be hard pressed to collect their mail. It is my understanding he is an inflexible person and he has been contacted with the concerns of those affected but does not seem to be interested in discussing the issues. He apparently is considering the same treatment for other areas in the area. Just be forewarned your area may be next. read more

I have had route mail delivery (street delivery) with this post office for years. Our route carrier is great pleasant, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Other route carriers we've had have been too & in one situation were total angels helping out with a delivery situation. However, the postal box service here is dismal at best (5 major screw ups ), slips in box for packages but no package @ counter gosh "nothing there but wait it has a tracking number" & "it was in the wrong place"; not getting magazines which were addressed correctly from 3 different publishers, 21 days to get 1st class letter from Milwaukee containing hundreds of $$ of tickets (though not tracked, tickets received "special handling" from venue which had record of mailing out), attitude of some counter people, supervisors is "it's everyone else's fault but ours" and they could care less what you think, what your problem is and are never wrong. I asked for a pamphlet on mailing rates and services. First it was we don't have one, then it was available online. Said I couldn't access online & guess what, a sheet of rates & services magically appears! The postmaster (i didn't know he was the post master) was handling a issue about a change of address and kept changing his story,first it's this/than that; I literally ask him his position to see about get a supervisor higher up. (Oh boy not good).) I have seen a serious decline in this post office in last 2 yrs (at least in counter and po box service). Why is there only 1 counter clerk during busy times & 20 people in line??? After 5 complaints about PO BOX in 2 mos it's getting worse. As of today were on to number 6 "mess up". Retribution because of my previous complaints I think. I still have HIGH REGARD for the route carriers I had through this post office because they have bern pleasant, helpful, try to help you with concerns; way better attitudes then some persons who work"inside" this post office. They need to replace the person managing this office and some other persons too. read more

Lousy service, have had overnight express letter take 5 days to Washington DC. Delivery often misdirected, and if you are not aware of the most economical expedited shipping services counter service people will not offer cheapest way. read more

There is a very good reason that this location is ranked as one of the worst Post Offices in the area. Quite simply, it's terrible. Excessive waits and poor customer service are well documented yet there seems to be little desire to improve the quality of service at this location. My business requires a visit to this location several times a week (at different times) and there is never more than 1 or 2 people behind the front desk.
