I mailed a package Ground Advantage from Cane Hill Arkansas to Darien Illinois 60561 and it was delivered to Libertyville Illinois 60048 How is this even possible??? Are they now hiring people who can't read? I would have hoped the person who received it might have been honest enough to put it back in the system, but that does not seem to be the case. The system is SO very broken. I currently have 2 packages to Oregon and California that actually reached those states, but are now back in Arkansas. I think the only advantage to Ground Advantage is that your packages get a free tour of the country. read more

Horrible service. Had a grouchy Indian guy begrudgingly talk to me while at the front desk. Didn't even make eye contact with me and brushed off my questions. the Same guy had the same demeanor on the phone. USPS has fallen off by hiring bad employees. Expected a package and call the vendor who stated it was delivered to our mail box. This package would not fit. I call the libertyville post office Tuesday around 4:20 and spoke to a woman who was extremely rude and hung up on me. I Then spoke to a dave who stated he was The postmaster. He was of no help . Postal staff is fine. They work as fast as they can and I have found them to be very accommodating and pleasant. My complaint is with the outside of the building. The landscaping is terrible! Weeds are everywhere! Grass needs mowing most of the time, the parking lot is full of potholes and the parking spot markings are barely visible. Libertyville postmaster needs to address all of these issues. read more

This post office has lost several items, including a package to my accountant containing all my financial info. They goofed up the scan of the package I dropped at the window and could never trace it. I filed a lost package ticket, but for a year got form emails saying "search continues". I'm sure they were doing nothing. Went to P.O to follow up, they couldn't help. Never found my package. Another time, I took a misdelivered package there to be forwarded. They refused! I had to pay to ship an unopened package that had been misdelivered. This month, they lost a package return. Go elsewhere! read more

With the exception of one person, the service from staff is usually fine. I have had one guy treat me pretty rudely but chalked it up to him having a bad day. However, my big concern is the fact that my sent mail has gone missing and hasn't been received. I sent my Christmas cards 10 days ago and they have not been received by anyone. I sent my downstairs neighbor a card 3 weeks ago and she never got it. We are in Libertyville. I worry that my bills will be late. read more

Second worst post office in the area after Vernon Hills. There is always a massive line with slow-moving employees, who make zero effort to hurry transactions along. The lack of urgency drives me nuts , when I need to do a quick drop off and they are having conversations lallygagging with guests. read more

My office is across the street from this post office and it is hands-down the worst as any I've ever experienced in the country. The staff is usually not very friendly and when they are it's when the line is out the door and they don't realize that now is not the time to chitchat with the customer. Go to Vernon Hills instead as this place is so much better. In fact when I have joked with the postal workers in Vernon Hills about the sad experience I always have in Libertyville, they just laughed because they've heard it all before. read more

This was the most delightful experience I've had at a post office. Kevin was my agent, and he took the time to help me properly tape and label my box. He also was cheerful and humorous. He made my shipping choice easy and offered a choice of fun stamps. We had some fun small talk and I left satisfied. This agent is top notch. Way to go Libertyville. read more

A absolute horror. Went on Sunday to use the kiosk. Did not realize dump box was crammed shut and could not deposit my package. I just laid out a ton on priority mail, now what? I decided to leave my package in front of the dumper on the floor with a taped note it needed mailing. Now who knows, will it get shipped? Another lady had to run to Mundelein after doing my same dance, ridiculous !!! Next time I will mail at my regular post office in Russell, IL, no joke...and during the week. read more

Our experience shipping packages via USPS has been pretty disappointing. The latest debacle just occurred with a package we shipped out of state on Dec 15th filled with Xmas presents. I paid $60 for insured, priority delivery. Today is Dec 26th and it's still not clear where the package is. According to the on-line tracking it bounced around the regional mail center for 9 days and is now 'in route to its destination but will arrive later than expected'. No additional info. The person I spoke with at the Libertyville post office just shrugged it off and was totally dismissive when I said I wanted a refund for priority postage charge. "We say 2 to 3 days, but we don't guarantee anything". I am setting up an account with UPS. (BTW, I can't count on timely Amazon prime 2-day deliveries since the USPS got involved) read more

Poor customer service and lack of disclosure on products provided. Let me begin by saying, I do believe in giving second chances but clearly this experience has taught me a different lesson. About two months ago, I had to send some documents to a different country for one of my clients. I have paid for the envelope to be delivered within a week time. As you can imagine the envelope never got delivered. What was supposed to be an easy task turned into a month long ordeal that never got resolved. The lack of care and accountability by our lovely USPS has surpassed worst case of any kind of other organization with poor customer service that I ever had to deal with. The post office gave me such a runaround that I eventually gave up and had to collect documents all over again. The second time around I sent them with DHL in UPS store and the envelope got to the correct destination within 3 bus. DAYS! Ok fine, maybe international mail is not USPS's "cup of tea". This time I had to send a box to CO. I used one of their FLAT Rate boxes to ship. Careless me forgot to seal one of the sides of the box before I handed it over to a clerk, instead of forgiving me and graciously using his precious tape to seal the box, he made me buy a whole new roll of tape just to seal that one side. Ok, that's fine I can use the tape for other things (even though I could have bought the same roll of tape in any Office Max for a dollar less). I paid for the 2 day Priority shipment that turned out to be around $ 25 more than regular 7-10 days delivery. It was fine since I needed the package to be delivered on time. Of course due to severe weather USPS could not deliver on time and instead delivered it 3 days (not counting 2 days of weekend) after the scheduled date. I understand USPS does not have control over weather, but it does have control over their fees. When I called the 1(800) number for the customer services, I waited on hold for 20 minutes for the rep who informed me that I should go to my local post office and they will issue a refund. Mind you, I was asking only for the extra fee that was charged for the 2 day Priority, not the whole shipment fee. To make a long story short, I wasted another 30 minutes of my life just to hear the manager of the Libertyville post office location say that they don't refund 2 - day Priority shipment fees unless its some other version of Priority shipment, because they are not guaranteed. What?! What the heck did I pay extra $25 for? If anyone in that post office would have told me that I am paying extra $25 for a "MAYBEY/ MAYBEY NOT on time delivery" I would have chosen a different option. Lesson learned: USPS sucks. Use FedEx or UPS/DHL for your shipment needs. read more
